By Paul Nyathi | Controversy ridden Welshman Ncube led MDC Member of Parliament Priscilla Misihairabwi Mushonga has fired warning shots in the direction of the long envisaged women politicians counter coalition.
Mushonga expressed her unreserved backing for Luciah Matibenga former Tendai Biti led PDP Vice President together with that of former ZANU PF Vice President Joice Mujuru and want out MDC-T Deputy President Thokozani Khuphe.
In a sensational Facebook post over the weekend, Mushonga unwittingly showered the three politicians who have previously been reported to be working with her at backing Mujuru in challenging male counterparts into the country’s presidency.
“The beauty about being away from home is that it gives you some time to reflect on what really matters in ones life. So today as I sit in this cold city of New York, I am taking time to celebrate people in my life, my friends,” she wrote from New York City where she is on a business trip.
“Thokozani Khupe, when I feel defeated and I think I am done, she is my source of energy always the optimist with bounds and bounds of courage,” said Mushonga.
“Nothing is impossible for Thoko,” she added on the MDC-T Deputy President who this weekend officially declared leading a split out of the MDC.
“Matibenga, this is my sister, my political compass she keeps me focused on the bigger picture and always the affirmer,” Mushonga said about the leader of the splinter PDP party which fizzled into the Joice Mujuru led People’s Rainbow Coalition at the split.
“Mai Mujuru, my Tete, when I need nurturing of my whole me. She will cook my favorite, chibage or mbambaira, never a dull moment with her this is the girl who always make time to sit with me early morning in my pyjamas and will regale me with stories about Solomon,” Mushonga said about the former National Vice President to former President Robert Mugabe.
“When I want unconditional loving that asks nothing of me that is my girl,” she said on Mujuru.
The controversial former Secretary General to Ncube in the MDC preempted the existence of a political relationship and loyalty to each other of the four powerful women politicians.
“So girls if you do read this all I am saying is I love you, am privileged to be an active member of the MUTUAL admiration society,” she said emphasising on the mutual relationship.
The four parliamentarians last year led a women’s initiative that held rallies in Harare and Bulawayo calling on Zimbabweans to vote for women candidates in the upcoming elections.
The rallies left their party principals confused on what the motive of the rallies was as Mujuru was then the only known female political leader amongst the top opposition parties.
Information within the MDC sometime last year also indicated that Mushonga is no longer in good relations with her principal Ncube. Party Deputy Spokesperson Mbuso Siso confirmed last week that Mushonga was on her way out of the party making possibilities of the four women coalition more realistic.
