Mosimane Celebrates Controversial Telkom Knockout Victory

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimana says he has no shame benefiting from the referee’s decision that denied Maritzburg United a late equaliser in the Telkom Knockout final on Saturday.

“My heart stopped, I thought it’s a goal, thank God I saw the linesman raising the flag, I don’t know if it’s offside or not, if it’s, I benefited and I have no shame!” Mosimane told SuperSport TV, according to Soccer Laduma.

“Some people have been getting all these benefits, I will get them, I want them for five games in a row. I’ve got no shame on that. It is the way it is in this Premier League, it’s a jungle!”

Mosimane was giving reference to some refereeing blunders that have happened in the South African PSL this season. One such incident went against his team in the 2-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in October.Soccer 24

Real Madrid, Valencia Share Spoils

Farai Dziva|A late goal from red hot forward Karim Benzema rescued Real Madrid from defeat in a 1-1 draw against Valencia in the 17th 1 of the ongoing La Liga season at Mestalla Stadium.

According to The Statesman, When it looked like Valencia were going to win the match with a one-goal difference, Benzema netted the equaliser in 90+5th minute, picking up a loose ball inside the area.

Zinedine Zidane’s men will go in to the Clasico level on points with Barcelona and on a run of 11 undefeated games.

Both the sides remained goalless in the first half.

In the second half, just when Madrid started attacking the opposition box with increased regularity, the Valencia goal arrived as Carlos Soler finished off a swift counter led by Wass in the 78th minute.

From then on, the Whites went all out in search of the equaliser, leaving spaces at the back. Their efforts paid dividend in the waning moments when Benzema drew the second and last blood of the game.

Notably, Barcelona were held by Real Sociedad to a 2-2 draw in a nail-biting La Liga match on Saturday as Blaugrana’s poor run at the Anoeta Stadium continued.

The draw had given Real Madrid a chance to take over the first place ahead of next week’s Clasico, but draw against Valencia has kept them at the second position.

Real Madrid play Barcelona in the most-awaited Clasico on December 18, Wednesday night.

Wives To Politicians Warned

By Angela Machonesa| I have received many direct messages saying, heee women rights activists….what what.. Musade kutiitisa, you want us when it pleases you WHY?

When we raise our voices against everyday struggles for women, you ridicule us and call us names. Now you want us to do miracles for WHOM?

Partriachy is a monster that should be uprooted from the roots..The country is on its knees because of such women who when they sit in high and corrupt bedrooms don’t move an inch for other women.

Dozens of pregnant women resorted to giving birth in Mbare Matapi, hospitals are closed. People are dying from hunger. In other countries the husband should have long resigned.

Our problem is we have allowed a mafia culture to reign supreme. This is Kharma with its ugly teeth.

Wives to corrupt politicians and corrupt female politicians be very warned, we will not stand with you in your moments of turmoil if you dont use the privilege you have now to fight for other citizens.

“They Are Fake Prophets”: Johane Masowe eChishanu Leader

By A Correspondent- Leader of the Johanne Masowe eChishanu Apostolic Sect Andby Makururu has accused prophets who claim to heal all ailments of being “fake prophets”.

He told a local publication on Friday that it was impossible for anyone to heal all ailments.

Makururu said he was engaging eye specialists to conduct outreach programmes within his church.

“I have realised that there are some prophets who claim that they can heal all kinds of ailments. This is not true,” Makururu said.

“This is the reason why some people are dying from cancer, HIV and Aids as well as other diseases.

“People don’t only survive on the spiritual side, there is always the flesh side.

“l said this thing of prophesying in 1985 and if you see a prophet who says l heal all ailments he is a fake prophet.”

The man of God believes there is need for people to seek medical help from experts.

“l am engaging doctors so that they come and assist members of our church with eye problems,” Makururu said.

“l realised that this is a major problem in my church. The spiritual side told me that l should do so because we have some people who can’t afford hospital fees.”

Makururu said they were also engaging the Health and Child Care ministry for approval.

He said apart from the medical outreach programmes, the church was coming up with projects aimed at empowering women.

“We are starting projects for women in my church. l am giving them money so that they can do bakery and poultry,” he said.

“l realised that domestic violence starts because women don’t have something to do.

“We are trying by all means to empower women while we are engaging government and development partners to assist us with funding.”

The Johanne Masowe eChishanu Apostolic Sect leader recently castigated churches, especially Apostolic sects involved in institutionalised rape.

The prophet also affirmed his determination to curb child marriages within religious groups.

Recently, Makururu led members of his church and other denominations in a march in Mutare meant to raise awareness on child marriages and drug abuse by the youths.

The man of God is expected to lead a similar march in Harare this month.

Makururu through his Ruvheneko Rwenyenyedzi Trust promised to transform indigenous churches to suit global trends and values, chief among them safeguarding the girl child.

“We Are Giving Dialogue, Peace A Chance”: Chamisa

By A Correspondent- MDC leader Nelson Chamisa told party supporters that he is keen on dialogue with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Addressing thousands of his supporters at Chisamba Grounds in Mutare’s Sakubva high-density suburb over the weekend, Chamisa said:

I need everyone to know that we are giving dialogue a chance because we want to give peace a chance.

But we will not be pursuing a dialogue in perpetuity. It has to be pursued within a limited period after which we pursue other means. We will give dialogue a chance … There is some talk going on slowly.

… If dialogue is done it will spell out the specific reforms that need to be done.

The opposition leader said the envisaged dialogue with Mnangagwa is not about forming a government of national unity (GNU), as happened in 2009, but that it will be about political reforms.

Meanwhile, Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga have hitherto insisted that Chamisa should join other losing presidential candidates under the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD).

Want Dialogue To Share Vision Not Power” Said Chamisa – Share What Vision When Don’t Even Have Common Sense

By Patrick Guramatunhu- Zimbabwe’s politicians are corrupt, incompetent and shallow and it is therefore not surprising that they are given to contradicting themselves. Here is one example of Chamisa tripping himself!

“I was pressured just go talk to ED, but as a leader I say we will have dialogue, but not for positions. We can only have dialogue to share a vision for our country, where we can have a future in which there are no rigged elections,” said Nelson Chamisa.

There is no one out there with even a half-working brain who still believe that MDC care about free, fair and credible elections. The party has occupied political centre stage for the last 20 years, had many golden opportunities to implement the reforms, and yet has nothing to show for it! Nothing!

SADC leaders pressured Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement agreeing to the need to implement a raft of democratic reforms designed to stop a repeat of the blatant cheating and wanton violence by Zanu PF witnessed in the 2008 elections.

The task of implementing the reforms was given to Morgan Tsvangirai, MDC Leader before Chamisa, and his fellow party leaders, including Chamisa.

Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders with ministerial limos, generous salaries, a US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai, etc. With their snouts in the feeding trough, not even the constant nagging by SADC leaders would get the MDC leaders to implement the reforms.

Chamisa insisted in participating in last year’s elections with no reforms in place and not even a verified voters’ roll. “MDC has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging elections,” he claimed.

Zanu PF went on to blatantly rig the elections, as we all know. Chamisa and his MDC friends contested the flawed elections out of greed, as David Coltart, MDC Treasurer General, readily admitted.

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the (2013) elections,” confessed Coltart in his book.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”

The political dialogue MDC has been calling for will lead to a power sharing arrangement, National Transition Authority (NTA), in which Chamisa and a few other MDC leaders expect a ministerial position.

The NTA will be a watered down version of the 2008 GNU in which Zanu PF will retain its 2/3 parliamentary majority, for example. The 2008 GNU failed to get even one reform implemented; it is naive to expect the NTA to do any better.

So the NTA will do nothing to advance the nation’s fight for free, fair and credible elections; if anything it will undermine the fight by creating the false hope that NTA will implement the reforms. The only reason Chamisa is hell bend in having the dialogue and the NTA is that it will secure for himself and other MDC leaders the coveted gravy train seats.

So Chamisa’s statement is an oxymoronic nonsense in that he is claiming to have a vision when he does not even have common sense and that the dialogue is not about political power when it is about nothing else!

Indeed, Zimbabwe is in this economic and political mess because the Zimbabwe electorate has proven to be breathtakingly naive and gullible and thus failed to hold the political leaders, from both sides of the divide, to account. A healthy and functional democracy demands an informed and diligent electorate; we need to sit up and pay attention if we are ever going to get out of this mess.

Mary has since arrived at the Harare Magistrates’ Court where she is expected to make her first court appearance. Her hands appear to be swollen.”

“Look Into The Doctors’ Welfare”: Newly Formed Doctors Association

By A Correspondent- The newly formed Doctor’s association the Progressive Doctors Association has invited the government to come to the negotiating table saying they can’t continue to watch as people die in public hospitals.

The matter came to light at the PDAZ launch on Saturday when the association president Benson Dandira said:

We therefore call upon our employer to seriously look into the doctors’ welfare not only in terms of remuneration but to approach it more holistically to ensure that the doctor can offer services without having to worry.

We implore the employer to come up with a meaningful offer, one they would be prepared to take themselves in order to ensure their sincerity in these negotiations. Our patients! Our patients! Our patients! The people that we took an oath to protect. We are mindful of the fact that all of us will be patients someday.

The Doctors represented by other associations like the ZHDA are on strike since 3 September.

