The Minister Of Local Government July Moyo has blocked the much talked about Mthwakazi King Coronation set for Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday.

In a letter to the Chief Mathema of Gwanda who is the chairman of the chiefs organising the event, Minister Moyo said the coronation of a king is unconstitutional and illegal in the country.

The organisers had already finalised arrangements for the weekend function with close to a million dollars already spent according to the organisers.

Flights, hotels and other logistics for scores of high profile dignatories had already been booked and paid for through well wishers.

Several buses had also already been secured to ferry people coming from around the Southern Africa region for the event, some from as far as Cape Town.

A powerful public address system hired from South Africa is reported to be already on its way to Bulawayo together with a twenty member crew.

Police in Bulawayo had cleared the event which was notified to them late last year.

Efforts to get a comment from Effie Ncube the spokesperson of the organisers were unsuccessful at the time of writing.
