A 15-minute daily stretching session can help make your joints more limber.Javier Diez/Stocksy
If you have psoriatic arthritis, you may worry that exercise will worsen your condition. In fact, physical activity is an essential part of caring for your health: It can improve your strength, endurance, and flexibility, and help you manage your weight.

While all forms of exercise are beneficial, gentle stretches can play a key role in relieving psoriatic arthritis symptoms. When your tendons are loose and limber, you may be less likely to experience pain and tightness, according to the patient advocacy group CreakyJoints.

Plus, “increasing your flexibility helps prevent injury,” says M. Elaine Husni, MD, MPH, the vice chair of rheumatology and the director of the arthritis and musculoskeletal center at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. “Daily stretching is an underemphasized part of psoriatic arthritis exercise.”

You’ll want to devote at least 15 minutes a day to stretching, but you should consider doing more, says Dr. Husni.

To get off on the right foot with any new stretching regimen, “you should start with a physical therapist to evaluate your physical ability and come up with a plan,” Husni says. “Once you can stretch without injuring yourself, you can make the plan part of your daily routine.”

Physical therapists are licensed by the state where they practice and work in a variety of settings, according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and private practices.

In addition to creating a stretching plan tailored to your individual needs, a physical therapist will teach you how to monitor and adjust your program in response to changes in your psoriatic arthritis pain level, disease activity, and response to treatment, says the ACR.

Stretches for Psoriatic Arthritis Hands and Fingers
hands laid out on table

“Fingers are a common site of psoriatic arthritis pain, swelling, and stiffness,” Husni says. To stretch them:

Rest your hand on a table palm up, and bend the fingers together all the way in towards the palm.
Rest your hand on the table palm down, and, one at a time, lift each finger as high as you can.
Hold your hand out and touch each fingertip to the tip of your thumb.
Repeat five times.
Here’s a simple stretch for hands:

Rest your forearm on a table and let your hand hang down.
Clench your fingers while flexing your wrist so your fist comes up as far as possible.
Repeat 10 times

Stretch-and-hold exercises can improve flexibility in your neck. “When you do your stretches, you want to stay and hold, but not to the point where it becomes painful,” Husni says. “Stop if it hurts.”

To stretch your neck:

Sitting upright in a straight-backed chair, bend your head sideways toward your shoulder; stretch and hold for about five seconds.
Keeping your back still, turn your head to the other side as far as you can without pain, holding the stretch for five seconds.
Repeat five times.

“There should not be any bounce in these stretching exercises,” says Husni. “Slow and easy does it.”

To stretch your back:

Lie on your back on a firm, flat surface with your feet flat on the ground and your knees bent.
Tighten your belly to push your back as flat as you can for five seconds, then release.
Repeat 10 times.

For another stretch, roll your knees from side to side to side while keeping your back on the ground.

One more stretch: Start by lying on your back on a firm, flat surface. Push down with your feet and shoulders while gently lifting your lower back off the ground.

Horror As Man Hangs Self At In-laws Homestead

A 30-YEAR-OLD man from Chakaipa Village under Chief Gwesela in Zhombe hanged himself at his in-law’s homestead following a misunderstanding with his wife over infidelity.

Peter Mlauzi hanged himself after discovering that his wife Blessing Manokore was having an affair. Chief Gwesela confirmed the development to B-Metro saying the village was still shocked by the incident.

“Mlauzi’s actions shocked the whole village and we’re still trying to come to terms with this unusual incident.

“He was a very hard-working man and he worked tirelessly as a gold panner to provide for his family and his in-laws,” he said.

Chief Gwesela said on the fateful day, Mlauzi discovered that his wife was having an affair with another man from the village.

“Upon hearing the news of his wife’s illicit affair, he felt betrayed and he decided to end his life by hanging himself at his mother-in-law’s homestead,” said Chief Gwesela.

He said Mlauzi had since been buried. Chief Gwesela also said that he was yet to meet the Manokores so that a cleansing ceremony is conducted as the incident could be a bad omen to the village.

“I am meeting with the family next week so that we conduct a cleansing ceremony to help appease Mlauzi’s spirit because if that is not done, we might have problems,” he said.

He appealed to members of the public to always seek intervention from a third party in cases of disputes.- B- Metro

Lt Mapiye together with two colleagues, were on a flight over the area when their chopper crashed onto a house, the Zimbabwe National Air Force announced in a statement in the afternoon. The announcement was as follows:

Press statement

ZIFA Defies CAF, Uses Condemned National Sport Stadium

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Football Association has defied a ban by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) which interdicted the local football governing body from using facilities at the National Sports Stadium until they are renovated.

The ban last year by CAF for Zimbabwe, from hosting international matches, was granted a reprieve on the condition that grounds used for international matches were upgraded to set standards.

In a statement on this week , ZIFA said CAF had found the National Sports wanting in several areas when it hosted recent Africa Cup of Nations group matches against Algeria and Zambia.

“In their letter of sanction, CAF noted that there are no fixed individual spectator seats in all sectors and the stadium’s general uncleanliness,” ZIFA’s statement said.

“CAF stadium requirements stipulate that seats for spectators must be individual, fixed to the floor, separated from one another, shaped, numbered, made of an unbreakable and non-flammable material, and have a backrest of a minimum height of 30cm when measured from the seat,” ZIFA said in a statement.

“We have notified the Sports and Recreation Commission as the stadium authority, and encouraged them to expedite renovations at the stadium so that we avoid future sanctions or the grim possibility of playing home matches abroad.”

ZIFA was found guilty and was fined US$2000 for the offence.

Mwazha Dumps Johane Marange

By A Correspondent- Ngonidzashe, the eldest son of the founder of the African Apostolic Church (AAC), popularly known as Mwazha has dumped Johane Marange and returned to his father’s Christian denomination where he wants to take over the leadership of the church.

His return is however, expected to cause devisions in the troubled church.

The church already has two factions which are lead by Apostle Paul Mwazha’s second born son, Alfred Kushamisa and last born son, Tawanda Israel is likely to split agin following the return of Ngonidzashe to the church.

According to Manica Post, Ngonidzashe, who all along was a member of Johane Marange Apostolic Church, has since reverted to his father’s church and is now enjoying considerable support within the AAC.

His recent sermons such as the well-attended Eastview pilgrimage last Saturday in Harare are evidence of how some members of the church are warming up to him.

The elderly AAC leader, Apostle Mwazha, popularly referred to as Mudzidzisi, Mutumwa or Archbishop, turns 103 this year.

The Mwazha divisions, which are not only felt in Zimbabwe, but in neighbouring South Africa and Botswana, have seen each of the formations appointing its own pastors and leaders while conducting services at different places of worship.

When contacted for comment, Chiseko Mwazha, who is also Apostle Mwazha’s son and is backing Tawanda Israel, said he was not aware of the splits.

“We do not know anything about the existence of another faction in the church. If someone is conducting their church services elsewhere, it is their business and we know nothing about that.

“We are only doing what we were told by Mutumwa (Apostle Mwazha). All the leaders and pastors in our church were appointed by Mutumwa. Whatever others are doing has nothing to do with us,” said Chiseko.

Speaking on Ngonidzashe’s moves, Chiseko said the elder Mwazha is not part of AAC.

“Ngonidzashe did not return to us. He is not part of our church as far as we are concerned,” said Chiseko.

However, in a video taken in Harare last Saturday, which this newspaper is in possession of, Ngonidzashe is seen leading one of the AAC sermons with hundreds of congregants in attendance.

Alfred Kushamisa and Tawanda Israel were not part of that congregation.

Sources in the church confided in this newspaper that Ngonidzashe has gained popularity in the church owing to his healing powers that are believed to be a blessing from Archbishop Mwazha.

One of the nagging points in Ngonidzashe’s return, however, is that he is a

polygamist, something that is not acceptable within AAC.

It is understood that a clause in the church’s standing rules stipulates that a polygamist can join the church, but will not be entrusted with a leadership role.

ACC secretary-general, Richard Juru, who is aligned to Alfred Kushamisa, refused to entertain questions from this publication.

“I cannot say anything about that issue. You can talk to Bishop AK himself,” he said.

Another Alfred Kushamisa sympathiser as well as the church’s publicity chairman, Patrick Tawanda Tafa’s mobile phone went unanswered.

Alfred Kushamisa, Tawanda Israel and Ngonidzashe were unreachable.

As the ACC drama continues to unfold, contrasting messages on who should be the Archbishop’s successor have been thrown around.

An audio clip purportedly recorded at a leadership meeting in the presence of Apostle Mwazhawas widely circulated among church members as a church leader – allegedly under the instruction from Apostle Mwazha – pronounced that Alfred Kushamisa is the rightful heir to the church’s throne.

In that clip, Tawanda Israel was given the role of administering the Holy Communion or annual last supper rites. In sharp contrast to that communiqué, in a video clip that was reportedly recorded in South Africa during a Passover gathering, Apostle Mwazha was captured saying Tawanda is his chosen successor.

“My son Tawanda is the one who was chosen by God to be my successor. God visited him in his house. He received my spiritual gift,” said Apostle Mwazha to wild applause.

But as more tension festers in the church, it has emerged that the fights go deeper than the leadership issue, amid stunning revelations that even prayer methods have been part of disharmony in one of the country’s leading indigenous churches.

Reliable sources within the church revealed that there have always been existing differences within the church, adding that the festering tension has only manifested through the succession wrangles.

Long and personal prayers, widely known within the church as “tsindondi”, have been a source of disharmony, with the church’s Board of Trustees insisting on pre-written and recited prayers.

Man Catches Wife Cheating, Commits Suicide At In-Laws’ Home

By A Correspondent- A Zhombe man has hanged himself at his in-law’s homestead after catching his wife cheating.

Peter Mlauzi (30) from Chakaipa Village under Chief Gwesela in Zhombe hanged himself at his in-law’s homestead was so hurt by her wife’s infidelity, Blessing Manokore, that he took the extreme root of killing himself at his in-law’s place leaving the community in shock.

Chief Gwasela confirmed the development to B Metro.

“Mlauzi’s actions shocked the whole village and we’re still trying to come to terms with this unusual incident.

“He was a very hard-working man and he worked tirelessly as a gold panner to provide for his family and his in-laws,” he said.