“Mnangagwa Is A Great And Visionary Leader,” Kembo Mohadi

Mnangagwa with his two deputies Kembo Mohadi and Constantino Chiwenga

State Media|Zanu-PF members must take the lead in initiating national programmes enunciated by President Mnangagwa, Vice President Kembo Mohadi has said.

Vice President Mohadi also paid tribute to the President saying his visionary leadership would lead Zimbabwe to prosperity.

The Zanu-PF Second Secretary made the remarks while giving a vote of thanks at the Zanu-PF 18th Annual National People’s Conference in Goromonzi yesterday.

“Cde delegates, the deliberations of this conference are key markers of the progress we have to continue making as the ruling party Zanu-PF,” he said.

“We would like to appreciate the clarity that the keynote of His Excellency gives. It is an appropriate guidance to us all. The rejuvenation of the Zimbabwean economy is a priority to us all.

“We, as the ruling party, have to take lead in this race. We cannot delegate it to anyone else. We can only expect to make it in this race if we are led by a visionary and insightful person as in our President.”

VP Mohadi said President Mnangagwa’s vision for an upper middle income economy by 2030 was clear and candid.

“The President has, in a very clear and candid manner, articulated the direction that the party and the people of Zimbabwe have to take,” he said.

“We also acknowledge with gratitude that it is through His Excellency’s leadership and counsel that we are having such a successful conference.”

VP Mohadi said President Mnangagwa’s call for implementation of innovation-driven strategies will propel the country into a new era of development.

“A growth that is characterised by deliberate productivity, social and economic development contributes to comprehensive national strength, social cohesion and breeds national peace and unity,” he said.

The VP lauded President Mnangagwa for promoting national progress through this year’s conference theme.

Editorial Comment: Zanu-PF: A colossal party on upward trajectory

“From the 17th People’s Conference in Esigodini you have continued to make the call in the leadership of our national and economic development,” he said.

“We, as the ruling party, continue to hold our destiny in our own hands and the destiny of each one of us is linked to the nation. One can do well only when one’s country and nation is doing well.

“Thank you for reiterating that the global building of a prosperous economy has to be ushered by all of us.

“We thank you for presenting the theme ‘Modernise, Mechanise and Grow the Economy Towards Vision 2030’ with passion and precision.

“It will make the deliberations follow an engaging and fruitful path.”

He urged delegates to be guided by the President’s speech.

“Your vision will be achieved. For now we need to respond as a ruling party and as a people of Zimbabwe for all the vices that militate against us.

“Corruption, laziness and a negative work ethic are some of the vices that we need to eradicate.

“Further, peace is imperative to social inclusion for development and growth. We thank you for making peace a core component of our development agenda.”

Chiwenga Declared Marry’s Arrest And Imprisonment At ZANU PF Conference Before Her Arrest, Are The Courts Waiting To Endorse That?

Constantino Chiwenga addressing the ZANU PF conference last week.

Own Correspondent|Marry Chiwenga, wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga — is at the Harare Magistrates Court today on allegations of externalising US$1 million and fraudulently seeking to solemnise her marriage with neither the husband’s knowledge nor consent.

Mrs Chiwenga was on Saturday evening arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) for externalising foreign currency, money laundering and the fraud case regarding the marriage.

She was locked up at Rhodesville Police Station pending her court appearance today. Her husband literally declared her arrest and imprisonment just days before she was arrested.

Addressing delegates at the 18th Zanu-PF Annual National People’s Conference at Goromonzi High School last week, VP Chiwenga spoke unequivocally against corruption.

He urged the nation to walk the talk on corruption, saying all corrupt persons should be jailed.

“We need to be true patriots and loyal servants by shunning, resisting and exposing corruption, as well as ethically playing our expected roles in national development,” said VP Chiwenga.

“Nyaya yecorruption munopinda mujere. Iyi haina anokwanisa kuti ini handikwanisike nokuti ndakamira ndakadai. Saka tobva pano paGoromonzi tapinda mugwara.

“Usambofa wakati ini ndakashandira musangano. Wakashandira musangano, but teedzera gwara. Hatichadi kuona nyaya dzecorruption. Dzinofanira kuti dzipere (When it comes to corruption, there are no sacred cows. It must come to an end).”

Chiwenga and his ex model wife Marry are om the brink of a divorce after they had a nasty fallout when he was seriously ill and hospitalised in South Africa.

Family members and government officials say the fallout revolved around personal matters related to Marry’s behaviour and her attempt to have Chiwenga write a will, in which she would have been the largest beneficiary of the couple’s vast estate in the event that he dies.

At the time, most members of Chiwenga’s family, as well as government officials, had ruled out the general’s hopes of recovery. Senior Zanu PF officials had also begun jostling for his post, while others pushed for him to be dropped from government on the grounds that he was incapacitated.

Chiwenga and Marry have been living separately after the Vice-President moved into another house on arrival from China, where he was hospitalised for four months, before staging a remarkable recovery.

Can Mnangagwa Be Impeached?

A complete list of all the articles of impeachment against Mnangagwa in his two years in the presidency will fill a number of pages. I will just confine to just two high treason charges

  1. In plotting and executing the November 2017 military coup and then afterwards getting Chief Justice George Chiweshe to falsify declare the act “legal, justified and constitutional”. Whilst some have argued with some justification that it was the only way remove the dictator Robert Mugabe. The fact remains that it was nonetheless unconstitutional and threatened to throw the nation into even greater instability and chaos as, indeed, happened in this case. There is no denying the 2017 coup removed one dictator only to replace him with another.
  1. In failing to implement any meaningful democratic reforms necessary for free, fair and credible July 2018 elections, blatantly rigging the said elections and then imposing himself as the legitimate president and government.

Mnangagwa can and, indeed, should be impeached but he will not be impeached because Zimbabwe is not a health and functioning democracy. The horse, the treasonous president, has already bolted.

“A president “might pervert his administration into a scheme of peculation or oppression,” James Madison (one of America’s founding fathers) said of the need for an impeachment clause (in USA constitution). “He might betray his trust to foreign powers.”

“Madison and his fellow framers understood that elections — which, under normal circumstances, are the essence of democratic self-government — could not serve their purpose if a president was determined to cheat to win,” explained New York Times, in its editorial.

“As the constitutional scholar Noah Feldman testified before the Judiciary Committee last week, “Without impeachment, the president would have been an elected monarch. With impeachment, the president was bound to the rule of law.”

By successful rigging elections for these last 39 years Zanu PF leaders have systematically eroded the democratic right of the people to a meaningful vote. Instead of the people holding those in power to democratic account it is the people who are now at the mercy of the ruling elite, especially the rural voters who have been reduced into medieval serfs beholden to the Zanu PF landlords!

Instead of the people electing the MPs and thus the people exercising power over the MPs; it is Mnangagwa and the select few manning the party’s vote rigging machinery who elect the MPs and thus control them. In Zimbabwe Mnangagwa enjoys absolute power he controls the electorate and the MPs.

In Zimbabwe it is the tail, the president, that wags the dog, the nation, parliament and all the state institutions.

The only way Mnangagwa can be impeach is at gun point – as happened to Mugabe.

The November 2017 coup removed one dictator but only to replace him with another dictator, this was not the political change the nation has been dying for – removing the dictatorship and replacing it with a democratic system of government.

We should focus all our time, energy and sweat on getting Mnangagwa and Zanu PF to step down on the grounds the party does not have the mandate to govern since last year’s elections were rigged. This will create the political space to appoint a body that can be entrusted the task of implement the democratic reforms necessary for free, fair and credible elections.

Once the democratic system in established, one only hopes that the people will be vigilant and alert and not lose it as easily as they did in 1980!

Those calling for Mnangagwa to be impeach, as long as the Zanu PF dictatorship remains strong, they are wasting their time.

“We Are Tired Of Mnangagwa’s Nonsense,” Kasukuwere Speaks At EFF Congress

Tyson says ‘fed up with ED nonsense’, vows to ‘take bull by its horns’
Kasukuwere and Mnangagwa

EXILED former cabinet minister and top Zanu PF official, Saviour Kasukuwere says he is tired of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s “nonsense”.

Addressing South African opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party leadership and supporters at their annual congress in Soweto Saturday, Kasukuwere said it was time to take the bull by its horns.

“Our struggle in Zimbabwe is just about to begin, we cannot any longer tolerate the nonsense that is happening,” Kasukuwere said amid applause from EFF supporters.

“The pain in our people is too much, queues day in and out, our people are running to South Africa, thousands of our people are here without papers; that’s the humiliation they are facing living in a country full of challenges.

“As Zimbabweans, we must take the bull by its horns. It is not about enmity; it is about correcting comrades that have gone wayward.

“They want more money, they want more riches, and they have lost the direction of the revolution.

“When they meet, hear their resolution, none of the resolutions make sense, there have no basis to move forward.”

The former Zanu PF national political commissar, who was kingpin of the G40 faction that was fiercely opposed to Mnangagwa taking over from then President Robert Mugabe, said one of the challenges that the ruling party was facing was that it did not want to move away from the liberation war mode.

“A hungry people cannot be governed and this is the challenge many liberation movements are facing in Africa,” he said.

“I can give you an example of my country Zimbabwe, the objective when they started the movements they formed, the military wing called Zanla and Zipra and those combatants have not put the guns down.

“They are still in that liberation period; they have not transformed to talk about economic empowerment.

“The gun has now become an instrument to suppress the majority of our people.

