Date: 28 Dec 2017 | Dear Editor

How do we deal with Western Union agents in Zimbabwe who are sitting on our hard earned money? The Western Union remittances are costing us more in terms time, extra phone calls and multiple commutes by our relatives. Please help us to explore this upsetting matter.

Kind regards Gaudencia.

  1. Personally I received 2000US from UK and 1500US from China i didn’t face any hussle at all in December before Xmas, actually there was no queue. I was the only person served at both occasions. I stay out of Harare

  2. Most of them in town were telling me that they had run out of money especially the one housed in the causeway post office and the ones along Inez Terecy opposite the main post office including the one at Macipisa shopping center in Harare just to name a few. If your relatives were getting theirs on time lucky them. They work so slowly till closing time then they tell you their machines have shut down for the day. So when people complain I think it’s wise to take your time to defend until you have facts on the issues.

  3. Which Western Union branches are playing games? Please reveal them because personally have sent money twice over this Christmas period, the latest being yesterday Friday the 29th of December 2017 and my relatives have picked it up in Harare 10 minutes later.

  4. Personally i have send more through wetsern union to Zimbabwe and my family receives the money it time, at Makoni shopping center and they get it in USD

  5. Are you an agent of WU I am just curious? Let WU respond for themselves: lately they have been playing games with cash remittances from friends and relatives from abroad. This is money sent from abroad so for WU to tell anyone that they don’t have cash needs answers as to why they don’t have cash.

  6. Maakuda kutanga ku looter leave western union alone hamunyare vaite sei, they only receive money and give it in forex marwadziwa nei… We dont like attitude yelooting iri pachena… Work people and innovate and not envy other people’s sweat…
