As the bi-elections come to a near close, ZimEye.com is getting reports that Local Government and National Housing Minister Ignatius Chombo has dispatched a battalion of soldiers to polling stations in places such as Hurungwe West so to intimidate voters.Chombo has already appeared in video footage threatening to imprison anyone who supports non- ZANU PF candidates the likes of expelled legislator Temba Mliswa.
At the time of writing however, no army officers were visible at the stations.
Meanwhile, reports were submitted that there is massive vote rigging in other stations in particular Kambuzuma, Harare. Below was a message submittted by anews reader: “Serious rigging in Kambuzuma 3. Zupco buses offloading in the industry area, now people flooded the section five polling station two boxes full already. Imagine vendors all over the polling area, Kasukuwere present, and people reporting to someone after voting.”