“We can’t focus on growing the cake, on growing our economy, get our people into mining, get our people into agriculture, and get our people to become masters of their own destiny.

“We have done enough politics, but for the necessity…must lead us into total control of economy.”

Kasukuwere had no kind words for Mnangagwa’s endless trips outside the country in a hired jet attending countless conferences, with no tangible results on the ground.

“Why do we attend investment conferences the world over, some comrades have to travel in hired planes, with plates full of mazondo chewing them as they travel and you ask them ‘what are you going to do there that you can’t do here’,” Kasukuwere said.

“Let’s bring our people together and that’s the first investment that we must find ourselves in.”

Kasukuwere followers recently launched #tysonwabantu which he said was not a political party but a movement by citizens of the country, some on the diaspora who feel that there is need to come together to persuade and move the country forward.

St Johns’ Chikwaka Students Drop Album

By A Correspondent- Students from St Johns’ Chikwaka have dropped an album titled extra blessings.

The students produced their album in line with the new curriculum and were assisted by Noel Murerwa.

Murerwa spoke to a local publication about the album and said:

This is the first album with the school in line with the new curriculum to help children develop life skills and encourage them to pursue other avenues of survival. It is also a move to identify and nurture talent in its raw form and develop them.

We give children the opportunity to professional platforms such as recording studios and perform live so that things such as stage fright will be dealt with at an early stage.

Chamisa’s Passionate Plea To General Chiwenga

The opposition MDC leader Nelson Chamisa had some words of advice to the vice President Retired General Constantino Chiwenga who recently returned home from China saying he should dump the habit of looking down upon people or judge based on statue.

Below are Chamisa’s words to Chiwenga;

“You may have joined mainstream politics as General Chiwenga and looking down upon me, having looked at my small statue, but what you need to know is God has purpose,”
“And God has given you a life to do good for the country and not to divide the people, not to destroy the souls of the people, not to issue reckless statements which undermine one another, we must all be united as a people.”

Chamisa Receives “Prophetic Vision” About Becoming Zimbabwe’ s President

Farai Dziva|The country’s main opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa says he has received a prophetic vision about leading Zimbabwe.

Chamisa said Jesus Christ appeared to him in a vision and assured him that he would soon be the President of Zimbabwe.

Chamisa made the remarks at the memorial service for Vimbai-Tsvangirai Java in Harare on Saturday.

He said” : It is only a matter of time before Jesus Christ completes his promise.”

“The Lord has spoken to me lately that one day I will lead this country. I do not know when or how this will happen but he has spoken to me over this issue,” said Chamisa who is himself a pastor,” he added.

The opposition leader said he was not as power hungry as his rival and President Emmerson Mnangagwa who he accused of depending on witch doctors to remain in power.

Chiwenga Was Healed To Dump His Old Deeds, Says Chamisa

MDC leader Nelson Chamisa has called Vice President to order, telling the country’s number two that God restored him to good health so he could dump his bad deeds for good ones.

Chamisa was speaking at a memorial ceremony held in honour of Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java, daughter to late MDC founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai at the latter’s Harare home.

VP Chiwenga spent four months fighting for his life in a Chinese hospital suffering what was he later revealed as oesophageal disease.

His miraculous recovery has surprised many locals who never gave him a chance to recover his good health, let alone return to his job and active politics.

Chamisa told the sabre-rattling former military boss God restored him to good life so he could do the right thing for his fellow countrymen.

“You may have joined mainstream politics as General Chiwenga and looking down upon me, having looked at my small statue, but what you need to know is God has purpose,” Chamisa said.

“And God has given you a life to do good for the country and not to divide the people, not to destroy the souls of the people, not to issue reckless statements which undermine one another, we must all be united as a people.”

Chamisa was apparently referring to statements uttered by Chiwenga during the just ended Zanu-PF annual national people’s conference in Goromonzi Friday.

Chiwenga had accused the opposition leader of harbouring a plot to topple the government through uprisings.

“There are some malcontents who think they can unseat a legally-elected government through protests and boycotts,’ Chiwenga had said.

“We want to warn them that their actions will not succeed.

“This is not Mongolia where you can challenge authority and cause violence as much as you want. That will not happen in Zimbabwe.”

Tsvangirai-Java’s, late Glen View South MP, passed on in June this year from injuries she suffered weeks before in a horrific car accident in Kwekwe on her way to Harare in the company of relatives and party colleagues.

Her memorial was attended by family, relatives, party supporters and members from her church.

Chiwenga Gets Marry Arrested And Unlawfully Gives Himself Custody Of His Children While Getting Rid Of Her Other Children.

Mrs Mary Chiwenga

Own Correspondent|Vice President Constantino Chiwenga over the weekend used his muscle to get his troubled wife Marry arrested on a host of charge that may eventually also hit back at him.

The Sixty three-year-old Chiwenga, who has been attempting to evict Marry from their Borrowdale home, immediately took custody of their three children aged eight, seven and five after she was arrested. Two other children from the 38-year-old former model’s past relationships were sent to her mother.

The retired army general is reported to have been battling to get Marry to leave the matrimonial residence in Borrowdale, and also not to take the children with her. Marry engaged lawyers to fight her eviction, which further infuriated Chiwenga.

The two were customarily married in 2011 after Chiwenga divorced his first wife, Jocelyn, and Marry left her footballer husband, Shingayi Kaondera.

“If Elections Fail Zanu PF Will Use Any Means” – Free Elections Is A Right, Not A Privilege

By Nomusa Garikai- Zimbabwe’s worsening economic meltdown has President Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF colleagues really worried. They know the economic situation is unsustainable and power is slipping out of their hands. They response is to step up the tyrannical repression.

“This is a revolutionary party, that liberated this country, and the only one that can defend the revolution, therefore, we will fight to defend that course by any means necessary,” said Victor Matemadanda, Zanu PF political commissar.

“Every election is a process to defend the revolution against Western imperial powers working in cahoots with local puppets. We will use any means necessary to defend the revolution.

“If elections fail we will use any other means necessary!” he concluded ominously.

If anyone thought Matemadanda was just a loose cannon, Mnangagwa no less stood up reinforced Matemadanda’s word.

“Whilst we were at war, we would ask who is the chief of this area, and they would tell us that it is Chief Chikwaka,” he said.

“We would not ask who was contesting Chief Chikwaka (Goromonzi traditional leader). If someone comes into this country and they ask who rules over Zimbabwe, its Zanu PF.”

“You (Zanu PF members) are the voice of this country, you are the way of this country, you are the future of this country.”

Every time Zanu PF sensed that its strangle hold on power was being threaten, the party has turned up the political rhetoric and followed this with wanton violence to drive the message home.

Zanu PF does never subscribed to the notion that ordinary Zimbabweans have the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. The party blatantly rigged last year’s elections. The election went ahead without something as basic as verified voters’ roll. This was a deliberate and calculated move, a verified voters’ roll would have make the vote rigging that much difficult, of course.

What is frustrating here is not just that Zanu PF has blatantly rigged elections repeatedly but that the regime has partners. The opposition led by the MDC have participating in these flawed and illegal elections knowing Zanu PF will rig the elections. Worse still, they have also known that by participating they were giving the process ‘credibility’ as David Coltart readily admitted.

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the elections,” admitted Coltart in his book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of tyranny in Zimbabwe.

So many golden opportunities to implement the reforms and end the Zanu PF dictatorship have been wasted on the opposition alter of greed.

Then there are others like Professor Mthuli Ncube, Minister Kirsty Coventry and many others who are working for this Zanu PF regime knowing it rigged the elections and is per se illegitimate. They paid and paid well for propping up the dictatorship. The two attended the just ended Zanu PF conference and they joined the rest of the party faithful in cheering Mnangagwa and Matemadanda’s speeches.

We can agree to differ on many things but surely we should not differ on what constitute free, fair and credible elections and that this is a right and not a privilege. It is therefore infuriating that some people pretend, for selfish reasons, that Zanu PF did not rig last year’s elections and thus undermining the work of those calling for democratic change.

Zanu PF will never implement any meaningful democratic reforms and restore the people’s right to a meaningful vote. All political and economic pressure must now be brought to bear on Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies to steps down! The lifted sanctions must be brought back.

All economic and political pressure must also be brought to bear on MDC leaders Zanu PF apologists who are propping up this Zanu PF dictatorship. These individuals must now be added to the sanctions list!

Yes, Zanu PF’s stern warnings that the party will use wanton violence to retain power must be taken seriously. Still the human tragedy brought on by 39 years of Zanu PF misrule is real too and cannot be ignore. The consequences of just another year of this; millions living in abject poverty with no health care, no education, etc. is unthinkable. Abandoning these poor souls to mercy of the Zanu PF tyrants is not an option.

Mnangagwa and his thugs must be told in no uncertain terms that he must restore the freedoms and rights of every Zimbabwean including the right to a meaningful vote and the right to life. These are rights and not privileges he can give to some and deny to others as he sees fit.

Since Zanu PF has failed, especially during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, to implement even one reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections; the party must now step down. This is not negotiable!

Reprieve As Deputy Head Is Cleared Of Violating Student’s Dignity

By A Correspondent- A Secondary school deputy headmistress who allegedly forced a Form One girl to undress in the presence of other teachers in Hwange was all smiles on Friday after a magistrate cleared her of any wrongdoing.

Possenta Kwidini, aged 50, was facing a charge of seriously impairing the dignity of another person after she allegedly forced the schoolgirl to undress as punishment for walking around with her skirt unzipped.

