As factional fighting escalate in the mainstream opposition led by Morgan Tsvangirai, hawks in the party are planning to hijack protests planned by the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions, ZCTU and attack lawyer, Nelson Chamisa tomorrow.
The Thokozani Khupe led faction in the MDC-T plans to demonstrate against Nelson Chamisa instead of registering their displeasure against the Mugabe regime.
They are planning a demonstration against the “mere” lawyer.
Sources on Khupe’s side who attended a Khupe faction meeting today in Harare claim that ten people have been identified for tomorrow’s event. The ten people will hold placards denouncing Nelson Chamisa. The insider identified one of the people as Shorai who is a youth national member in the MDC-T.
The other person who provides financial backing is said to be Honourable Lwazi Sibanda (Matebeleland North women’s assembly chair) who is said to have donated 8 litres of fuel for the plot against Tsvangirai loyalist Nelson Chamisa.
Both Shorai and Lwazi are said to be a top official’s girlfriends as the insider revealed that the aforementioned has a soft spot on girls.
The insider claimed that the plot against Nelson Chamisa is a continuation of the post 2013 plot to finish MDC-T before 2018. The insider claim that the plot was escalated during last year’s Congress where Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is believed to have sponsored the donwfall of Nelson Chamisa at last year’s congress.
The insider claims that Douglas Mwonzora, Theresa Mokone and Thokozani Khupe who belong to the same faction were given money by Mnangagwa on one condition that the MDC-T Congress was to be rigged in favour of the scandalous hit Douglas Mwonzora faction.
And the Zctu was going to be used to rig the Congress elections in favour of the Khupe faction so that Shoko will be rewarded with a national executive position. The insider claims that this was done in order to frustrate those belonging to the Tsvangirai faction so that they can quit politics which was going to result in project 2018 succeeding. The say that the initial plots failed as those who strongly back Tsvangirai and Chamisa are remaining steadfast in defence of the party’s values under threat from the Mwonzora movement.
The say that during the last NEC the hawks were planning a vote of no confidence on Hwende and Khumalo but Morgan Tsvangirai refused to bow to Douglas Mwonzora’s plots which are detrimental to the MDC-T.
They were also planning to make sure that Nelson Chamisa is answerable for the supreme court as if he was a judge but Morgan Tsvangirai saved Nelson Chamisa from the MDC-T hawks and now they are at it again using ZCTU.