ZIFA Slapped With US$2000 Fine For Using Condemned Football Pitch

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Football Association has been fined US$2000 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for using sub-standard facilities at the National Sports Stadium.

The ban last year by CAF for Zimbabwe, from hosting international matches, was granted a reprieve on the condition that grounds used for international matches were upgraded to set standards.

Another Split Hits Mhazha Apostolic Sect

COUNTDOWN: Judicial Power In Hands Of The People

By Mari Matutu | 23 April 2021
Arise and stand above the level of cowards and Ediots.

I challenge you oo citizens of Zimbabwe in all your diversities to stand up.
A judge appointed without public interview has no s162 judiciary authority. He is not a judge but a GRUDGE. Just as check drawn without sufficient funds bounces , bill number two is a bounced law. Insufficient Authority.
Put your stamp “IA”
Today as I ask you these few questions-
a) Who does not know that the courts as presided by constitutional judges, are the ones that hear and determine disputes relating to election to the office of President?

b) Who does not know that the courts as presided by judges are the ones who decide all constitutional matters?

c) Who does not know that the courts as presided by judges provide advice on the constitutionality of any proposed legislation?

d) Who does not know that Courts as presided by judges, is the one that hear and determine disputes relating to whether or not a person is qualified to hold the office of Vice President?

e) Who does not know that courts as presided by judges determines whether Parliament or the President has failed to fulfil a constitutional obligation?

f) Who does not know that the Constitutional Court as presided by judges, makes the final decision whether an Act of Parliament or conduct of the President or Parliament is constitutional, and must confirm any order of constitutional invalidity made by another court before that order has any force ?

g) Who does not know that the Supreme Court is the final court of appeal for Zimbabwe, except in matters over which the Constitutional Court has jurisdiction?

h) Who does not know that courts must be independent and are subject only to the Constitution and the law, which they must apply impartially, expeditiously and without fear, favour or prejudice?

i) Who does not know that the independence, impartiality and effectiveness of the courts are central to the rule of law and democratic governance?

j) Who does not know that neither the State nor any institution or agency of the government at any level, and no other person, must interfere with the functioning of the courts;

k) Who does not know that the State, through legislative and other measures, must assist and protect the courts to ensure their independence, impartiality, dignity, accessibility and effectiveness and to ensure that they comply with the principles guiding judiciary delivery?

l) Who does not know that an order or decision of a court binds the State and all persons and governmental institutions and agencies to which it applies, and must be obeyed by them?

m) Who does not know that justice must be done to all irrespective of status

n) Who does not know that the role of court is paramount to safeguarding human rights and freedoms and rule of law?

o) Who does not know that members of the judiciary, individually and collectively, must respect and honour their judicial office as a public trust and must strive to enhance their independence in order to maintain public confidence in the judiciary system?

p) Who does not know that Members of the judiciary must not solicit or accept any gift, bequest, loan or favour that may influence their judicial conduct or give the appearance of judicial impropriety?

q) Who does not know that every person has a right to a fair, speedy and public hearing within a reasonable time before an independent, competent and impartial court, tribunal or other forum established by law?

r) Who does not know that the current role the president is doing in the appointment of judges after public interview is a ceremonial role of as head of state in terms of s110(1) of constitution and not as an executive role which must leave the principle of separation of powers in place as directed by s3(2)(e)?

s) Who does not know that by directing the president to appoint a judge without public interview is relegating the duty to appoint judges by president to a purely executive duty just as he appoint ministers and permanent Secretaries under executive arm of state?

t) Who is blind to see that the bill is avoiding merit and transparency in the appointment of judges, yet s9 direct legislation that promote merit

?Fellow citizens having asked these a-t questions of today, which are common cause, how then do we have
i) an amendment of constitution that intend to put a constitutional court appointed by a president without public interviews yet those courts will decide his election or his decisions’ constitunality?

ii) How then do we have judges that accept a favour among all citizens, to be appointed as judges without proving competency to anyone or proving their independence nor other influence behind their appointment, become national judges that will give justice for all? Yet s165(2) still stand and forbid a judge to receive a favour.

iii) How then do we have judges who have attained retirement age, accepting a favour and benevolence of staying on a top up contract between a president and a judge? Yet that same judge has to give justice without looking at one’s status?

iv) How then do we expect competency, impartiality and independence in a person that has an appointing authority who is part of disputes that come before his/her court everyday? Yet they want to appoint without interviews or public involvement?

v) How then my fellow citizens, do we expect freedoms, rights and rule of law, to be upheld when the wish, judgement or decisions of one person in the name of president, consulting another lot he would have appointed or has been appointed by his stooges by the name Judiciary service Commission, is all what shall run our judiciary. Yet judges have to be competent.

vi) How do we expect presidential elections petition hearings to be impartial when one person has staffed 7 people of his own choice on the bench disguising as a court? Yet election have to be free, fair and credible.

vii) How then my fellow citizen, do we expect to challenge the constitutionality of decisions of president when the same president has staffed 7 individual masquerading as judges on the bench? Yet a court has to be impartial.

viii) May I further ask you this, how does a judge who never went before public either to apply for the post, be nominated from universal set of citizens, or tested of his or her competency through interviews suddenly hold “Public Trust”? Yet s165(2) talk of PUBLIC TRUST.

ix) Where does that “Public Trust” originate from? Yet s165(2) still stand stating that judges have to have public trust.

x) Where is the public or their trust when they are not involved in the process. Yet they want to appoint without public involvement.

xi) Should that same clause not be changed and state the trust they hold in exercising the new role. Not my trust. Yet I am part of public being bared from the selection of such judges

xii) Who in the whole process is regarded as public, who then confers that which a judge must honour as public trust as Principle in terms of s165(2)? Fellow citizen even if a dog has canines, it does not use them against one that feed it. The canines are best used to crush the bones of what the master throws before its feeding trough.

xiii) How does an individual appointed in the name of president’s trust and judgement on who to appoint suddenly become “Public Trust”?
xiv) If s177(1) still state that “a person is qualified for appointment as a judge of the Constitutional Court if he or she is a Zimbabwean citizen, is at least forty years old and has a sound knowledge of constitutional law.” I must then follow that a President has to be a person with sound knowledge of knowing how to test and detect a person with sound knowledge of constitutional law or have sound knowledge of constitutional law himself. How the president’s own sound knowledge of constitutional is tested is another issue but no one can deny that Constitutional Court is a Specialised Court where expertise is of paramount importance. Yet competence is a requirement.
As I have lodged my own questions to you, challenging your conscience and emotions, I believe you may have your own questions too. The more question we all have, the more responsibilities we have as citizens in terms of s35(4). Stand up or they stand on you.
As I conclude and give you confidence that 2013 constitution was the best reform we had, It is upon us as citizens to exercise our political right in s67(2)(d) to resist and refuse an unjust and unlawful bill.
Your resolve is in s86(3)(e) which I quote as whole
“No law may limit the following rights enshrined in this Chapter, and no person may violate them—
(a) the right to life, except to the extent specified in section 48;
(b) the right to human dignity;
(c) the right not to be tortured or subjected to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment;
(d) the right not to be placed in slavery or servitude;
(e) the right to a fair trial;
(f) the right to obtain an order of habeas corpus as provided in section 50(7)(a).”
All we need is to prove from the a-t questions, that are common cause, if a fair trial for election of president dispute, or decision of a president, or human violation by state institutions, can be tried fairly by judges who are appointed by president without public interviews?
The obvious answer is no fair trial, because before the matter is heard the incumbent president has 7 people who he trust and have a duty to please the appointing authority.
It is clear that Supreme Court is the highest final court that decide all disputes that do not relate to constitution but equally so, their decisions are final and leaves us all without remedy. The stooges shall decide in favour of interest of appointing authority. Just as what Chinese are doing in Hwange. They are serving interests of individuals and they drill holes on graves of citizen’s beloved ones. If a judge is to preside over such a case after being appointed without interview, what will be the difference between him and the Chinese as they are both appointees of one person?
As s86(3)(e) states that no law can limit or violet right to fair trial as is enshrined in s69, all we need is to challenge by way s67(2) and put it bare that
i) a judge appointed without public involvement has no s162 judiciary authority and is not a judge but a grudge,

ii) Without interview we cannot prove competency yet competency of a judge is an ingredient of fair trial,

iii) Without advertising to public and allowing all citizens to apply, or nominate without anyone being refused chance, there is no way we can prove independence of whoever is appointed as judge. Yet independence is an ingredient of fair trial

iv) By having a single person appointing 7 judges that seat on a bench to decide if his decision or his election is constitutional, there is no way impartiality can be achieved. Yet impartiality is an ingredient of fair trial

v) If being appointed to be a judge of Constitutional Court or Supreme court without going through interview or having your contract extended by a president after attaining 70 is not a favour or a privilege, then our Cambridge or Oxford dictionaries must find some other definition to suit the new version. Yet it is by principle in s165 that judges must not receive favours.

vi) If merit has fallen from the favour of legislature such that they all ignore section 9(1)(a) which I shall quote
“The State must adopt and implement policies and legislation to develop efficiency, competence, accountability, transparency, personal integrity and financial probity in all institutions and agencies of government at every level and in every public institution, and in particular—
(a) appointments to public offices must be made primarily on the basis of merit;”
Then where else shall s9 ever work and is going to enforce the compliance of appointment by merit when the specialised court of the constitution is staffed with dubious characters who never proven any competence to anyone.

vii) How then can we say the legislature who sat and debated or voted for this bill were promoting and upholding constitution or even representing the interest of any of us?
As we get to 15 May 2021, there shall be no Constitutional court Judges with our authority, No Chief Justice or Deputy Chief Justice with our authority. Yet s162 is clear that the Judiciary authority is derived from us and vested in courts as listed in the provision, as the composition of Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and High Court is mentioned in sections 166, 168 and 170 respectively.
As at 15 May 2021 those courts will not be properly and constitutionally constituted. We must stand up and say what ever is done by who so ever is null and void as s2 states and it is without our authority.
As we all now know that after the lapse of 7 years from 2013, authority of Judges of Supreme Court Acting as Constitutional court ended in May 2020.
We do not have any Constitutional court as we speak and all these issues cannot be resolved by any court because there is no court in place.
It is word against word. The matter has been put into our hands by s35.
Do not be intimidated by Parliament processes or words like amendment of constitution. They can only exist if you give them room. Just like a woman can choose to call someone who rapes her as her husband.
I refuse. What about you

MATANGA SWEATS OVER PAYMENT CLAIMS FOR POLICE BRUTALITY

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga is feeling the heat over payment of damages awarded to people who fall victim to police brutality.