The 15-year-old girl who cannot be named for ethical reasons, had reported the matter to her uncle who is also a teacher at the same school before the matter was reported to the police.

Kwidini, who was being represented by Elvis Mashindi of Mashindi and Partners, pleaded not guilty saying she acted as a parent to rebuke the pupil from walking around nak_ed.

On Friday, Hwange magistrate Gift Dube said the State, led by Trymore Chitumbu had failed to establish a prima facie case against Kwidini before he found her not guilty and acquitted her.

The magistrate said there were inconsistencies in the evidence given by the complainant, who had one lady teacher testifying on her behalf against the deputy headmistress.

“There were inconsistencies in the complainant’s testimony while it is also not clear whether she was threatened to unzip her skirt or not.

“There was no evidence from the State to show that the girl was threatened.

“Her dignity was almost compromised as she was walking with her zip open and she was called into the room where there was privacy as the teacher wanted to reprimand her,” said the magistrate.

The magistrate said from evidence brought before his court, he found that the girl’s skirt fell in the process of the rebuke and it was not the intention of Kwidini to make it fall.

He said the complainant was wrong to walk naked.

“The child was wrong. No one will allow her kid or anyone to walk publicly with the zip open. Teachers are parents at school, hence the court finds that the teacher’s intention was correct as she had no intention to strip her naked. The State dismally failed to bring evidence,” said the magistrate.

Earlier before start of trial, Kwidini had applied for exception of the case but the application was dismissed by the same magistrate.

Prosecutors had alleged that Kwidini, who is a “feared” local businesswoman as the community alleges she and her family use their wealth to abuse members of the community, forced the girl to undress in the presence of two other female teachers Chipo Mahlangu and Mazvita Muteme in September this year.

Mahlangu testified in favour of the girl while Muteme supported Kwidini.

Allegations were that Kwidini was sitting in the Textiles Technology and Design room in the company of the two female teachers when she saw the girl tucking her school uniform shirt behind the classroom and called her.

Kwidini told the girl that it was improper for a girl to dress in public and allegedly ordered her girl to unzip her skirt.

The girl complied and Kwidini allegedly ordered her to let the skirt drop down while threatening to assault her.

Out of fear, the girl complied and she was left wearing her shirt and pant only.

Kwidini allegedly later ordered her to dress up and go to her classroom where she was consoled by her classmates who had witnessed the incident from their class.

Masiyiwa Ups Doctors’ Allowances

By A Correspondent- The Strive Masiyiwa’s Higher Life Foundation (HLF) has increased allowances for doctors who applied under the $100 million training fellowship.

In a statement, HLF chief executive Mr Kennedy Mubaiwa said HLF was increasing the monthly allowances with immediate effect.

“Following a positive response to the ZWL$100 million training fellowship for junior and senior resident medical officers, registers and consultants employed at public healthcare institutions in Zimbabwe announced by HLF on 27 November, 2019, HLF is pleased to announce an upgrade,” said Mr Mubaiwa.

“Consultants who were awarded the fellowship for the six-month duration will get an increase of their non-negotiable monthly subsistence allowance from the original offer of $5 000 to ZWL$10 000 for the duration of the fellowship.”

Mr Mubaiwa said registrars and Government medical officers who were awarded 12 months fellowship will receive $7 500 up from $5 000.

HLF last month launched a $100 million training fellowship for doctors at Government hospitals to benefit 2 000 junior and senior medical officers.

The scholarship will last for six and 12 months, with funding contingent upon fellows remaining enrolled in their programmes for that period and satisfying all requirements.

The fellowship, a first in the country, included a non-negotiable allowance of $5 000 per doctor per month for a maximum of 2 000 doctors which has since been increased to $7 500.

It would, among other things, assist doctors in completing rotations within public health institutions while providing the much-needed health services to the citizens of Zimbabwe.

Chamisa Says Jesus Christ Appeared To Him And Assured Him That He Will One Day Be President Of Zimbabwe

Lord says I shall one day rule Zimbabwe – Chamisa
MDC leader Nelson Chamisa

Own Correspondent|Opposition MDC leader Nelson Chamisa has sensationally claimed that Jesus Christ appeared to him and assured him that he will soon be the President of Zimbabwe.

Addressing a gathering at the memorial ceremony of Vimbai-Tsvangirai Java in Harare on Saturday, Chamisa said that it is only a matter of time before Jesus Christ completes his promise.

“The Lord has spoken to me lately that one day I will lead this country. I do not know when or how this will happen but he has spoken to me over this issue,” said Chamisa who is himself a pastor.

The opposition leader said he was not as power hungry as his rival and President Emmerson Mnangagwa who he accused of depending on witch doctors to remain in power.

Tsvangirai-Java died in June this year in a horrific Kwekwe car crash that also claimed the lives of two other MDC members on their way from a caucus meeting in Bulawayo.

High Clamping And Towing Fees Trigger Corruption On City Parking Marshals

This aerial photograph shows vehicles that were double-parked outside parking bays along George Silundika Avenue in Harare last Friday. – Picture: Edward Zvemisha

Harare motorists continued with double parking and illegal parking despite new clamping and towing charges of between $500 and $900 taking effect last Friday.

City Parking marshals were not taking action on errant drivers, amid fears they could be taking pay-offs.

When The Herald did rounds in the city to check on the effect of the new fines, several vehicles were still double parked at various places.

Motorists interviewed said a lot more needed to be done to bring order to the city centre.

Tinashe Kambonde said: “I thought that the high fines would whip some people into line, but they did not or maybe we are being too expectant and there might be need to wait a few days for results.

“If the results do not come, there might be need for a holistic approach to address the issue. Fines might not do the trick.”

Another motorist, Mrs Evelyn Magaso, blamed the lukewarm response to the fines by defaulting drivers to the reluctance of council officials to enforce them.

“I expected to see a lot of vehicles being clamped today, so that errant drivers get the message that council means business, but as you can see some cars have been double parked for hours now and no-one is taking action,” she said.

“I suspect that parking marshals are now cashing in on the new fees, otherwise why are they not taking action when they are empowered to do so.”

There has been numerous allegations of corruption involving officials in the City’s Parking division.

A report with this publication recently alleged a motorist made an EcoCash payment of $10 to a parking attendant under reference number 207581, Txn ID MP190828.1404.D43291, but the marshal issued a $5 receipt.

When the reporter contacted City Parking public relations manager Mr Francis Mandaza, he said the issue should be raised with the customer services department for investigations.

When contacted later on the outcome of the investigations, Mr Mandaza was reluctant to shed light over the matter.

According to the new charges, clamping of light motor vehicles will now cost $500 up from $57, a 15-seater commuter omnibus will be charged $600, while the owner of an 18-seater bus will pay $700.

Conventional buses and lorries will now be penalised $800 and articulated heavy lorries $900.

Owners or drivers of towed vehicles, charges will now pay $500 to $800, depending on the type of vehicle.

Light motor vehicles will now be charged $500, while tow away fines for a 15-seater commuter omnibus and that of an 18-seater are now pegged at $700 and $800, respectively.

Fuel Shortages At Critical Level Ahead Of Christmas Holidays

Zimbabwe’s fuel shortages have reached critical levels just less than two weeks before the Christmas holiday.

Long winding queues are visible at most fuel stations while most are completely empty.

Frustrated and desperate motorists are spending long hours parked at fuel stations.

The southern African country is battling its worst economic crisis in a decade, due to a severe shortage of foreign currency to import most basic commodities like fuel.

In January this year, Zimbabwe was hit by public protests after President Emerson Mnangagwa announced fuel price increases.

Motorists have reported waiting for petrol for almost three hours at a time.

Some motorists said they foresee a worsening situation as Christmas day approaches.

The economic decline under President Mnangagwa has frustrated many.

Mnangagwa briefly inspired hope after taking over from longtime ruler Robert Mugabe with the help of the military in November 2017.

Zanu PF Wins Shurugwi By-election

THE ruling party Zanu-PF has won the Shurugwi South Ward Six by-election held over the weekend.

The council seat was left vacant following the death of councillor Edmond Chitera of Zanu- PF early this year.

The by-election is the first to be held in the Midlands province after the 2018 harmonised elections.

Edward Chitera Junior, the son of the deceased councillor was duly elected after he got 396 votes against Mary Choga (MDC Alliance) who got 16.

There were two spoiled votes.
Fringe political parties stayed away from the race.
Cde Chitera dedicated his win to his late father.

The MP for Shurugwi South Edmund Mukaratigwa said the win was an endorsement of the party by its supporters in Shurugwi ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections.

“While this is indeed an endorsement for the party by the masses, it also serves as a reminder that loyalty deserves recognition while unity and hard work guarantee victory. It’s now mandatory to accelerate socio economic revival as we work on delivering on our promises,” he said.

Zanu PF Midlands provincial chairman Engineer Daniel MacKenzie Ncube welcomed the result saying more effort is needed in attracting people to the party.

“We are coming from a very successful 18th National People’s Conference where President Mnangagwa said the party is poised to garner five million votes in the 2023 elections if party structures work together.

We are therefore going out in full force in the Midlands banking on such important wins to get more people to join and vote for the party. We are happy we did well and we will continue doing well,” he said.State media

US President Donald Trump and Cameroonian President Paul Biya

As the crisis in Anglophone Cameroon persists, the United States (US), has asked President Paul Biya of Cameroon to “immediately and unconditionally” pull out the military from Southern Cameroon territory.

