“CIO” OFFICERS TO APPEAR IN COURT FOR KIDNAPPING.
Four fake CIO officers who were really just prison officers stationed at Mutoko Prison were caught in the act having abducted a DJ and barman and brutally assaulting them in the way, ZimEye.com can reveal.
 
The officers were yesterday seen running around seeking lawyers after their case of kidnapping and heavily assaulting two employees of Mutoko’s Madzeka Night Club a few days before was seen heading for a criminal court hearing.
 
The four officers George Chigwena, Martin Muchena, Kapere and Chitumbura at the weekend on Saturday 5 June descended at Madzeka Night Club before dawn and abducted Night Club resident DJ Lovemore Kamuzangaza and barman Bismarck Chipangura before taking them to an unknown place where they brutally tortured them before handing them to the police for charges of having assaulted their fellow officer one Takawira.
 
Police at Mutoko reacted with fury and arrested the quad gang.
 
Efforts by some Prison senior bosses to “save” the accused four from prosecution failed.
 
It is believed Mutoko ZRP are turning a blind eye to “save” the four accused because a month ago a senior prison officer attempted to armtwist the cops to twist a case into their favour.
 
The officers complained to their Dispo “for not pursuing” a case in which another officer a, one Mutukwa broke his leg in a scuffle at a local bottle store. Although Mutukwa, who spent almost a month recovering in hospital is widely believed to have been wrong, a senior officer at Mutoko, who is also known for unscrupulous behaviour, went on to try and force the prosecutors at Magistrate court and the police to suit the case into their favour.
 
The four officers have since been “temporarily” released from work so that they find time to engage lawyers before appearing in court.
 
The case has gathered heat since protracted efforts to engage the two Madzeka Night Club employees to withdraw the case proved fruitless yesterday.
According to a medical affidavit, one of the assaulted Lovemore Kamuzanganga’s ear drum was damaged.
