Did UK sponsor Chiwenga?

Staff Reporter| The United Kingdom and China have been accused of directly sponsoring the coup that saw former President Robert Mugabe being removed and Emmerson Mnangagwa being appointed Head Of State last November.

The allegations are contained in a lengthy petition submitted to the African Union yesterday.

Neither Britain nor China had posted a response at the time of writing.

The two nations are roped in the allegations which have seen President Mnangagwa and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga being reported to the AU for allegedly violating Zimbabwe’s Constitution and doing all this for factional interests.  As ZimEye reveals, the below petition, is part of the full written request made to the AU, the body which has been called upon by members of the G40 which seeks international redress for the incidents that saw 94 year old Robert Mugabe being removed in November last year.

  1. Who is authoring this document about these stupid and spurious allegations.I suspect the G40 patnering with ZimEye are behind it since ZimEye cannot publish a nameless document.

  2. Our brothers and sisters in the Grace40 movement please be advised that that is exactly democracy the Zim way playing out in our country as characteristic also of certain other parts on the continent. We are in good company though. We have the DRC (including its predecessor Zaire), Ivory Coast, Egypt, and many others for company. That is what works in and for much of Africa. Quick analysis shows your fallen idol also ascended to leadership riding on the back of what amounted to a coup. The generals of that time (Chiwenga, Chimonyo and some now fallen ones) with one accord gave Ndabaningi Sithole the rude middle finger sign resulting in him vacating the front tail planted firmly between his legs and thereafter start yapping yapping sembwa/inja yamisses in the safety of Rhodesia just like what most of you now do in exile. Then Morgan Tsvangirai dared win an election one time. It was declared that the “jacket” didn’t fit him and you were amongst those cheerleading this declaration. You think Britain doesn’t know that Western style democracy doesn’t work here? She does which is why when Smith and the white supremacists of the 1960s time performed their UDI, not a single British soldier set foot in this land in pursuance of the quest for democracy. Of course Britain will keep crowing about democracy and whilst she has our attention like that and through British companies, British-Zimbabwean citizens relieve us of our resources (foreign currency). You would feel sick in the gut to know the billions illegally externalised from Zimbabwe by farmers and UK businesses from independence to the time relations soured. I wish the Reserve Bank would make the statistics available if they have them. The Chinese have developed their own brand of democracy which works for them and if we were to ask them nicely would only be too happy to guide us into it. They are not goung to lose any sleep that what essentially was a veneer of Western style democracy appeared to have been subverted in Zimbabwe. This is Zimbabwean style democracy. Live with it until the next coup. Let those who receive their supper by singing democracy songs continue at least it cuts the unemployment statistics.