Matanga recently disclosed this in his response to an application seeking his imprisonment for contempt of court filed by Loveness Chiriseri, a Chitungwiza resident after the ZRP Commissioner-General failed to pay compensation to her as ordered by High Court Judge
Justice Edith Mushore in July 2020.

Matanga argued that there is no just cause for Chiriseri to take him to court seeking his imprisonment for contempt of court for defying a court order as he had taken legal steps necessary to trigger her payment in compliance with Justice Mushore’s order.

Matanga attached some “telling” letters accompanying his notice of opposition to Chiriseri’s application where he disclosed that he had instructed his lawyers to request treasury authority from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, which is ZRP’s parent ministry to pay Chiriseri.

The Commissioner-General said he was not wilfully disobeying or neglecting to comply with the court order as he had sought for authority to pay and the authority had not been granted and is still waiting for it to be approved. He said the delay to pay Chiriseri was
due to official procedures within government and once he gets the Treasury Concurrence from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, she will be paid.

Chiriseri was awarded US$16 788 in damages after she was assisted by Fiona Iliff of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights to sue when she shot by police officers in August 2018.

She was injured when a police officer manning a police checkpoint at the intersection of Seke road and Delport road shot twice at a private vehicle she was travelling in as a passenger.

Chiriseri sued Matanga, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe, Chief Inspector Modwick Musonza, the Officer in Charge of St Mary’s Police Station in Chitungwiza and Finance Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube for damages for injuries sustained as a result of the shooting, medical expenses, pain and suffering, nervous shock and loss of amenities to life.

In court, Iliff argued that the police officer who shot Chiriseri applied excessive force and that the officer’s constitutional right was exercised in an overzealous and questionable manner.

In her extensive ruling, Justice Mushore noted that Chiriseri posed no danger to the public or to the internal security of the country or to law and order and that she was an unarmed non-threatening passenger in a vehicle.

The police officer, Justice Mushore said, had no basis to fire a weapon at a civilian target and if it was his intention to stop the driver of the vehicle in which Chiriseri was travelling in from proceeding through a checkpoint, he ought to have fired a warning shot into the air.

Same-Sex Love Affair In Nasty Ending

By James Gwati- A love affair between two Bulawayo women has ended in a nasty way with one of the partners approaching the courts for protection.

Linda Sphiwe Mpofu from Bulawayo’s Barbourfields suburb begged the court to protect her from her marauding ex-lover Brenda Mugabazi.

Linda told the Bulawayo Civil Court that she is now living in fear for her life as Brenda did not take the break-up well. She alleged that her ex-lover is violent and abusive and is now stalking her and threatening her for daring to end the relationship.

“On 25 December 2020, she beat me up and I sustained a swollen left knee and foot and I am still limping up to now. Whenever she meets me, she harasses me and declares that I can’t leave her,” reports B-Metro

According to a clearly distraught Linda, Brenda has an insatiable sexual appetite and is always demanding sex from her despite the fact that they are no longer together. In fact, Brenda is alleged to be demanding sex as a way of punishing Linda for leaving her.

‌Linda also claimed that she now wants to live “a normal life” and accused Brenda of having forced her into being a lesbian.

“I have been living a lesbian life with Brenda (Mugabazi) who forced me into it and I have realised that I cannot continue with it… I am begging the honourable court to grant me a protection order against her…This is because I want to live a normal life again.”

Following the assault that occurred on Christmas Day, Linda was granted an interim protection order in January after she told the court that she was terrified of Brenda’s abuse and sex demands.

She revealed that her situation had worsened as Brenda has been constantly threatening her saying that she will never let her go because she (Linda) is her wife.

Real Madrid, Chelsea UEFA Semifinal Clash To Go Ahead

The Champions League semifinal tie between Real Madrid and Chelsea is expected to go ahead as scheduled, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has revealed.

UEFA

Ceferin had threatened to hit the two clubs with sanctions after they were involved in a breakaway European Super League which was dissolved just two days after its launch.

Speaking on Wednesday, the Slovenian said the tie could be in doubt but the television deals in place make it unlikely.

“The key is that this season has already started, so broadcasters would come at us for damages if we don’t play the semi-finals,” he said, responding to that question on Slovenian TV, on 24UR.

“So, there’s a relatively small possibility that this match isn’t played next week.

“But, things could be a little different in the future.”

The Champions League semi-final is scheduled for the 27th of this month, with Madrid hosting Chelsea in the first leg while the return fixture is on 5 May in London.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

He has however fallen the packing order in Rogério Micale’ side and consequently offloaded.

Reports from Sudan suggest his contract was terminated by mutual consent.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Revealed : Goalkeeper Martin Mapisa Is Also A Prolific Striker

Zamora CF coach David Movilla has explained why he used goalkeeper Martin Mapisa as an outfield player in the 3-2 win over Cultural Leonesa on Sunday.

The 22-year old Zimbabwean was introduced in the 87th minute as a central striker.

This was not the first time he had played as a forward after he shifted positions in some pre-season friendly games.

Speaking to the club’s media, Movilla said lack of squad depth due injuries forced him to improvised and shifted the keeper to a new position as he wanted to preserve the lead in the game.

The coach said: “Things have to be argued based on the need and that everything is done to manage the resources that I have.

“In the team, we have many casualties, and we know about Mapisa’s capabilities.

“Already in a friendly against Cáceres, he played a few minutes, in some training we have put him there, he is a player with many abilities and with the capacity to have a tour there.

“We lacked legs to keep pushing up, Mapisa has them and he did well in the air.

“What we always do here is put individual resources at the service of the team and, once again, Mapisa, like the others, have put everything they have at the service of the team.

“All I do is enjoy what they do, because regardless of the result, I really enjoy what this team transmits, which goes far beyond winning or losing.”

Zamora, meanwhile, are placed fifth in the Spanish Segundo B play-offs standings.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Tinashe Sambiri|Agents of the Zanu PF regime on Thursday night forcibly removed Hon Joana Mamombe from a private hospital where she was receiving treatment.

Hon Mamombe is critically ill and health experts say she requires urgent attention.

“There is nothing that this regime has not done to Hon Joana Ruvimbo Mamombe!!!

The victimisation and harassment is too much. What wrong really has she done against this government?? Exposed to degrading treatment for speaking out against injustice,” fumed MDC Alliance deputy Youth Assembly organising secretary, Netsai Marova.

“In the latest show of cruelty and degrading treatment, Joana Ruvimbo Mamombe was forcibly removed from hospital by prison officials last night against the orders of her doctor who says she needs specialist treatment. She remains gravely ill and was scheduled to see a specialist,” MDC Alliance spokesperson Advocate Fadzayi Mahere said in a statement.

Can Exercise Relieve Arthritis Symptoms?

Chikurubi Maximum Prison No Longer Suitable For Human Habitation- MDC Alliance

Tinashe Sambiri|Chikurubi Maximum Prison has become worse than Adolf Hitler’s Concentration Camps…

This was said by MDC Alliance Youth Assembly spokesperson Stephen Sarkozy Chuma on Thursday.

Chuma condemned the prolonged detention of Hon Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri.

He called for the immediate release of critically ill Mamombe. There are serious concerns about Hon Mamombe and Chimbiri’s safety.
Below is Chuma’s argument:

22-04-2021

The MDC Alliance Youth Assembly demands for the immediate release from prison of the critically ill Hon Joana Mamombe.

Mamombe together with our Vice Chairperson, Cecilia Chimbiri have been languishing at Chikurubi Maximum Prison for close to two months now.

We demand for their immediate release so that Mamombe can access better health care outside the empty state health facilities.

Chikurubi has become worse than Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Concentration Camps and is now a death trap due to its filthy and squalid conditions.

Nomatter the case, the place is just not suitable for human habitation.

We have a sad history with Chikurubi and our female comrades following the death of Rebecca Mafikeni in the same facility a decade ago.

Mafikeni just like what is happening to Hon Mamombe now was denied access to quality private health care until she lost her life in those empty government facilities.

There is no reasonable grounds whatsoever why Mamombe and Chimbiri must continually rot in jail when the very same High Court that denied them bail yesterday granted one to Emelda Mazarani who gruesomely murdered her four children in November last year.

We would like to warn the regime that the continued caging of Mamombe when she is unwell will definitely invite big trouble to their doorsteps.

Mamombe is a young female youth leader who possesses a huge following hence denying her access to health care when she is unwell is surely incitement to violence.

Her release is our priority and matter of urgency!

As an Assembly we are not going to tolerate this inhumane treatment of young females manifest before us.

Zanu Pf Extends Olive Branch To G40 Stalwarts

By A Correspondent- Zanu-PF is re-admitting without conditions and burying the hatchet with all its members who were turfed out of the party on accusations of belonging to the former liberation movement’s Generation 40 (G40) faction.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily News yesterday, the party’s secretary for administration, Obert Mpofu, pictured, said the unconditional re-admission of the vanquished G40s and other former members had the full backing of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The G40s, many of whom had sought to be re-admitted to the ruling party, were purged in the aftermath of the spectacular fall from power of the late former president Robert Mugabe in November 2017, following a widely supported military coup.

At the height of the ruling party’s factional, tribal and succession fights, G40 members had aligned themselves to Mugabe and his erratic wife Grace – while the Lacoste faction backed Mnangagwa, who was then vice president.

Although Zanu-PF had recently appeared to extend an olive branch to remnants of the G40 faction, the ruling party’s commissariat and security departments had insisted on vetting these former members first, before their re-admission.

However, Mpofu has since moved to instruct party organs to speed up the process of re-integrating the G40 members.

All this comes as Zanu-PF bids to garner a party membership of at least five million ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections.

It also comes as there have been allegations that some party bigwigs are rabidly opposed to having the G40s back in the fold.

“We welcome all who want to join the party. How do you vet someone who wants to join the party?

