Terrence Mawawa, Gweru| A lower Gweru man took advantage of his wife’s death to have sex with his 16-year-old daughter several times without her consent.
Forward Sibanda of Fini Village under Chief Sogwala raped his daugher on several occasions after his wife’s death. Sibanda took advantage of his wife’s death and had sex with his daughter  with a condom on. He appeared before Gweru Magistrate Florence Nago last week facing rape charges. On an unknown date in March 2016 Sibanda called his daughter into his bedroom where he raped her after placing a condom on his male organ. Sibanda then raped his daughter several times and threatened her not to disclose the matter. The girl who is in form two reported the case to the police after informing her mother’s relatives.
Sibanda was remanded in custody to August 28, 2016. A woman related to the girl’s mother told ZimEye.com Sibanda’s actions were callous. “We could not believe the fact that Sibanda slept with his own daughter after his wife’s death. When he took her from Gokwe after her mother’s death, we thought he wanted to look after the girl, yet he intended to abuse her. It is sad to note that Sibanda abused his daughter after his wife’s death. He is an insensitive person,” said the relative.
