Ekeng dies, aged 26

Ekeng aged 26, collapsed and died of a suspected heart failure in the pitch.
The promising young star fell to the ground in the 70th minute of a televised Romanian league match between Dinamo and Viitorul.
He was pronounced dead in hospital two hours later.
Ekeng’s death will remind soccer fans of the death of another Cameroon football great Marc Vivian Foe who collapsed and died in a world cup match in 1998, televised live throughout the world.

  1. On 26 June 2003, Cameroon faced Colombia in the semi-final, held at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon, France. In the 72nd minute of the match Foé collapsed in the centre circle,[21] with no other players near him.[22] After attempts to resuscitate him on the pitch, he was stretchered off the field, where he received mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and oxygen. Medics spent 45 minutes attempting to restart his heart, and although he was still alive upon arrival at the stadium’s medical centre he died shortly afterwards.[21]

  2. Marc Vivien Foe did not die in 1998…..He also did not die in a World Cup match. Do your home work you stupid cyber reporter…. and make corrections…
