Barely two weeks after it was set up, the highly celebrated People First UK Province has crumbled.
The party has dissipated into vapour after its leadership slid into accusations and counter-accusations of corruption and nepotism against one another.
The in-fighting has seen the organisation suffocating barely a month into its formation.
Chairman Josh Chigwangwa together with his committee have been dissolved following fiery allegations that one of his aides a few days ago began secretly communicating with the British Government’s Foreign Office Department.
A letter written to Joice Mujuru and Didymus Mutasa states in part:
“We respectfully request your cooperation in regards to certain changes that recently occurred in our UK province the changes that we as UK province have to adhere to for our party structures to start functioning effectively. There is a problem that is disproportionately impacting the way we operate as People First here in the United Kingdom. The list of points below illustrates the need for an overhaul of the UK executive.
(1) We have 2 groups working under People First here in the UK, one led by Cde Tichatonga and the other by Mr Josh Chigwangwa, this is causing a lot of confusion to our supporters, so we have found a perspective common ground to work together as it is crucial to our ability to better serve.
(2) We have discovered that the current chairman is sowing the seeds of division among other committee members by: disregarding and overriding positive contribution put across by other members. The UK executive’s crucial and powerful positions are comprised of mainly the Chairman’s relative and friends, recently he gave a directive to one of his top ally to request a meeting with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, without agreeing with the other committee members. As we are party of the management committee we are very much concerned about this development as we agreed that until the party is launched that is when we shall engage the international community. There is lack of transparency in UK province under Mr Chigwangwa, he is the one that have personal differences with Cde Tichatonga, Mr Maison Masiwa Table and other guys who were unconstitutionally sacked from our executive. As an executive we have decided to start restructuring of the executive for the benefit of the party not individuals we shall be working as one People First. Ever since we started operating no notes were taken down but we have a secretary, we have more members now who are patiently awaiting to start branches but the chair is not taking the issue seriously, The reason for them to rush to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office was to get access to the donor funds which they will not as long as we are there to defend the party from rogue members.
(3) Yesterday I Bernard Madzura wrote a statement on the management group demanding to know the whereabouts of the email from Commonwealth Office and to encourage all members to work as a team for the best interest of the party but I was surprised to hear the former chair Mr Josh Chigwangwa attacking me left and right, he told me to go back to MDC he told me the things I have never heard in my entire life. Few of the powerful positions that are occupied by his relatives and friends are as follows:
. Interim former Chairman Mr Josh Chigwangwa is related to the Treasure Ms Mary Marufu.
. Interim Secretary Mr Raymond Mukada related to Author Janjawa
. Interim Treasure and vice. Mary Marufu and her vice who are both related to Mr Josh Chigwangwa.
. Interim International relations: Washington Ali who was controversially appointed by Josh Chigwangwa and Raymond Mukada.
. Interim Fundraising Secretary: Mr Aurthur Janjawa
We have as a committee discovered that the above mentioned are not working in the interest of the party they are rather there for personal reasons in respect of this we as determined cadres of People First we have decided to suspend the chairman Mr Josh Chigwangwa for the above mentioned reasons, the vice chair Mr Phil Noble is now the interim chair until we have the next executive meeting. I was directed by the executive to inform you about this development.
People First is power, People First is the answer and People First is the government!!!

The very stupid one is the one like you who is trying to defend total madness of some crooks who are now putting the name of People First into disrepute due to some senseless bickering. If you are one of such people, to hell with you!! And to hell with your insignificant remittances or votes!! People First can still do very well without the diaspora mafia.
Launching a New Party is not easy.Thus why Joice Mujuru is taking her time to get structures right and sort out problems like ones in this article,then Set Sail once the Coast is clear.After all Democracy is always work in progress.
I see why Joice Mujuru is taking her time to launch this Party.She wants to get structures right and set apart true Party members from opportunists.So its good that problems like this have been identified early and the Party Leaders should attend to them in earnest. Hopefully they sort out this mess and once they have a solid foundation they can Launch the Party,its still work in Progress……so no need to push the panic buttons.

Surely you are must be aware that people also contribute to the country economy through the remittance, no matter how small. Further more you surely understand that when a political ogenisation is established although you do display some stupidity. They expect to form the next government, people first belong to all zimbweans that has been made very clear. We need everyone to join People First. In zimbabwe, Australia, United States, united States. South Africa, Botswana etc, etc. It’s a game of numbers, to win it you need people a lot of people.