The 72-hour ultimatum followed US Congress approval in a resolution of an Act, authorising President Donald Trump and US Department of Defence to force Biya to comply.

The announcement was made yesterday in a YouTube video, monitored in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

According to the video, the US Congress Act, said, “President Paul Biya has 72 hours to pull the military from the Union Treaty Territory of Cameroon.”

Zambian President Tells Trump To Remove Ambassador Who Supports Gays And Lesbians

Edgar Lingu, Zambian

Bloomberg — Zambia’s President Edgar Lungu said he wanted the U.S. Ambassador to leave the country after the diplomat criticized the African nation for sentencing a gay couple to 15 years of imprisonment for having a consensual relationship.

“We have complained officially to the American government, and we are waiting for their response because we don’t want such people in our midst,” Lungu said Sunday in comments broadcast on state-owned ZNBC TV. “We want him gone.”

U.S. Ambassador Daniel Foote said last month that he was “personally horrified” after the high court sentenced the two men and called on the government to reconsider laws that punish minority groups.

Mthwakazi Blasts George Charamba Over Mnangagwa Lies

King Lobengula

Media Statement|The blatant lie by President Mnangagwa’s mouth piece, George Charamba that Mnangagwa’s grandfather was recruited into King Lobengula’s army must not be allowed to see light of day.

There is no record of any Matabele King recruiting foreign nationals, let alone cowardly Shonas, into his army. Furthermore, there were enough able bodied and brave young Matabeles who were always ready to serve in the Matabeleland Kingdom army with pride.

What is known throughout Matabeleland is that Shona Chiefs from Masvingo sold out Matabeles in the Anglo- Matabele war of 1893 that resulted in the fall of Matabeleland Kingdom.

Traitorous chiefs from Masvingo including Chiefs Bere, Zimuto and Gutu unashamedly attended a whiteman’s meeting that plotted to destroy the Kingdom of Matabeleland. The meeting was held in Fort Victoria now known as Masvingo in 1890. The three chiefs leaked Matabeleland military info to the white colonisers and provided Shona military batmen to assist the whites in fighting Matabeles.

On the battle ground in Gadade on 3 November 1893 the cowardly and treacherous trio where hiding in the laggaars under the protection of the whiteman’s gun releasing more military info to colonisers and identifying all Matabele regiments and selling them out to white soldiers for them to be shot. For this they were rewarded with cattle that were looted from Matabeleland.

The Anglo- Matabele war was sparked by one Chief Bere who had a DNA of theft and corruption. He stole telegraph cables from the colonial government. When he was found guilty,he stole King Lobengula’s cattle given to him under the Matabele tradition of (amasiso) and used them to pay the colonisers as a fine. King Lobengula sent his impis to collect his cattle, but the move was mistaken for a raid by the white people who used it as a pretext to start a war.

We have said it before that three characteristics of Shona people are: DNA of corruption and theft, witch -craft and insatiable appetite for opulent life style. Today we reveal the 4th one, that of them being pathological liars. Shonas are the kind of people who can lie convincingly. One needs to be extra alert when dealing with them. When they tell you that it is morning you should go outside and check to be on the safe side.

This is a desperate big lie and ploy by the panicking Shona supremacist Zimbabwe government media machine to try and sway people of Matabeleland from advancing Matabeleland statehood restoration cause. George Charamba and his handlers
must be warned that the people of Matabeleland are not that gullible nor stupid to fall for such cheap lies.

We do not know of any “IHlupeko” in Matabeleland but heartless Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, a pure Shona supremacist and exremist who murdered more that 40 000 Matabele civilians in cold blood in a Matabeleland genocide between 1980 and 1987.

Zimbabwe will split into two and the Republic of Matabeleland will be berthed with him Emmerson “lHlupeko” Dambudzo Mnangagwa playing midwifery.

Even this big lie by  chameleon like George Charamba who is so fond of changing colours and names will not stop Matabeleland revolution. Today he is George Charamba, tomorrow he is Nathaniel Manheru, and day after tomorrow he is Jamwanda. He is the creator of “IHlupeko”. Pathological liar!

ZANU PF Conference Completely Ignored And Discouraged Use Of IsiNdebele And Other Matabeleland Languages, But Why?

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga at the conference

Own Correspondent|The ruling ZANU PF party exposed its hard-core tribalism at its just ended national conference by completely ignoring and discouraging use of IsiNdebele and other official languages during proceedings.

The party failed to have a Ndebele interpreter with delegates making noise when one tried to speak in Ndebele forcing proceedings to go on in predominately Shona and a little bit of English.

During the Conference Fortune Chasi the Minister of Energy tried to give part of his report in Ndebele and was heckled by the crowd while other politburo members stopped him from using Ndebele.

Political analyst kelvin Mazhandu said, “During the Robert  Mugabe era The norm has been that  Absolom Sikhosana interprets speeches from Shona to Ndebele for the benefit of the 3 Matebeleland provinces that are predominantly Ndebele speaking. This time conference ignored the linguistic needs of Bulawayo, Mat North and Mat South.”

Mazhandu added  that, “It was also shocking that most politburo members including the National Chairperson Oppah Muchinguri did not recognise the National Secretary for Administration Dr Obert Mpofu who is the second most senior high ranking ZANU PF official from Matebeleland.”

Some Conference participants from Matebeleland, Midlands and Bulawayo who spoke expressed concern over the blatant disregard for the Ndebele community, who were reduced to by standers at the National Conference.

Bruce Grobbelaar Says He Has Broken Liverpool’s Title Curse By Peeing At The Goalposts At Anfield

Bruce Grobbelaar

It might actually be Liverpool’s year for once as they stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League table to ten points on Saturday.

Two goals from Mohamed Salah and another clean-sheet were enough to beat bottom-side Watford at Anfield.

Then Leicester City, their closest rivals right now, finally slipped up as they drew 1-1 at home to second-bottom-side Norwich City.

Most would argue that the now 17-point lead over Manchester City, who play Arsenal on Sunday, is the important one, however.

Things between the two were neck-and-neck last season, with Pep Guardiola’s side winning the title by a single point.

But Liverpool seem unstoppable right now and are on course to be champions of England for the first time in 30 years.

So who have the Reds got to thank for finally overcoming their title drought?

Well, there’s an obvious three: Jurgen Klopp, for his impeccable coaching, Michael Edwards, for consistently fantastic transfer business, and Bruce Grobbelaar, for peeing on the Anfield goalposts to break a curse.

Does that third one need some explanation? Don’t worry – Grobbelaar’s got you sorted.

Bruce Grobbelaar took advantage of a legends game to break the curse.

“I had a testimonial in 1992 and I was sponsored by Zambezi lager and they sent a witchdoctor with the lager,” he told BT Sport.

“He went around on the posts and put his goat’s tail, put his water on the posts of both sides, got the microphone and said, ‘If you don’t have the jungle man Bruce Grobbelaar here, you won’t win the title’.”

That’s the curse part explained and how do you break a curse? You pee on the goalposts.

“Of course, I went back to South Africa, went to Canada, came back. Remember when Stevie G, he slipped? One night game I went down to the Kop end, I peed on the posts. That breaks the spell.

“I got thrown out. I didn’t do the Anfield Road and we finished second.”

Gerrard's infamous slip happened because Grobbelaar only peed on one set of posts.

Fortunately, the Liverpool legend was able to fix his mistake.

“Last season I played in a corporate game here, we were in the dressing room and the guy said ‘you have to do the business today’,” he said.

“I said, ‘okay’. I took a water bottle, poured the water out, peed in the bottle, came back.

“First-half at the Kop end, I splashed it all over the posts. Second-half, I came down to the Anfield Road end and splashed it all over the posts. End of last season.”

And that is the story of how Liverpool became champions of England in 2020.

ZACC Spokesperson Does Not Know Why Marry Chiwenga Was Arrested

John Makamure

Own Correspondent|The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) spokesperson Mr John Makamure on Sunday told state media that he was not aware why Marry Chiwenga, wife to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga was arrested.

“I am not yet privy to the circumstances but I can tell you she was arrested on Saturday for allegedly externalising currency and money laundering. I have not heard about the fraud case. I will have more details when I get to the office tomorrow,” said Mr Makamure.

Since his appointment into ZACC as spokesperson, Makamure has been top notch in giving updates on cases being handled by ZACC especially the high profile cases only to appear to be in the dark on probably the highest profile case in the hands of the commission at the moment.

Makamure’s confession of ignorance on the case is a confirmation of widespread speculation that ZACC is being used by Vice President Chiwenga to fight his domestic wars against his wife.

ZACC arrested Marry, on Saturday – a day after a stormy family meeting.

According to weekend media reports, a furious Chiwenga allegedly ordered his wife’s arrest on money laundering and fraud charges following a testy meeting on Friday which was called to discuss the collapse of their customary marriage.

Marry, according to sources, was in combative mood in the meeting, repelling accusations of infidelity and telling elders from both their families that their sex life was dead.

“She was very hostile, she even described Chiwenga’s inadequacies in bed in shocking detail. It was the stuff no man wants to hear. She drove Chiwenga up the wall,” a source briefed on the meeting said.

Sixty-three-year-old Chiwenga, who has been attempting to evict Marry from their Borrowdale home, immediately took custody of their three children aged eight, seven and five after she was arrested. Two other children from the 38-year-old former model’s past relationships were sent to her mother.