“Party structures must welcome people who want to re-join in a manner that will not discourage them. We have communicated this to party structures.

“Even the president has said there is a need for the party to welcome those who want to come back and some of our former members who are re-joining the party,” Mpofu told the Daily News.

“It’s about growing the membership of the party and we will welcome all people who want to join Zanu-PF,” he added.

Mpofu also warned those in party structures against blocking the amnesty to the G40s and other former party members.

“We have seen in some cases where colleagues are trying to create difficult conditions for new members to come to the party.

“We are saying coming to the party is really something that is appreciated by the party and they must receive them in a friendly manner.

“The president himself has gone out of his way to receive new members. Why should an individual block others?

“Because you have a position in the branch, district, central committee or you are an MP you have to work for your position and not create an environment that will frighten others from joining the party,” Mpofu added.

Earlier, the Zanu-PF administration head had also told the information department that he had “piles of letters of applications from members who had left the party and wanted to rejoin”.

“I have told all the systems, all departments to receive them without referring them to other departments.

“Let’s receive all members who want to join the party without creating unnecessary obstacles which will not make us achieve the five million membership target.

“We welcome all those who want to work with us. We are appealing to all our structures throughout the country to receive those comrades who want to come back to the party without making it difficult for them to do so,” Mpofu said.

This comes as some former senior Zanu-PF officials – among them ex-ministers and former G40 kingpins – have been pushing to re-join the former liberation movement ahead of the 2023 polls.

Zanu-PF insiders told the Daily News yesterday that some provincial structures were taking “a cautious approach” to these former members who wanted to come back, and were thus engaging in “strict security checks” for all of them.

“Some leaders in provinces fear for their positions because they know that the G40 have the capacity to dislodge them.

“So, they are trying very hard and using all means to block these members from coming back,” one well-placed source said.

Among the bigwigs believed to have recently applied for re-admission into Zanu-PF are former Sports minister Makhosini Hlongwane, ex-Labour deputy minister Tapiwa Matangaidze, former Masvingo provincial political commissar Jeppy Jaboon, former Chiredzi West MP Darlington Chiwa and ex-Rushinga legislator Wonder Mashange.

This comes as Zanu-PF has also previously said that it wants to lure back many of its former big shots who were hounded out of the party in the twilight of Mugabe’s tenure in power.

Recently, Zanu-PF also appointed Vice President Constantino Chiwenga to lead a team to draft a broader mandate of its recently established elders’ advisory committee – whose job, among other things, is to lure back party bigwigs who had left since the ructions of 2014.

According to party insiders, some of the notable names being courted include former Zanu-PF spokesperson Rugare Gumbo, as well as ex-ministers Dzikamai Mavhaire – who is now with the MDC Alliance – and Francis Nhema and Flora Bhuka.

They added that also on the party’s radar was former Mashonaland East Zanu-PF provincial chairperson Ray Kaukonde.

Some of these bigwigs were booted out of both the government and Zanu-PF in the run-up to the sham December 2014 congress which sealed the fate of former vice president Joice Mujuru – who was sacked on false allegations of wanting to topple Mugabe from power.

Already, Zanu-PF has succeeded in luring back former National Patriotic Front (NPF) interim leader Ambrose Mutinhiri and its ex-secretary for administration, Didymus Mutasa.

This also comes as Zanu-PF has also extended an olive branch to Mujuru and other former bigwigs such as Nicholas Goche – in a bid to heal growing rifts within the ruling party.

Mujuru was fired from Zanu-PF and the government in December 2014 by Mugabe, amid cruel claims of witchcraft, corruption and treasonous behaviour directed at the widow by the nonagenarian and Grace.

The brutal party wars were temporarily ended in dramatic fashion by the military, which rolled its tanks into Harare on November 15, 2017 – after deciding that it had had enough of Mugabe and Grace.

By then, the G40 faction had succeeded in having Mnangagwa sacked from both the government and Zanu-PF – just as they had done with Mujuru in 2014, when she, together with other bigwigs such as Mutasa and Gumbo, were jettisoned.

The vicious brawling took a nasty turn when Mnangagwa was allegedly poisoned by his rivals during one of Grace’s high-octane youth interface rallies in Gwanda in 2017.

Mnangagwa’s fate was eventually sealed on November 6, 2017 when Mugabe fired his long-time lieutenant a few days after his allies had booed the irascible Grace during a tense rally at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.-DailyNews

Mliswa’s Constitutional Court Bid Hits Snag

By A Correspondent- Norton independent legislator Temba Mliswa’s bid to have his case referred to the Constitutional Court has hit a brick wall after a Harare magistrate threw out the request, saying it lacks merit and is meant to delay his trial.

Mliswa was arrested in February on allegations of violating Covid-19 regulations while addressing a press conference at his Borrowdale house.

The legislator’s lawyer Musindo Hungwe argued that the law was being selectively applied against his client as he was the only one who was arrested at the press conference which was also attended by 23 journalists and two police officers.

He said the application for referral to the Constitutional Court was premised on the need to determine, “whether singling out for arrest and prosecution of the applicant from amongst 23 persons allegedly gathered on the day in question amounts to discrimination and offends Section 56 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe”.

Hungwe said the gathering did not take place at a public place, but at Mliswa’s private residence.

“The accused’s residence is not covered in the statutory instrument which explains areas defined as public places. Gathering at home is not criminal,” Hungwe argued.

The State opposed the application, saying there were no constitutional issues, an argument Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti upheld.

Blessing Sande (38) and Hupenyu Chitsaka (30) appeared before Bindura magistrate Samantha Dhlamini facing  robbery and rape charges yesterday.

The state led by Shiella Maribha alleged on April 13 the duo stormed at the complainant’s house and struck her husband with an iron bar on the  back before he  fled.

The suspects got in the house and stole money, cell phones before force marching her to a mountain.

The complainant complied and was forced to lie down for the suspects to take turns to rape her.

After the rape the complainant went back home and upon arrival she met her husband and narrated her ordeal.

The husband teamed up with other villagers armed with axes, machetes and iron bars.

They tracked the suspects and meted instant justice on the two.

After realizing that they had injured the suspects they went with them to the police station.

Mzilikazi Quartet Nabbed Over Robbery

By A Correspondent- Four men have been arrested for allegedly assaulting and demanding money from a passerby accusing him of damaging their car’s rear windscreen in Mzilikazi suburb.

Khumalo Mabutho (36), Themba Mpofu (29), Nkanyiso Moyo (18) and Mayibongwe Ncube (25) of Mzilikazi allegedly attacked the complainant when he was coming from work on Sunday.

The incident occurred on at around 7PM near house number G216 Mzilikazi where one of the accused persons, Ncube resides.Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Abedinico Ncube confirmed the incident yesterday.

He said the complainant, whom police did not identify, was walking along a street in Mzilikazi when he heard a sound. When he checked he noticed that the windscreen of a Silver Spacio Toyota registration number ADB 1687 parked at Ncube’s residence had been shattered.

“The complainant walked towards the car to see what was transpiring and he was approached by the quartet who accused him of smashing their car’ rear windscreen,” said Insp Ncube.

He said the quartet took turns to assault the complainant using bottles, fists and a belt. They searched and took a wallet from the complainant’s trouser pocket which had   US$16 and $100.

“The quartet ordered the complainant to get into their car and drove to the complainant’s place of residence and demanded US$150 from the complainant which they claimed it was for replacing the damaged rear windscreen of the car,” said Insp Ncube. He said the complainant’s wife, whom they did not identify gave the quartet US$40 and they drove away.

LIVE: ‘Apostle’ Chiwenga Prophesies Future Of Zimbabwe Govt Changes, After Ditching “Own 2018-Chigubhu”.

VIDEO LOADING BELOW….

Meanwhile, below is a prediction by the controversial preacher Talent Chiwenga over the future of Zimbabwe.

  • COMMENTARY:

Before the 2018 elections, Talent Chiwenga was saying the same thing and then quickly changed just before the polls, to begin declaring: CHIGUBHU CHICHIRIKUSUKWA (a container is still being cleaned so it requires more time). Today he introduces another prophecy..

He used these prophecies to chop away Nelson Chamisa’s gullible followers for himself.

In Aug 2018, he after seeing journalist Simba Chikanza’s LIVE conversation with his cousin, began prophesying saying Mnangagwa didn’t send soldiers to shoot people on 1 August, announcing that the self confessing Kuwadzana butcher is clueless on what happened on 1 August – concerning these events the nation saw on live ZBC broadcasts, he said the opposite happened, exonerating Mnangagwa and blaming his cousin. He called all this prophecy. Such lies were the very cause why victims went to the Motlanthe Commission and some are still attending courts to this day. Is his lying god that idiotic not to see the truth chased after by the suffering victim families to this day?

This year after announcing that his so called gospel controls the politics of this country, he has come out to ask the masses to campaign for his life which he says is in danger of assassination following 2 accidents which he openly confesses that he caused and in which 6 people were killed over a 2 year period. He now announces saying the accidents were Assassination attempts on his life and titles his apologetic, prophecy from God Almighty.

In February, his mother in law, Vivian Yafele revealed that before the accident that killed his wife, in which he was the driver, he had over the 3 years prior this, secretly married a small house Tariro Mafuka who he smuggled to South Africa and the latter would only return just after the Chatsworth- Masvingo Road accident. He served her papers and lied to her that he had copied Simba Chikanza, issuing her. 30 day demand which period has since expired at end of March.

He is also known for announcing saying truck drivers are lazy, adding that a person who gets to the age of 40 driving a truck is in a worthless career.

Mwonzora In Direct Talks With ED

By A Correspondent- MDC president Douglas Mwonzora claims that he is in direct talks with President Emmerson Mnangagwa as he pushes for the much-needed all-inclusive dialogue to address the country’s decades-long political and economic challenges.

Mwonzora made the remarks on Tuesday while responding to Parliament’s Privileges Committee’s report which has recommended harsh and stiff penalties for opposition legislators who denigrate Mnangagwa by heckling, remaining seated or walking out whenever he enters or exits the august House.

The opposition leader believes there is no need to pursue punitive measures since the MDC is now engaging with Mnangagwa in the hope there can be talks to end Zimbabwe’s political and economic challenges.

“Three weeks ago, the same president (Mnangagwa) invited me to accompany him to Victoria Falls for a vaccination programme and I did.

