Gweru (lower) and other midlands areas have been hit by a horrific snow storm, villagers have complained.
At a time when jail-bird Wicknell Chivayo received a $4million backhand cash lump-sum from government for a dodgy electricity supply project that is totally dysfunctional, poor villagers are wallowing in poverty and under the weather in this first of firsts in Zimbabwe’s recorded history.

Were i live it snows too and it only settles if it after has snowed a while and its the right surface. Where there is salt it melts to water and when its corrugated it slides.

When snow i fresh it might be loose but when it settles its lumps so for u who know nothing about snow that what it looks like especially when is cold and solidifies. When is snowing it might come in different form. That lump is what happens when it has solidified on the ground. Most of u forget snow is just water. Sometimes it snows and if ots warm enough it starts flowing like water. Learn something new. Do you know why throwing a snow ball at someone is assault in the uk because it as hard as a rock. Snow turns into hard blocks at times.

Exactly true. The texture of the material in the pictures, especially 7 (or 8) of 15, clearly shows large pellets of ICE, not snow. It might be graupel but still even that’s highly unlikely due to its size. For this stuff to be snow and form that texture, it would need repeated thaw-melt-freeze cycles — an impossibility so close to the actual event. This is definitely hail.

Who told you its not snow? Snow falls in different size due to other forces. This exaxt concept happened in my town in the uk abot 3 weeks ago and it was classifies as snow. I t was a hail storm but on the ground it was classified as snow. The fact it was hailstorm does not make it any less snow. Google definition of snow and you will learn something new.

that was not snow for start,there was a hail storm the previous night,because its now winter and Gweru being one of the coldest places in Zimbabwe the stones don’t melt fast as they do in summer,and Zimeye verify facts before writing those people who took pics are a team of FHI360(NGO) doing data collection on health facilities not villagers