During the meeting on Friday, Chiwenga also accused Marry of trying to force him to marry her from his South African hospital bed while he was battling for life from suspected poisoning in July.

Chiwenga suggested that Marry thought he was dying – and was more interested in securing her stake in his estate.

At around the same time, Marry allegedly bought a house in Pretoria and two Range Rover SUVs for millions of rand.

However, a source within Zacc said that Ms Mubaiwa is facing six counts of exporting currency and money laundering involving more than US$1million that occurred between October last year and March this year.

The source said Ms Mubaiwa also allegedly tried to fraudulently obtain a marriage with VP Chiwenga. The two were customarily married and Ms Mubaiwa was allegedly seeking a Chapter 5: 11 marriage which is in community of property.

She allegedly externalised the forex through smuggling it out of the country or raising fake proforma invoices for the purchases of either event tents and chairs or prepaid household electrical meters.

“She would get forex from CBZ Bank and divert it to her personal use,” said the source.

Ms Mubaiwa allegedly bought and furnished a property in the uptown Heath Close, Waterkloof Golf Estate, Pretoria in South Africa.

She also allegedly bought two luxury Range Rover vehicles from the proceeds.

Zacc has reportedly instituted proceedings to recover the property that was bought with the externalised funds.

“On October 2018, Mubaiwa sent her driver Carrington Kazingizi and a Terrence Mutandwa to China with US$114 000 through Robert Mugabe International Airport without any declaration being made to the authorities which is in contravention of the Exchange Control Act, Chapter 22:05,” said the source.

“Sometime in November 2018, she instructed Ms Memory Chakuinga- who is the Managing Director of two South African based companies namely Falcon Projects Pvt Ltd and Bonnette Electrical Pvt Ltd which are based in Pretoria- to come up with a proforma invoice for the supply of event tents and chairs which were then sent to CBZ Bank and also to the accused. On 17 December 2018, the accused on the strength of the proforma invoice, caused CBZ Bank to transfer US$201 846-81 through Outgoing Telegraphic Transfer into Falcon Projects Suppliers Private Limited South African FNB Bank account number 62576755105.”

Instead of buying the tents, the source said, Ms Mubaiwa allegedly used the money to buy a Range Rover Autobiography registration number HW40JNGP, which she allegedly registered under her name.

The source said sometime in February 2019, she instructed Ms Chakuinga to raise another proforma invoice for the supply of prepaid household electric meters.

“On 4 February 2019, the invoice was sent to CBZ Bank and to the accused. On 13 February 2019 the accused caused CBZ Bank to transfer US$307 545 through Outgoing Telegraphic Transfer into Falcon Projects Suppliers Private Limited South African FNB Bank account number 62576755105,” said the source.

Ms Mubaiwa allegedly diverted the funds to buy a house, Number 1309 Kingstone Heath Close, Waterkloof Golf Estate, Pretoria, South Africa.

The source alleged Ms Mubaiwa registered the house under LaChelle Travel and Tours Pvt Ltd South Africa where she is the only Shareholder.

“Sometime between February and March 2019, Ms Mubaiwa gave a Ms Judith Gamuchirai Goredema US$230 769,23 for the purchase of a second Range Rover registration number HX61PSGP that she registered in South Africa under her name,” said the source.

The source said sometime in February and March this year, Ms Mubaiwa allegedly externalised US$36 923,08 which she used to buy furniture for the Pretoria home.

In May 2019, she allegedly instructed Ms Chakuinga to raise another proforma invoice for the supply of prepaid meters and got US$142 858,93 from CBZ Bank which she allegedly diverted into Martin Portgietter Attorney Trust Account number 081327021 domiciled at Standard Bank South Africa towards payment for the house in Pretoria.

In the fraud case, Ms Mubaiwa allegedly misrepresented to Judge President George Mutandwa Chiweshe that VP Chiwenga had consented to a marriage under the Marriage Act, Chapter 5:11.

She allegedly submitted copies of national identity documents of both parties to the Judge President Chiweshe without the knowledge and consent of the VP.

The Judge President contacted the Acting Chief Magistrate Munamato Mutevedzi who decided to preside over the wedding ceremony.

“The Acting Chief Magistrate however noticed that the passport size photos and address of the parties were not included. The items were later forwarded to him and acting on the misrepresentation, the marriage officer caused the completion of registration forms and the marriage certificates in preparation for the ceremony. When the accused was doing all this, complainant was bed ridden and not in a condition to consent to the marriage,” said the source.

“After the applications for special marriage licences were made, a duplicate original register MR No: 0222402 was prepared. On the Duplicate Original Register copy the marriage was between Constantino G.D.N. Chiwenga and Marry Mubaiwa. On the Register it was endorsed or indicated that the marriage was by own consent through the misrepresentation by the accused while VP Chiwenga, who is the complainant, had not consented. Investigations allegedly revealed Mubaiwa had already made an order for the manufacture of two diamond rings at a Jewellery Shop at Newlands Shopping Centre in Harare, which were delivered to her.

The VP is arguing that by such misrepresentation, Ms Mubaiwa caused prejudice to his good administration and reputation.

21 Year Old Gold Panner Kills Own Father And Brother Over A Week Ago But Police Spokesperson Not Aware Of The Incident.

State Media|A 21- YEAR- OLD gold panner allegedly fatally axed his father and brother in cold blood after accusing the elderly man of bewitching him.

Alster Chikafa, in a rampage that lasted about two hours, allegedly axed two oxen belonging to his father Mr Mathias Chikafa (62) and burnt a neighbour’s hut before committing the blood-curdling murders.

A family source from Mabharani village, Gokwe South where the incident occurred on Monday last week, said villagers teamed up and tied up Alster who appeared possessed.

“Alster was shouting that he wanted to kill more people. Many villagers were involved in the scuffle to subdue him before handing him over to the police.

“He had recently returned from his gold panning in Mazowe. He accused his father of bewitching him causing him to lead a life of poverty despite making a lot of money from gold panning,” said the source, who asked not to be named.

According to a neighbour, Mr Tymon Moyo, Alster began his death threats at around 10am.

“He was saying ‘I feel like killing someone today’ as he was brandishing an axe in a scary manner. He turned on two oxen and axed them to death,” said Mr Moyo.

“He dashed to his neighbour, Nyaradzai Nduna’s homestead and set fire to his bedroom hut. He was shouting that Nduna would die because he owes him a lot of money and had cheated him as they shared proceeds from their gold panning.”

Seeing the rising smoke at Mr Nduna’s homestead, Mr Moyo said, the elderly Chikafa rushed to the scene and Alster struck him three times on the head.

“He said he wanted to finish him off and called him the devil’s agent,” said another neighbour Mr Tabeth Musarara.

“After the attack, Mr Chikafa who was bleeding profusely, staggered to a neighbour’s homestead where he sought help.”

Villagers said Mr Chikafa’s other son Alfred (26) rushed to the scene.

“Alfred tried to calm down his brother but Alster struck him five times on the head and he died on the spot,” said Mr Moyo.

A neighbour rushed Mr Chikafa to Gokwe District Hospital where he spent two days before being transferred to Gweru General Hospital where he died on Wednesday.

Mr Chifaka is survived by wife and nine children. Alfred is survived by two children. The pair were buried on Saturday at Mabharani village.

Chief Chisina, under whose jurisdiction the area falls, yesterday confirmed the incident.

“It’s a shocking incident that has never happened in this area. Everyone is shocked following this tragedy.

“I have engaged village head (Mabharani) of the area so that we sit down with the family and local leadership to plan how the homestead can be cleansed. I would like to advise community members not to take the law into their hands. They should engage village heads or chiefs when a misunderstanding arises,” said the chief.

Ward 25 councillor, Chisina 3, Shungu Maruza, said: “I heard Alster was accusing his father of bewitching him. They were buried on Saturday but I did not attend the funeral because I was at the Zanu PF conference In Goromonzi.”

Midlands acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende said she was yet to receive the report on the murders.

Marry Chiwenga Case- Fraud Or Political Persecution?

Marry Mubaiwa — the estranged wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga — is expected to appear in court today on allegations of externalising US$1 million and fraudulently seeking to solemnise her marriage with neither the husband’s knowledge nor consent.

The two were customarily married, but Mubaiwa allegedly sought to upgrade the union to a civil marriage under the Marriages Act, without the consent of her husband.

The Marriages Act demands the consent of both parties in the presence of a marriage officer.

Mubaiwa was on Saturday evening arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) for externalising foreign currency, money laundering and the fraud case regarding the marriage.

She was locked up at Rhodesville Police Station pending her court appearance.

ZACC spokesman Commissioner John Makamure said Mubaiwa will appear in court today.

“Yes, I can confirm the arrest of Marry Mubaiwa for fraud and externalisation of foreign currency,” he said.

“She is expected to appear in court tomorrow (Monday).”State media

179 Kids Intercepted At Beitbridge

Zimbabwean and South African immigration officials have intensified the fight against child smuggling along the border after eight people were arrested for trying to sneak 179 children into South Africa between December 1 and yesterday.

An additional 1 944 people were arrested for other issues mainly related to border jumping, failure to get passports stamped and using stolen documents.