“So, there is movement, there is convergence, there is a meeting place between myself as a leader of my group and the president as a leader of his party.

“The two are talking together and the effect of this report is to drive us apart. So, in my respectful view, there is no longer any need for this,” Mwonzora told the National Assembly.

“This new leadership has now said we must get rid of the politics of hate, politics of hunger, politics of acrimony, politics of polarisation and replace it with the politics of rational disputation and tolerance. These MPs have been exemplary in their debates.

“They have now said what matters to us is not whether this issue came through Zanu-PF or through MDC but what is important is what is in the best interest of the Zimbabwean people.

“They have done that. They have opposed where it is supposed to be opposed and supported where in their estimation, they were supposed to support.”

Mwonzora blasted MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa, saying he forced opposition members to disrespect Mnangagwa.

“This country, and especially this Parliament, has been subjected to some of the worst behaviours ever. The reason was we had a leadership that did not listen to us and had its own orientation.”-DailyNews

ED Accuses Chamisa, Biti Of Being Destructive

By A Correspondent- Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa called for unity as the country marked 41 years of independence on Sunday.

But the president also accused the opposition leader of being destructive, and the opposition fired right back, saying the president and his party are violent against the people.

In a wide-ranging interview aired on national television to mark the country’s independence, Mnangagwa called on Zimbabweans to unite so that the country can prosper.

Asked about Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the main opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change Alliance, the 78-year-old leader said, “Well, you have mentioned this one Zimbabwean, you forget that him and his vice president [Tendai Biti] went to America to ask for sanctions to continue to be imposed on Zimbabwe.

“So, before they cut that cord with the Americans it is difficult to be proper Zimbabweans! I still believe that Mr. Chamisa is a young Zimbabwean, he still has that opportunity to positively contribute to his country if he puts aside the vision for violent demonstrations against his country, being destructive.”

Independence celebrations were muted this year with most of the usual festivities canceled due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

Clifford Hlatshwayo, the spokesman for the opposition Movement for Democratic Change Alliance, dismissed the remarks by Mnangagwa saying his party was more peaceful than the ruling Zanu-PF.

“MDC Alliance has been the victims of violence. The people of Zimbabwe are victims of violence perpetrated by Zanu-PF! Orchestrated, organised and sponsored by Zanu-PF government! It is an open secret that Mnangagwa and Zanu-PF are the archbishops of violence, they’re archbishops of causing harm within the Zimbabwean communities,” Hlatshwayo said.

For the past two decades, Zimbabwe’s government has often used force to shut down opposition rallies and protests and intimidate MDC supporters ahead of elections. The violence triggered Western sanctions against Zimbabwean officials and their allies that have yet to be lifted.

There were varying reactions to Mnangagwa’s accusation of the opposition as a violent party. Twenty-seven-year-old Stallos Sithole dismissed the call for unity.

“So, for Emmerson in my view to say that we want unity he has been the center of violence. For the past 41 years Zimbabwe has never seen peaceful elections, has never had an uninterrupted decade without violence, so we have always been engaged in these vicious cycles of violence. For Emmerson to operate as a peace builder and someone who can unify aggressive forces is utter dross and hogwash for me as a young person,” Sithole said.

Lameck Shiri is a vegetable vendor in Harare.

Shiri said, “So, the president’s interview, the independence interview to me it shows that Zimbabweans are a diverse people because there are some issues, he discussed which are generally full of loopholes but at the same time, there are other issues which he addressed which show that there have been some strides that have been made by the Zanu-PF government under Mnangagwa though on the little political freedom and expression of free speech has been curtailed.”

Mnangagwa, who took over from the late Robert Mugabe in 2017, says Zimbabweans are now enjoying more rights and freedoms than under his predecessor. In his Independence Day address, Mnangagwa promised a brighter and more prosperous Zimbabwe.-VOA

Frank Buyanga In Soup As Interpol Issues Red Notice

Millionaire businessman Frank Buyanga has been placed on Interpol’s Red Notice at the request of Zimbabwean police, freshly-leaked documents show.

The 41-year-old gold coins trader – who has squared off with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his family – is accused of abducting his six-year-old son in March last year before skipping the country.

According to a 21-page file of police documents, there is frenetic communications between police investigators, their bosses, Interpol and even the foreign ministry as authorities seek his extradition from South Africa.

Contained in the documents is a June 2020 letter from Interpol which confirms that Buyanga was placed on Interpol’s Red Notice following a written request from Zimbabwean police sent on May 4, 2020. The letter to the officer commanding Law and Order in Harare was signed by an Assistant Commissioner S.G. Ndou, the deputy director of Interpol Harare.

An Interpol Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and apprehend a person of interest. Typically, this happens when the suspect presents at an airport of a participating country.

Buyanga’s listing had until now been unknown outside the small circle of investigators and prosecutors because Interpol did not publish his name on its website – a deliberate tactic to avoid spooking a target who is less likely to travel if they become aware of a Red Notice against their name.

Last weekend, a US$3 million Bugatti Chiron owned by Buyanga was seen being driven on the streets of Cape Town, tailed by two top-of-the-range BMWs. It was not clear if he was in any of the vehicles, as videos and pictures posted on Twitter did not show the drivers.

It was speculated last week that Buyanga, who was claimed in court papers that his companies conduct business worth 2 percent of South Africa’s GDP every year, had fallen on hard times after he put up one of his houses in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, up for sale for R18 million (US$1.2 million).

Buyanga has a long-running custody battle for their son with his ex-girlfriend Chantelle Muteswa, which has been to every court in Zimbabwe.

Last year, the British-born tycoon showed reporters an entry into a visitors’ book at State House, claiming Muteswa went to meet Auxillia Mnangagwa, the president’s wife.

Buyanga subsequently accused Muteswa of being in a romantic affair with the first family’s twin son, Collins. This was followed by further allegations – denied by the Mnangagwas – that they were interfering with law enforcement and judges to frustrate his efforts to gain custody of his son.

The drama took a shock turn on March 26 last year when the couple’s son, who was a passenger in a Honda Fit parked outside a supermarket in Harare, was grabbed movie-style and driven away at high speed.

Muteswa filed a police complaint, accusing Buyanga of being behind the abduction. Hours later, Buyanga wrote to police stating that he had, days earlier, filed his own complaint that his son had been abducted from a school by Muteswa, and no action had been taken.

He said in his letter to Highlands police: “I filed a police report for contempt of court with you on March 11, 2020, after the mother of my son, Chantelle Muteswa, failed to comply with a court order which states that my access was extended to allow me to give accommodation to the minor child and sped off with the child.

“I hereby write this letter to notify you that I have recovered my son at Parktown shops in Harare.”

The police documents obtained by ZimLive show that if Buyanga is successfully extradited, he will face three charges of kidnapping, robbery and contempt of court.

The robbery charge relates to a claim by Muteswa that she lost a handbag containing US$2,000 when Buyanga allegedly snatched their son. The contempt of court charge, police say, relates to an April 17, 2020, ruling of the High Court ordering Buyanga to return the child to Muteswa, which he has failed to comply with.

Buyanga’s lawyers have written to Interpol insisting that the Zimbabwean authorities’ pursuit of him is driven by Mnangagwa and his family, and he would not get justice if extradited.

Buyanga also faces legal troubles in South Africa after the South African Revenue Service (SARS) seized gold coins weighing over 565kg, personal jewellery, watches and other property during a raid at the Hyde Park home of his girlfriend, which he has now put up for sale.

The Kruger coins are worth over R600 million (US$40 million), Buyanga said in a Pretoria High Court filing where he is demanding their return.

That matter is pending.

Pregnant Mother Face Much Higher Risk Of Death If Infected With Covid-19

A recent study has indicated that pregnant women infected with COVID-19 face much higher risks of severe, death and deadly complications during childbirth.

Researchers found that ill mothers-to-be had a 76 percent higher risk of developing preeclampsia – a pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure – and 59 percent more likely to give birth prematurely, requiring their infants to spend more time in neonatal intensive care units.

Moreover, the study, published in JAMA Pediatrics, also indicates that infected pregnant women were 22.3 times more likely to die during pregnancy than women without the illness. The international team, led by the University of Oxford in the UK, says the findings affirm previous research on the effects of the virus on pregnant women and show the importance of making sure this high-risk group gets vaccinated.

The team looked at more than 2 100 pregnant women who were treated between March 2020 and October 2020 from 18 countries including France, India, Italy, Japan, the UK and the U.S.

Dr Aris Papageorghiou, a professor of fetal medicine at the University of Oxford in England and the co-author, told UPI that pregnant women with COVID-19 face a number of risks including:

  • Direct risks of the virus itself – needing to go to intensive care and have respiratory support,
  • Higher risks of hypertension and pre-eclampsia and effects of medical interventions such as preterm birth.

Co-author Dr Michael Gravett, a professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, highly recommended that all pregnant women receive the COVID-19 vaccines.

A CDC study that looked at 35 000 pregnant women who have received either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna coronavirus vaccines showed rates of miscarriage, stillbirth, complications, birth defects and premature birth were all comparable between women who had the shots and those who had not. Results showed:

  • Expecting mothers with COVID-19 were 3.3 times more likely to develop severe illness and five times more likely to be admitted to intensive care units.
  • Fever and shortness of breath – common coronavirus symptoms –  were linked to 2.56 greater risk of maternal complications and 4.97 times higher risk of complications for newborns.
  • Those diagnosed with coronavirus were 76 percent more likely to develop preeclampsia and 59 percent more likely to give birth prematurely.-DailyMail

Mnangagwa Splurges On Expensive Toys, Helicopter, While Nation Burns | Luke-ing the Beast in the Eye

Helicopter

…… as the dear leader buys US$18 million copter to fly over the national rot

By Luke Tamborinyoka | A parent’s aptitude is determined by their priorities. As teachers and other civil servants table legitimate grievances regarding their grossly inadequate salaries and parlous living circumstances, Emmerson Mnangagwa has chosen to prioritise a new toy in the form of a US$18 million helicopter exclusively for himself.

The priority is not only insensitive but grossly shocking. It shows that the man in charge has stridently crossed the madness datum line. Buying a plane while the basic social services of health and education have collapsed is skin to fiddling while Rome burns.

