Pandamonium, gunshots and blaze at Chihuri’s home
Staff Reporter| Police boss Augustine Chihuri’s house endured over 3 hours of gunshots, the state media (Herald) claims.
They however say the attacker, a well known uniformed police officer just wanted to loot. ZimEye.com today explore the reasons why Chihuri was targeted and in the first program, ZimEye revealed that there has been a build up of anger among junior officers against their boss over several violations which include institutionalised corruption.
ZimEye ealier on reported that Chihuri’s house went into flames following over 15 minutes of gunshots exchange from inside the house. The matter of the 15 minute duration was submitted by neighbours (check the program starting at 5pm.) However the state media reports from security sources that the gunshots were actually for a long 3 hour duration.
Chihuri’s mansion was at the time of writing still barricaded by heavily armed members of the Zimbabwe National Army and the Airforce of Zimbabwe.
The sources told ZimEye.com that heavy gun fire exchanges emanated from inside the house and some civilian employees at the house were seen jumping out of the premises over a three metre high perimeter wall.
The sporadic gun exchanges continued on before a large burst was heard and the house went up in a huge blaze.It is believed it was actually bombed.
City of Harare Emergency Services personnel and the fire brigade immediately arrived at the house followed by a huge contingent of the Zimbabwe National Army and Airforce.
Besides commotion in the police force, Chihuri has been in trouble with the military since the take over from former President Robert Mugabe.

Are you telling me that it took 3 hours for police to arrive at the scene? What type of police is this? It wont take the same police the same amount of time to arrive at a bus stop to arrest touts who are fighting over commuters.
I hope nobody believes this bullshit. Chihuri is trying to destroy evidence for his corrupt activities. Where’s the best place to do it? Right at his home. He will then claim damages from the insurers. And nobody can prosecute him pasina evidence. I have read the likes of James Hadley Chase to know how these criminal elements operate.