Assistant Regional Immigration Officer in charge of Beitbridge, Mr Nqobile Ncube, said of the eight, Senzo Ncube (South African), Shepherd Moyo, Thandolwenkosi Mlilo, Shelton Moyo, Ndumiso Ncube and Mlungisi Tshuma were fined between $1 000 and $2 000, while Tichaenda Chinhema and James Mudingi’s cases were pending at the courts.

The Herald understands that most of the intercepted children were from Bulawayo, Harare and Chiredzi and their destination in South Africa was mainly Johannesburg and Cape Town.

“Our enforcement team at Beitbridge Border Post has helped clamp down on illicit movement of children resulting in the interception of 179 minors whom we have sent to the Department of Social Services after being detected either being smuggled out of the country, undocumented or in the company of unauthorised persons,” said Mr Ncube. – state media

SB Moyo Defies British Ambassador, Says Zim Going Ahead To Join Commonwealth

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Sibusiso Moyo has taken a direct swipe at the British ambassador who has said Zimbabwe has to amend itself on the rule of law and constitutional reforms.

Zimbabwe’s efforts to rejoin the Commonwealth are on course, despite negative perceptions created by detractors,

Responding in the Senate, Minister Moyo said Zimbabwe looked forward to the forthcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda next year.

“There are individual member States who express their reservations in terms of their perception of what is going on in this country and who may want to link up what is going on here with whether they would take a position to support us to rejoin the Commonwealth or not,” he said.

“Nevertheless, as far as the systemic process of rejoining the Commonwealth in terms of the secretariat is concerned, so far everything is on course.”

Minister Moyo was responding to a question from Manicaland Senator Douglas Mwonzora, who wanted to know progress on Zimbabwe’s readmission to the Commonwealth in the context of concerns by British Parliament on the human rights situation in the country.

“Some Member States or some British House of Commons Members think that there were serious breaches of human rights abuses, but that is their perception,” he said.

“Whether it is true or not, that is something which is different, but I think you are aware as an Honourable Member that some of the events that characterised those periods have been investigated, subject to a Commission of Enquiry and police investigations, as well as a matrix that is dealing with various activities.”

Minister Moyo said some of the organisations claimed that Zimbabwe banned demonstrations, which was not true.

“What they say is their perception in as far as human rights abuses are concerned,” he said.
“They believe that this Government has banned demonstrations for good or something like that.

“As far as I know, it is not the policy of this Government to ban peaceful marches and demonstrations — that is not the case.” – Herald: Additional reporting

FULL TEXT: State Media Celebrates That MDC MPs Have Called ED “State President” In Court Papers

MDC-Alliance legislators have acknowledged President Mnangagwa as the leader of the country in their application at the High Court challenging Parliament’s decision to dock their allowances.

Court papers filed by MDC-Alliance MPs led by their chief whip, Mr Prosper Mutseyami, repeatedly referred to the Head of State and Government as “President of the Republic of Zimbabwe”.

The same MPs have constantly walked out of the chamber, arguing that they do not recognise President Mnangagwa’s election victory in the 2018 harmonised elections.

The opposition legislators have cited Speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Jacob Mudenda and Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube as respondents in their suit challenging the decision to seize their sitting allowances for disrespecting the President.

An affidavit deposed by Mr Mutseyami in the High Court, clearly acknowledges President Mnangagwa as the Head of State and Government despite their much touted claim that he was not legitimately elected.

“On October 1, 2019, there was a joint sitting of the National Assembly and Senate, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe was scheduled to address the joint sitting of Parliament in terms of Section 140 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe,” said Mr Mutseyami in his founding affidavit.

“When the President of the Republic entered the Parliament chamber, some of the applicants remained seated. There is nothing in the Constitution of Zimbabwe or in the Standing Rules and Orders which require Members of Parliament to stand up when the President of Zimbabwe enters or leaves the Parliament Chamber.

“When the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe was about to give his speech, First Applicant’s members who are Members of Parliament and who comprise second to 111th applicants walked out of the Parliament chamber.”

Mr Mutseyami said they walked out of the chamber in protest of the failure by President Mnangagwa whom they again acknowledged as leader, to address economic challenges.

“Applicants were also demonstrating against the country’s economic meltdown which the President is not addressing,” said Mr Mutseyami.

The MDC-Alliance referred to President Mnangagwa as the leader in its main court application filed by the opposition’s lawyers, Mbizo, Muchadehama and Makoni legal practitioners.

“The first respondent (Adv Mudenda) who is the Speaker of the National Assembly was presiding over the proceedings of the joint sitting of Parliament,” they said.

“It appeared to first respondent that certain members of the first applicant (MDC-Alliance) and some of the respondents herein remained seated when the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe entered the Parliament Chamber.

“Further, that as the said President started to address Parliament certain members of the first applicant who are also respondents herein walked out of Parliament.”

The legislators have since the July 2018 general elections refused to recognise President Mnangagwa’s victory.

Parliament has since constituted a nine member Privileges Committee chaired by Mudzi South MP Cde Jonathan Samkange (Zanu-PF) to investigate the opposition legislators and recommend appropriate penalty. Herald

Chaos As Violence Erupts At Caps, Platinum Match

The title-deciding match between CAPS United and FC Platinum turned violent during the half-time with the presidents of both sides engaging in a verbal clash at the stands.

The incident happened after Nsiala Mawete Guyve got a red card for shoving a CAPS official just as the players were about to leave the pitch for the break.

The hosts’ players had converged at the centre for a pep talk after the half-time whistle, but Guyve went there to disturb. This ensured a clash with the forward receiving a red card while the Green Machine’s goalkeeper coach Witness Mukhuli also getting his marching orders.

The chaos didn’t end there as the FC Platinum chairman Evans Mthombeni and CAPS United president Farai Jere exchanged harsh words at the stands.

The reason for the clash was not clear but it’s likely because of some black magic issues.

The match ended 1-0 in favour of FC Platinum courtesy of Perfect Chikwende’s 60th minute effort.

The result gave the Platinum Boys their third successive league triumph.Soccer24

Government Should Not Play Direct Role In Appointment Of Chiefs

Zimbabwean Chiefs barred from politics

Farai Dziva|MDC leader Nelson Chamisa has said the removal of Chief Felix Ndiweni from his throne is totally unacceptable.

“The persecution of Chief Ndiweni is unacceptable.

An attack on a chief is an attack on a people, culture and heritage. The chieftainship is rooted in a people’s identity not vindictive partisan politics and undue interference. Smith tried it but Rhodesia ultimately failed and fell.

The institution of traditional leaders and its independence should be protected through the framework defined in the constitution.

Traditional leaders serve a vital purpose in preserving our cultural heritage, must not be used against the people they represent to silence genuine concerns.

The government should play no role in the appointment of traditional leaders, but such processes should be determined by the traditions of the local community,” argued Chamisa

“A rightful leader cannot be imposed on a people. Our call for genuine reforms driven by the people’s agenda must keep growing louder & force institutional change. It is not the role of government to impose itself on the people.”

Will Mnangagwa Government Stop Black Market Deals?

Farai Dziva| Emmerson Mnangagwa has vowed to deal with illegal foreign currency dealers.

Mnangagwa declared time was now up for the illegal foreign currency dealers.

He made the remarks while addressing delegates at the ZANU PF Annual People’s Conference at Goromonzi High School in Mashonaland East.

“Those who continue to deal in money markets, I say to you all, the long arm of the law will soon catch up with you,” said Mnangagwa.

Matemadanda Bares It All, Elections Wont Remove Zanu PF From Power

Zanu PF has declared that it will not be removed from power and will deploy any means necessary to close out other political parties.

The charge was led by the ruling party’s commissar Victor Matemadanda when he presented the state of the party subcommittee resolutions during the closing session of the 18th annual people conference that ended yesterday in Goromonzi.

Zanu PF commissar Victor Matemadanda

“This is a revolutionary party, that liberated this country, and the only that can defend the revolution, therefore, we will fight to defend that course by any means necessary,” he said.

“Every election is a process to defend the revolution against Western imperial powers working in cahoots with local puppets.

“We will use any means necessary to defend the revolution.”

Matemadanda, also the defence deputy minister, said elections will not remove Zanu PF from power.

“If elections fail we will use any other means necessary,” he added.
MDC has refused to recognise President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s July 2018 election win, arguing that the polls were rigged.

Mnangagwa had risen to power the previous year following a coup that toppled long time ruler Robert Mugabe. The military justified Mugabe’s ouster by saying Zanu PF was in danger of losing elections the following year.

Meanwhile, Mnangagwa reinforced Matemadanda’s position when he officially closed the conference and said Zanu PF will rule forever.

‘People don’t ask who contests Zanu PF. Know that you are rulers. Do not think of those who contest you. Visitors who come into this country come under the leadership of Zanu PF.

“No one who comes from Japan or Russia, or Lesotho asks who will contest us. You are the rulers, you are the power of this country. You are the government of this country.

“You are the voice of this country, you are the way of this country, you are the future of this country.”

Mnangagwa claimed only Zanu PF can defend Zimbabwe’s integrity and sovereignty.

“Our heroes’ heritage in all three Chimurenga battles can only be safeguarded by Zanu PF,” he said.

“Zanu PF is the governing party, you are the rulers of this country, you are the power, you are the future of this country,” he added.

After the coup, Mangagwa promised Zimbabwe a “new unfolding democracy” as he pledged to be different from Mugabe, who was regarded as a dictator.