Indeed, a US$18 million personal aviation toy amid this crisis is the clearest evidence yet that our murderous leader may now be unhinged.

The health sector is groaning under a weighty crisis in which the national referral hospitals do not even have bandages and painkillers. Doctors and health services staff have been on strike for the past three years, with the clueless government deciding to solve the problem by doing absolutely nothing about it. Yet the dear leader has put a premium on an expensive chopper to enable him to soar above the national crisis—literally.

It is certainly not the so-called sanctions. It is this gross insensitivity and misplaced priorities that are at the epicentre of the stinking national rot.

Surely, how does a caring leader, even one who pretends to care, buy himself a US$18 million chopper in the middle of such a gargantuan national crisis?

Some two months ago, I was reading A Promised Land, Barack Obama’s memoirs published in 2020 in which the former US President said institutions and people can be judged on the basis of where and how they spend their time, their energy and their money (TEM) . I found that to be very insightful. Mnangagwa’s expensive air toy is an apt verdict of where this regime spends its money. That a whole President a few weeks ago busied himself with opening a very narrow bridge—an enterprise that could have been done by a councillor—just goes to show how our cheaply our dear leader spends his time. One of these good days, I may be tempted to reveal shocking details of how ED and his associates in the presidium have been spending their energy in the palatial bedrooms adjoining the Presidential offices at Munhumutapa building along Samora Machel Avenue, an inadequacy for which they only sacrificed Kembo Mohadi while they are all guilty.

Talk of time, energy and money as the calculus to determine and judge personalities and institutions, including governments.

Our dear leaders have been armorously expending their energy in government offices, far away from the zone of the key grievances affecting the country’s citizens.

Apart from the helicopter, Mnangagwa’s purchased toys include surrogate turncoat political leaders who he has used tried to use in his vain effort to decimate a people’s party called the MDC Alliance as well as tearing asunder a people’s Constitution, made and affirmed by the people themselves in a referendum.

We have a serious crisis afflicting and engulfing the nation…Yet our dear leader thinks a personal chopper is top priority.

The late iconic musician Simon Chimbetu may have been nicknamed “Chopper”. But it appears the name now has a new claimant. The message emanating from Emmerson “Chopper” Mnangagwa’s US$18 million air toy is very clear: The illegitimate President has finally chosen to fly over the crisis and not not to solve it.

Shock As Boy(16) Stabs Classmate

IN a dramatic incident, a Form Four pupil at Lobengula High School in Bulawayo stabbed his classmate on the shoulder with an okapi knife as punishment for poking fun at him while in class.

According to a source at the school, the mini-drama which lasted about 10 minutes happened on Monday outside the school premises.

The source said while Mike Siziba (16) and his classmate Simbarashe Manjokota were a few metres away from the school premises, heading home, their fellow classmate Keith Mlauzi (17) approached them while huffing in heavy anger.

“He started accusing Mike of being in the habit of poking fun at him when in class thereby belittling him. The situation became tense as the angry Keith started to push and shove Mike,” said a teacher who requested strict anonymity.

The situation spiralled out of control and Keith being on a mission to settle a score, fumbled in his pocket and took out a knife and stabbed Mike on the shoulder.

“He left the knife stuck on his shoulder and ran away. Mike writhed in agony. Luckily a senior teacher arrived at the scene and rendered first aid on him before he phoned an ambulance which came after about 30 minutes. He was ferried to Mpilo Central Hospital where he was treated,” said the teacher.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident: “We arrested a 17-year-old student who stabbed his classmate after he accused him of poking fun at him in class. Man Accuses Wife Of Killing Baby

AN abusive man from Mabutweni Suburb who accused his estranged wife of allegedly having killed their minor child tied her to the bed before beating her up with a belt.

Evernice Jacha said after the death of their child, her life was plunged into misery as her husband Tineyi Chamwaita would accuse her of being the reason behind the child’s death. He would also label her a prostitute.

Her marital woes mounted when she discovered that her husband had secretly married another woman. When she confronted him about the issue, he turned violent.

As a way of fixing her, he would tie her to their bed and hit her several times with a belt. As if that was not enough, he would also punch her with fists all over the body.

Seeing that she could not bear the abuse, Jacha had to seek refuge at her parents’ place. But Chamwaita would phone her while threatening to kill her.

He would also shout at her while accusing her of joining forces with her mother in killing their child. Having suffered enough of her husband’s abuse, Jacha sought a protection order against him.

“I’m applying for a protection order against my husband Tineyi Chamwaita. Our problems started soon after the death of our minor child. He would accuse me of having a hand in the death of the child.

“He would then tie me to the bed and hit me with a belt. Having failed to withstand the abuse I went back to my parents’ house and he would be phoning me while threatening to kill me. He also accused me of having connived with my mother to kill our minor child,” she said.

Jacha added: “I no longer want him near me. May this honourable court grant me a protection order so that he would stop abusing me and my mother.”

Chamwaita did not attend the court session, leading the presiding magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube to grant Jacha an interim protection order which compels her husband not to phone her or visit her at her parents’ place.- B-Metro

Man Hangs Self At In-laws Homestead

A 30-YEAR-OLD man from Chakaipa Village under Chief Gwesela in Zhombe hanged himself at his in-law’s homestead following a misunderstanding with his wife over infidelity.

Peter Mlauzi hanged himself after discovering that his wife Blessing Manokore was having an affair. Chief Gwesela confirmed the development to B-Metro saying the village was still shocked by the incident.

“Mlauzi’s actions shocked the whole village and we’re still trying to come to terms with this unusual incident.

Chief Gwesela said on the fateful day, Mlauzi discovered that his wife was having an affair with another man from the village.

Proposed Measures by ATU and Ericsson Set to Expand Africa’s ICT Space

Zimbabwe has today joined 45 other African Countries and telecommunications stakeholders to launch the first set of ATU spectrum recommendations that focus on transforming Africa into a knowledge economy through the development of technologies that boost connectivity and innovation. The spectrum recommendations are as a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and ATU to help fast-track the roll out of technology across the continent.

In Africa today, a limited amount of Spectrum is allocated to the mobile industry as well as other sectors of communication to facilitate the transmission of wireless signals. The launched spectrum recommendations outline the importance of awarding the radio spectrum in countries across Africa in a timely, predictable and cost-effective fashion so as to support affordable, high-quality delivery of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services and spur smart technology initiatives. The recommendations also establish the idea that licensing should be technology-neutral and allow for service innovations.

The new spectrum recommendations further encourage African countries to enable spectrum sharing by giving licensees the right to share their spectrum voluntarily through various means such as trading and national roaming agreements. Additionally, African countries through the recommendations, are urged to adopt a licensing approach aimed at promoting the right mix of low, mid and high radio band spectrum to ensure that all communications service providers (CSPs) have access to spectrum amounts and type that allows for the development of a variety of use cases and caters to enterprise and customer demands.

Speaking during the launch Ceremony, the ATU Secretary General Mr. John OMO reiterated the importance of the recommendations saying, “The launch of these recommendations is a joint effort aimed at expediting the rollout of ICT driven technologies for the development of digital economies in Africa.” Mr. John OMO’s sentiments were also shared by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications of Cameroon, Mrs. LIBOM LI LIKENG born MENDOMO AWOUMVELE Minette who officiated the launch event where she affirmed that the new measures compliment African countries’ continued growth in mobile broadband.

The recommendations come at a time when Africa is looking to harness ICT driven innovation, with a rapid rise in usage of technology and smartphones. The November 2020 Ericsson Mobility Report projects that by 2026, mobile broadband subscriptions in Sub-Saharan Africa will increase to up to 76 percent.

Fadi Pharaon, President of Ericsson Middle East Africa, said, “Fostering agility and innovation from next generation ICT infrastructure is important for Africa’s growth and sustainability.” He went ahead to reiterate the importance of spectrum management strategies highlighted in the recommendations saying that they can be considered as opportunities to accelerate Africa’s digitalization and set #AfricaInMotion.

Following the launch of the recommendations, ATU will work with countries and all the stakeholders across the continent to support the implementation process. The aim is for African countries to release the recommended spectrum and license it to the national telecommunications operators in a cost-effective manner. This would enable the customer service providers (CSPs) to serve the demands of increasing communication needs and prepare them to deliver new technologies such as 5G, which look to revolutionize industries, enterprise, and consumers alike.

The harmonized and globally aligned frameworks as envisaged by ATU and Ericsson will assist African countries in spectrum management activities that will accelerate the cost-efficient rollout of ICT. – Agencies

Robbers Force Kids Out Of Stolen Car

A 31-year-old Glen View man lost his gold Toyota Corolla Bubble and US$200 cash to armed robbers who forced out his two children sitting in the car at their home on Tuesday night.

The man had left the keys on the ignition while his two children were playing in the car at around 9pm.

Police say the money was stashed in the dashboard of the car, when the two armed robbers attacked. They confronted the two children before ordering them to get out of the vehicle and drove off. A report was made to police.

No arrests have been made so far and investigations are in progress. National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi warned motorists against leaving their vehicles unattended or leaving the keys on the ignition as the vehicle might end up being stolen.

“Members of the public are warned against complacency. On April 20, 2021 at about 2100hrs, a Glenview man aged 31 parked his gold Toyota Corolla Bubble vehicle, registration number ADV 6423 at his home with the keys on the ignition and leaving two minors playing in the car.

“Two unknown suspects approached the car and ordered the infants to disembark before they stole the vehicle with US$200 in the dashboard. Investigations are underway,” he said.

Asst Comm Nyathi said police will remain firm on the ground to thwart any criminal activities such as armed robberies which are on the rise.

This year, police have arrested some serial armed robbers behind a spate of criminal activities countrywide. Many were recently released on bail pending appeal at the High Court.

Last week, two suspected armed robbers who were part of a gang that recently blocked a motorist in Harare before robbing him of over US$5 700 were arrested in Mbare.

The robbery occurred on April 11 along Glenara Avenue in Harare around 2am and the two suspects are Simbarashe Maonera (25) and Nerbson Katsande (49).

One of Zimbabwe’s most wanted armed robbery suspects believed to be part of Musa Taj Abdul’s gang, Conwell Junior Kasambarare (26) was rearrested last week on allegations of committing a spate of heists countrywide.

Kasambarare of Budiriro 2, Harare, was arrested together with his two alleged accomplices, Luckson Mudyara (47) of Budiriro 1 and Mike Chiyangwa (32) of Old Highfield.

In February, police launched a manhunt for Kasambarare after he was released last year on bail and is believed to have been part of a gang committing armed robberies countrywide. His other suspected accomplice, Spicer Takawira, was recently arrested on charges of house housebreaking and theft.

Kasambarare, Takawira together with Leo Mandaza, Godwin Kusikwenyu and another one only identified as Chamu, recently committed seven cases of housebreaking and theft in Harare.

Takawira, Musafare Mupanhanga and Kasambarare are also alleged to be part of the gang that raided Mashwede Holdings last year and got away with over US$100 000, R42 000, $14 000 worth of fuel coupons, firearms and 20 live rounds of ammunition.

They were released on bail pending appeal at the High Court last year and have since gone into hiding.

Kasambarare, Mudyara and Chiyangwa are being implicated in an armed robbery case which occurred in Highfield where they stole 17 car batteries. -Herald

Forgiven Prisoner Steals Face Lotion

An unrepentant thief who was recently released from prison through the Presidential Amnesty is back in jail just a few days after being pardoned after he stole a bottle of face lotion from OK Supermarket in Victoria Falls.
It appears Raison Chenjere (23) of 1084 Chinotimba has a knack for breaking into shops as his previous conviction on which he was pardoned on involved unlawful entry at theft at Sawanga Mall in Victoria Falls.

He had served more than a third of his jail term when he was recently released on Presidential Amnesty. A few days after his release, Chenjere entyered OK Supermarket and stole a bottle of bio oil.

He was arrested after an alert security spotted that he was hiding something under his armpit and searched him upon which the product valued at $690 was recovered.

Chenjere pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared before Victoria Falls magistrate Ms Linda Dzvene yesterday.

The magistrate sentenced Chenjere to six months in prison before bringing into effect one month that was suspended in November.

In mitigation, Chenjere said he stole because he was hungry and wanted to sell it to raise money to buy food as he had not eaten anything since his release from prison. Prosecuting Mr Asher Chindedza said Chenjere stole from OK Supermarket on Independence Day.

“On the 18th of April at OK Supermakret in Victoria Falls, the accused person entered the shop and took one bio oil skin care and put it inside his shirt under the armpit and walked outside the shop,” said Mr Chindedza.

The court was told that security stopped and searched him as he had walked about three metres outside the shop leading to the recovery of the stolen product.

The security handed Chenjere to police leading to his arrest and the stolen product was recovered. -Chronicle

ZIMSEC hereby takes this opportunity to wish all the candidates the best of luck in their future studies and endeavours.

Military Commander Says I Didn’t Grab Farm.

General Valerio Sibanda

The Zimbabwe Defence Forces has dismissed reports in some sections of the media that ZDF commander, General Philip Valerio Sibanda, invaded Goede Hoop Farm in Mazowe.
In a statement yesterday, ZDF director public relations Colonel Teddy Ndlovu said the farm in question had not been allocated to General Sibanda, who had never visited the farm. However, one of the four sections of the farm had been divided into acquisition and had been allocated to the army and the police as corporate entities.

“The Daily News and NewsDay on April 12, 2021 published articles titled ‘Farmers sue army, police chiefs’ and ‘Matanga, Sibanda sued for land grab.’ The articles claimed that the General PV Sibanda and Commissioner General Godwin Matanga had been taken to court for grabbing Mazowe Farm.

“The true facts of the matter are as detailed below:

“The Livaditakis family has been abusing the court processes by repeatedly bringing frivolous applications based on the same allegations and arguments since 2017, each time thereafter abandoning their court applications. Their case has already been decided by the court on March 25, 2021 and dismissed since the Livaditakis failed to prosecute their case as they were in default,” he said.

Colonel Ndlovu said the family has now resorted to newspapers to pursue their baseless claims and in the process tarnishing the image and person of General Sibanda, the Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces and the Zimbabwe Defence Forces as an organisation.

He added that the fact of the matter is that the land in question is state land in terms of Section 27 of the Constitution. In pursuit of its constitutional mandate, the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement, subdivided the land into four subdivisions.

One of the subdivisions measuring 478 hectares was allocated to the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), and not General Sibanda as the report made the public to believe, and the other subdivision was allocated to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), and not Commissioner General Matanga as an individual, while the remaining portion was allocated to the Livaditakis family, the family at the centre of the incorrect reports.

“All these allocations were in terms of the Gazetted Land (Consequential Provisions) Act. Contrary to what the public is being made to believe by the story in the said publication, the Livaditakis family do not have any documents to show that they have title to or ownership to the land in question. They only have an offer letter for the sub-division allocated to them and this document does not confer rights to ownership of the land in question.

“Whilst the Livaditakis family’s argument is based on the Bilateral Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement(BIPPA), it must be noted that in terms of the law, BIPPA does not affect the legality of compulsory acquisition of land under the land reform programme.

“The fact that the reporters never bothered to verify the story with the Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces, the ZNA or the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement before publishing it reflects badly on their basic professionalism. It also reflects an ongoing sinister agenda to portray the ZDF and its command as unprofessional, lawless and unruly.”

Under BIPPA agreements land can still be acquired, but compensation agreements are different. Colonel Ndlovu said the story in question is defamatory and violates the personal integrity of General Sibanda as it contains falsehoods which purports that; the offer letter was issued to him in his personal capacity and that he invaded Goede Hoop Farm in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central in 2018 and demanded that the family vacates the premises as ownership has been transferred to them.

He said the story claims that General Sibanda “stormed the farm and told me that I need to leave the farm as the farm was now theirs” when in fact General Sibanda has never set foot at the said farm and never had any such conversation with anyone from Livaditakis family. – Herald

MDC Alliance Youth Assembly Calls For Release Of Hon Mamombe

Mwonzora Is A Fake Constitutionalist

Tinashe Sambiri|The MDC Alliance Youth Assembly Members has implored Zimbabweans to unite and fight for their Constitutional rights that are being impinged upon by Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.

Mr Mnangagwa and Douglas Togarasei Mwonzora have forged an unholy alliance calculated to tilt the political scale in the former’s favour.

Mwonzora surprised all and sundry when he endorsed the Constitutional Amendment Bill number 2.The bill seeks to give Mr Mnangagwa sweeping powers…

Below is the MDC Alliance Youth Assembly statement on Mwonzora’s endorsement of the Constitutional Amendment Bill…

From Co-chairing COPAC To Tearing Apart The Very Same Constitution: Mwonzora Takes People For Granted

21-04-2021

Yesterday, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa working in cahoots with his Trojan horse, Douglas Togarasei Mwonzora facilitated one of the worst political developments ever witnessed in this country.

The unthinkable happened as The House of Assembly passed Amendment No.2 Bill which all but surrender unfettered power to Mnangagwa to entrench his dictatorship.

Among other things, the draconian Bill would arm Mnangagwa to appoint judges without going through interviews, extend judges terms past 70 years age limit and more importantly removing the running mate clause.

It is very important to note that the current constitution was born out of an arduous and rigorous process that included serious consultations from citizens in town halls and under trees in rural areas.

That process was spearheaded by the Constitutional Parliamentary Committee (COPAC) which was ironically co-chaired by Mwonzora himself.

That Mwonzora is the same man who was at the forefront of the Constitutional Parliamentary Committee (COPAC) speaks volumes of his dishonest, insincere and chameleonic character.

Names do not lie!

Dambudzo and Togarasei need to be stopped fast in their tracks if democracy is to survive.

It is time to end their little game!

Mnangagwa Minister Threatens Teachers

Teachers who are not reporting for duty risk losing their salaries after Cabinet yesterday reiterated that the “no work, no pay policy” will be enforced to ensure all teachers report for work.

The decision follows reports that a number of teachers were not reporting for duty claiming incapacitation.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa confirmed the development yesterday at a post-Cabinet briefing.

“Cabinet was informed that the number of teachers reporting for duty had decreased,” she said.

“It is further noted that some of those reporting for duty are not teaching.

“Cabinet wishes to reiterate that negotiations for improved conditions of service remain open under the National Joint Negotiating Council and that the ‘no work, no pay policy’ will be strictly enforced.”

The Government offered a 25 percent salary increment to civil servants from this month while a further 50 percent would be effected in June.

Three weeks ago, Government met its employees and it outlined constraints being faced, emanating from a prolonged economic shutdown owing to the lockdown measures instituted to manage the Covid-19 pandemic, during which revenue generation was reduced to virtual insignificance.

Further, Government coffers are stretched since it is paying for vaccines, with the aim of administering doses to at least 10 million people to achieve herd immunity.

Government has set aside US$100 million to buy Covid-19 vaccines.- State Media

Mwonzora In Bed With Mnangagwa

By James Gwati-MDC-T President Douglas Mwonzora has now become a darling of the ruling Zanu PF government and is now being included in President Emmerson Mnangagwa state programmes.

Two weeks ago Mwonzora was with Mnangagwa in Victoria Falls when the President got his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and again today, the MDC-T leader followed Ngwena to Kwekwe where he was receiving his second dose of the vaccine.

Mwonzora’s presents in Kwekwe was confirmed by the state media which described him as the “official” opposition leader.

Two Cops Gang Rape Girl (13)

By A Correspondent- Two Zimbabwe Republic Police Constables are on the run for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl, Nhau has learnt.

A police internal memo seen by Nhau states that, Constable Wilber Bwanali (27) who is stationed at Featherstone Duty Uniform Branch (DUB) allegedly fell in love with the young person in August 2020 and had sexual intercourse with her once.

In November 2020 before being transferred to Featherstone, Cst Bwanali visited the girl again at her house when she was alone.

He entered her room, “grabbed and pushed her on the bed and raped her once” reads the memo.

According to the memo another member also at large is Constable Kundai Pachirera stationed at ZRP Chikurubi Support Unit headquarters.

He is being charged for having sexual intercourse with a young person.

Sometime in August 2020 Cst Pachirera visited the girl at their house during the day when she was alone and they had sexual intercourse in her bedroom with her consent.

The girl did not report the matter to anyone until her mother discovered that she was infected with a sexually transmitted disease.