However, Mnangagwa has been accused of closing the democratic space through repression, which some say is worse than in Mugabe’s era. He has made Zimbabweans more poorer than they were under Mugabe.

Former Councillor Bashed By Girlfriend

NATIONAL, BUSINESS, BREAKING

A former Harare City Councillor was recently humiliated in Kuwadzana by his supposed small house over money related issues.

The elderly man identified as Samuel Chinyowa was given a thorough hiding by the woman only identified as Mai Nyasha.

It is alleged that Mai Nyasha is employed by Harare City Council in the police department but attached at Kuwadzana Poly Clinic.

Chinyowa, who was a councillor for Kambuzuma in 2015, was thoroughly beaten by the woman who was using his belt as a sjambok.

The incident, which was caught on camera, attracted a lot of people who live close to the couple’s place of residence.

In the video the two were filmed wrestling each other for the belt with which the woman was using to assault Chinyowa.

A close neighbour who preferred anonymity said the whole mater started when the elder citizen refused to give the wife extra money to take one of the kids who had broken her hand to go to hospital.

“Mai Nyasha was given money to take one of the children who was injured to hospital. She was given US$100 but I think to her it was not enough.

“This did not go well with the husband who decided to leave but was manhandled by his wife leading to a fist fight,” she said.

She as added:
“I don’t know why it led to this because the two used to be an adorable couple. The husband used to come twice a day, everyday.
“Vaidana vanhu ivava”.

Another witness close to the two said it all started when Mai Nyasha discovered a text from another woman in Chinyowa’s phone.

Chinyowa was left in underpants when his pair of trousers were torn during the fight.

“We were so embarrassed to see murume mukuru akururwa hembe, trousers rakabvarurwa kusara munhu akapfeka boxer.

“People had to run around to give him something to wrap around,” another witness said.

People had to intervene to stop the two from fighting.
Mai Nyasha was contacted for comment but professed ignorance.

“I don’t know what you talking about; it’s not me,” she said before hanging up her phone.

Efforts to get a comment from Chinyowa were fruitless as his phone went unanswered.

Chief Ndiweni Sacking: Family Stands Firm

A TENSE atmosphere enveloped the Ndiweni homestead in Ntabazinduna where ousted Chief Nhlanhlamangwe Ndiweni lives with the gate locked and people inside refusing to entertain any visitors.

When Sunday News visited the Ndiweni homestead yesterday, a man who was manning the gate told the news crew that they did not want anyone in their homestead and the family was not interested in talking to any journalists.

He claimed Mr Ndiweni was not around and he was not aware where he was.

“Please go, just go, we don’t want you here, leave us, that is why we have locked the gate, so don’t trouble us,” said the man throwing his hands in the air in apparent detestation.

Questioned on whether as a family they were aware of the Government’s decision to strip Mr Ndiweni of his position, he claimed they did not recognise it and their chief remained Mr Ndiweni.

“We don’t want to know what the Government said, we don’t care, our chief remains Chief Ndiweni,” he said.

Sunday News also managed to talk to some villagers on the matter and there was a largely divided opinion with others backing the Government’s decision while others felt it had erred in its decision.

“I believe this was a right decision because in line with Nguni customs he does not qualify to be a chief. He is not the first nor last born in the family but a middle child. What we know is that if the first son is not made a chief the last born should then be made the heir. This did not happen with Ndiweni. Despite having knowledge to his background, we had accepted him as the chief but I think it’s fair that he has been removed as this will restore our cultural values,” said a villager who identified himself as Mr Masuku.

A Mr Sgidi felt Mr Ndiweni was indeed the rightful heir to the chieftainship revealing that the late Chief Khayisa had made it clear on who he wanted to succeed him.

“Chief Khayisa was clear on who the rightful heir was. He gave a number of instructions even regarding on who was to be part of his body viewing where he said only old people 80 years and above could be part of the process.

“With regards to the chieftainship he said while he was meant to give it to his last born son, Douglas that could not happen as Douglas was married to a coloured woman, Chief Khayisa also dismissed Joram because he had married a German and what made this even more decisive is that his father was killed by the Germans hence he had a long-standing grudge, he therefore directed the elders to give the chieftainship to Felix Nhlanhla,” said Mr Sgidi.

He said they would rather have a chief from outside rather than have either Joram or Douglas taking over the chieftainship.

Contacted for comment Mr Ndiweni professed ignorance on the Government’s decision revealing that no official communication was made to him. He said he stood guided by a family communique released last Friday, which had noted that the family continued to recognise him as the chief of the area.

“As was the earlier suspension I have not received any communication which already reflects clumsiness in the administration process, however, we have always submitted ourselves to the law and will continue to do so. We are, contrary to many reports, working very well with the Government,” said Mr Ndiweni.

Questioned on whether he would be surrendering the various benefits including the Government issued vehicle as directed Mr Ndiweni said the benefits were for the community hence the withdrawal of the benefits will be to the community, not himself.

He further revealed that he was also in communication with his siblings, Joram and Douglas but noted that the impasse went beyond them as a family.

“Yes, I am in contact with both Joram and Douglas, who is currently lodging at a family member’s residence right next to the chief’s homestead. Sadly, the matter is simply not up to us and due diligence was done by the relevant people as regards the chieftaincy a long time ago,” said Mr Ndiweni.

On whether the family would appoint an acting chief while the matter was being resolved, he said this was not to happen as the family had already decided that he was the rightful heir to the chieftainship.

Assuming Marry Stole The Millions, Why Is It That VP Chiwenga’s Nieces Are The Sole Beneficiaries, Are They Protected By The Military?

Watch the live video loading below….

OPINION: ZACC Is Just A Zanu PF Tool To Punish Foes

Jane Mlambo| When the new Zimbabwe Anti Corruption commission was appointed, it’s new chairperson Loice Matanda Moyo pitched herself as no nonsense person who had just assumed office to fight the corruption scourge and this is despite misgivings from various people who felt the board would not deliver on its mandate due to the political connectivity of corruption, the ruling party and state power.

With the arrest of the wife of vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Marry over charges of fraud, money laundering and misrepresentation, the interference of ZACC in what is clearly a domestic dispute in which the powerful couple has been fighting for some time has laid bare that the commission is captured and serving the interest of the powerful.

While ZACC had successfully shredded the relationship between Matanda Moyo and the military/executive, Marry’s case is a clear testimony that the commission chairmanship was well planned not to go far from the powerful so that they can call the shots and fix their adversaries as and when they wish.

The commission has lost moral ground to preach about its independence when it has proven beyond doubt that it can act even in clearly compromised situations like the Marry-Chiwenga marriage problems.

Despite arresting Marry for crimes she committed as early as 2018, there is no doubt that the husband could have been an accomplice as they were still in good books, getting along. So why Chiwenga is still free while his wife is being persecuted is all but proof that ZACC is ineffective and a captured institution.

Emmerson Mnangagwa at ZANU PF Conference

BUREAUCRATS causing unnecessary delays in implementing Government programmes should either reform or face the chop, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said.

Officially closing the 18th Zanu-PF National People’s Conference here yesterday, the President said there is no room for laziness in both the party and Government.

“All party members and the nation as a whole must shun retrogressive tendencies such as laziness, indiscipline, greed, corruption, selflessness and immorality, among other vices,” he said.

“I further challenge every public servant and party member to reform, reinvigorate and turn over a new leaf towards a result-oriented culture. Excuses for non-performance will no longer be tolerated.”

Persons charged with the responsibility of implementing Government programmes must deliver, he said. “Those who refuse to change and have been busy slowing down Government programmes will be changed.”

President Mnangagwa said the country’s success depended on proper organisation, including timely allocation and use of resources earmarked for projects.

“Let us shift the population towards a mindset of productivity; we will support projects across every sector of the economy.

“The land must be productive and there is no room for cellphone farmers. The rains are pounding, let us all go back and diligently work the fields.”

President Mnangagwa called for selflessness, transparency and accountability in both the party and Government. He exhorted officials do expeditiously implement developmental projects under devolution.

“All our citizens must benefit from the resource endowments of their respective communities.

“The people must know that the party and Government will continue to support the empowerment and employment of the youth, women, SMEs (small and medium enterprises), veterans of our liberation struggle and people with disabilities, among others,” he said.

President Mnangagwa reiterated calls for Zimbabweans to promote and defend the use of the local currency, and urged the business community to promote investments and exports.

He also challenged Zimbabweans in the diaspora to be good brand ambassadors of the country and take part in attracting investment towards the modernisation and industrialisation of the country.

“Electorate Demoralised”: Mliswa

By A Correspondent|Norton legislator (Independent) Temba Mliswa has observed that the electorate in Zimbabwe is slowly becoming demoralised and have less interest in politics.

He posted on Twitter and said:

Also becoming apparent is that people are losing interest in politics, especially party politics. They are fatigued with constant attrition.

The high voter turnout in the last election was mere excitement at the novelty of an election with new faces  @nelsonchamisa  & @edmnangagwa.

In a scenario of a tired electorate, they will be a low voter turnout& this will always favour the chances for the incumbent party. Going forward  @MDCAllianceZW  must focus on reforms, @ZECzim to ensuring the same mistakes are not repeated& we don’t get held back on the same issues.

Some members of the public have pointed out that the elections are never effective in Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa since they are “always manipulated”.

Meanwhile, the opposition MDC has vowed not to participate in the 2023 elections if the current leadership of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is still in office saying that they have failed to run a credible election.