Further scrutiny led her to disclose what had transpired leading to the infection.

A report was made at ZRP Highlands on April 17, 2021 and no arrest was made as both policemen are allegedly on the run.

The girl was referred to Parirenyatwa hospital for treatment and investigations are in progress. Nhau/Indaba

“Zimbabwean Media Under Siege”

By Leonard Koni- There are no limits to the depths this inept and rag tag regime is willing to sink.

On the 3rd of May 2021 the globe shall be commemorating the World Press Freedom Day and thus the time to reflect on how the media is functioning globally.

The Zimbabwe’s media is under siege especially the state media which has been captured and we have noticed political vultures stampeding to constantly interfere with the editorial system.

Forty one years into independence Zimbabwe still boasts of one television station and ironically it is controlled by the state.

For many years the state media’s role has been compromised to such an extent that about 80% of the content is either reporting on the President or the revolutionary party Zanu PF.

It is the duty of the public media to report responsibly and not to tow along political party lines.

The Herald newspaper and ZBC-TV have on several occasions used to propagate party politics thereby starving the majority on developmental stories.

It’s a shame and tragic that some so called media personnel have been willing to prostitute the noble profession for a few crumbs of bread falling from the table of the tyranny’s feeding trough.

I have been following the current political events in Zimbabwe from the interview President Emmerson Mnangagwa held with Voctoria Ruzvidzo and Merit Munzwewembiri when they called Nelson Chamisa the leader of the main opposition political party in Zimbabwe, a child standing aloof and who needed a sjambok to whip him into line.

Generally such statements are a very good breeding ground to fan violence amongst the people, are out of order and undermine the leader of the opposition and his millions of followers.

Like minded a lot of members of the opposition are
labelled puppets of the west by those who are bleeding and looting the country dry together with their brain washed journalists who always sing for their supper.

Surprisingly such a shoddy and boring interview came when people were celebrating the attainment of a protracted independence and Zimbabweans expected a more robust, unique and unifying interview.

One could notice that Robert Mugabe’s independence interviews were sounding more intelligent and entertaining than what we have witnessed.

The trio Mnangagwa ,Ruzvidzo and Munzwewembiri failed to read the mood on the ground and were caught offside. They failed to live up the interview and to read between the lines. We know its a straitjacket to serve in such kind of an institution.

My view is that the pre- recorded interview was half baked and not up to scratch. It was actually in bad state and divided the nation on political and social grounds. Instead of uniting the nation, these two journalists actually connived to suppress democracy, individual freedoms and human rights.

Unfortunately the journalists failed to ask strong questions on matters affecting the country like corruption, harassment of political activists and grants for the people who have been adversely affected by the Covid19 virus.

Unfortunately the two political agents masquerading as journalists were both driven by insatiable appetite to bootlick the President.

Zimbabwe still have a very long way to  achieving an independent state of respecting each other’s political ideologies and to live without racial and tribal divisions.

With such kind of journalists at the helm and their irresponsible statements they are likely to cause alarm and dispondency coups d’etat and civil strifes like what happened to the irresponsible Radio Rwanda which caused the 1993 genocide.

They must strive to report and ask questions to do with economical development, incarceration of members of the opposition and the level of oppression which is escalating in the country on daily basis. The mutilation and molestation of our constitution to further the selfish interests

At one time I thought President Mnangagwa was going to correct the journalist but he also lost the opportunity to preach unity and to respect his political opponent who gave him a good run for his money.

Its time for the government to free the air waves and register more media players to pave way for other competitors. It must stop monopolising the media. Competition is very health in the sense that it breeds quality and variety of products.

ZIMSEC Records Dismal A-Level Results, Blames COVID-19

By A Correspondent- The country has recorded a dismal 2020 A-Level pass rate and blamed the poor performance by student to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing a media conference in Harare this afternoon, ZIMSEC board chair Eddie Mwenje said the pass rate for this year declined by 2.1 percent compared to the previous year.

However, Prof Mwenje applauded learners’ performance saying it was good despite the fact that learners barely attended school due to covid-19 lockdowns.

Open Letter To ZACC- “Hundreds Go To Bed On Empty Stomachs”

This is an open letter to ZACC challenging the said commission flex its muscles and take a bold step towards ending the rampant looting of government inputs and drought relief packages by Murowa ward councillor’s brigade.

Hundreds of poor villagers go to bed on empty stomachs as the government sourced grain and mealie meal is being looted by the greedy and unscrupulous councillor’s committee.

On each delivery this looting brigade get at least 10 bags each amounting to 20 bags per month.

The most bizzare thing being done by this looting brigade is allocating the mealie meal and maize grain to teachers and gainfully employed people at the expense of orphans, the old, the sick and the disabled.

We really wonder why teachers are are recipients of social welfare handouts when they are getting salaries from the same government.

Talk of double dipping. These are the very same teachers who spend whole day castigating the government instead of conducting lessons. Our children have become masters of hate-politics as the few seconds teachers spend with pupils they will be talking politics nothing else.

It is not surprising at all that connected people in the diaspora are being allocated these social welfare stipends by the corrupt looting brigade.

We therefore call upon ZACC to descend heavily on this greedy unscrupulous looting brigade and their partners in crime village headmen.

Augur Underperformed On Airport Road, Says City of Harare

By A Correspondent| City of Harare has confirmed that it disagreed with the Kenneth Raydon Sharpe owned Augur Investments on the work done towards the construction of Airport Road but was overpowered by Local Government minister July Moyo who decided to pay the investor with state land.

In his response to a High Court challenge filed by Harare North legislator Allan Norman Markham and two others who wanted the Deed of Settlement authorizing the ‘fraudulent’ transfer of 273 hectares of land to Augur Investments OU as payment for work done on Airport road, City of Harare Acting Town Clerk, Engineer Mabhena Phakamile Moyo confirmed that they were not happy with the underperformance by the investor resulting in the cancellation of the agreement.

“There is tangible evidence that work was done on airport road although not to completion,” Engineer Moyo said.

“It is true that at some point council was not happy with underperformance by Augur. That is why it cancelled the agreement. It did so in consideration of what was best for the council,” he added.

Kenneth Raydon Sharpe, the man at the centre of the controversial land transfer

Moyo however let the cat out of the bag telling the court that City of Harare could not stop government from dishing land to Sharpe despite ‘things not having gone as expected’.

“From the information that I have gathered from some of the records relating to this transaction, the Deed of Settlement was entered in good faith and that it was made in the best interest of the public. Things may not have gone as expected but the original intention was to promote infrastructural development for the benefit of the public,” added Engineer Moyo.

He further confirmed that City of Harare who were originally the owners of the project were overpowered by government through the local government minister July Moyo who single-handedly facilitated the transfer of Stand 654 Pomona Township to Sharpe.

“The transfer of stand 654 Pomona Township is a bilateral contractual issue. Once the owner of the property decided to transfer the property I do not believe third parties can interfere. This was state land which the state decided to transfer to Augur. The City of Harare could not have stopped or refused that,” said Engineer Moyo.

In what reveals the dirty hands of the state, Engineer Moyo further told the court that City of Harare disagreed with Augur Investments on the value of work done while seeking to protect public interest but the owner of the land who in this case is the state decided to transfer it.

“It appears from the Council records that at some point the 5th respondent disagreed with Augur regarding the value of work done. Those matters were litigated upon and there are outcomes. So it is not as if the 5th respondent has not taken steps to protect the interest of the public regarding this transaction.

“It is true that stand 654 Pomona was state land and the state through the relevant ministry decided to transfer it. There is nothing that the 5th respondent could have done to stop that,” said Engineer Moyo.

In his application, Markham together with Jacob Pikicha and Tavonga Savings Scheme wants the land deal between City of Harare and controversial ‘land baron’ Sharpe to be reversed on the grounds that it was not only illegal but a “grand theft” of land belonging to the people of Zimbabwe.

Full Text MDC Alliance Calls For Immediate Release Of Hon Mamombe

Hon Joana Mamombe falls gravely ill at Chikurubi Maximum Prison, Mdc Alliance Namibia demands justice to the Mdc-A-Trio.

22 April 2021

Mdc Alliance Namibia district urges genuine revolutionaries to constitutionally pent up their outrage demanding the immediate release of our ardent and determined youthful leader Hon Joana Mamombe who has gravely fallen ill at the hell-hole of Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

It is now our moral obligation as a way of solidarity to legally demand an abrupt end to the state-sponsored incarceration, torture and inhuman treatment of our leaders Joana , Cecilia and other political prisoners including Cde Makomborero Haruzivishe who was imprisoned for mere whistling in town.

As a district, we are really cobra-headed to see our youthful, innocent and organic women languishing in prison when real looters of our national cake are walking free with impunity. It is sad to receive the bad news that Hon Joana Mamombe is currently suffering from acute stomach pain and no urgency has been displayed by the satanic regime to rush her to the hospital.

We suspect foul play from State apparatus who always fight all progressives in the Motherland.

Mdc Alliance Namibia appeals to the Sadc, African Union and the United Nations to intervene so that they can help us to defend the dissenting voices. This gross abuse of human freedoms must be confronted with equal measure. Bail is a Constitutional Right but it’s perturbing to learn that the innocent Hon MP has been denied bail several times.

It is not easy for these young girls and boys to stay at Chikurubi Maximum Prison for 45 days and remember Hon Joana, Cecilia and Netsai Marova were once victims of sexual harassment at the hands of suspected state agents in 2020. It is unacceptable, inhuman and unjust to keep these innocent young women in jail for addressing a press conference demanding justice to Cde Makomborero Haruzivishe.

Our Honourable has gone through a lot and we demand that she must be released and given her health care in a private hospital for safety. We suspect foul play from Zanupf morons since it has become their modus operandi.

In a nutshell, 45 days of incarceration for just expressing one’s public opinion is not only stupid but too satanic to accept. It is now imperative for all of us to constitutionally protect one another from this sadist government. Let’s brace for dangerous freedom against peaceful slavery.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, we demand justice and equality before the law. We need to legally and constitutionally confront Zanupf thugocrats to attain our total emancipation. We wish you a very speedy recovery Hon Joana Mamombe so that we can achieve socio-economic transformation together as genuine freedom fighters.
