PICTURE BLAST: Germany’s DW Talks To Zim Journalists

By Staff Reporter| A four member delegation from Germany’s largest broadcaster, Deutsche Welle (DW) arrived in Harare yesterday. In the above panel comprised of local journalists, DW’s Peter Limbourg and moderated by Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa, the topic under discussion is, “Adapting to an evolving media landscape.”

The journalists representing both print and broadcast media shared their experiences.

The German delegation, comprising of DW Director, Peter Limbourg, Head of DW International Affairs, Klaus Bergmann, and Head of DW Distribution Africa, Sevan Ibrahim- Sauer, took time to see for themselves how Zimbabwe is now in the New Dispensation.

Since the events of last November, there has been a flood of investors seeking opportunities in Zimbabwe, in what has seen US and UK officials sounding positively about Zimbabwe, and in January the then US envoy, Harry Thomas said President Emmerson Mnangagwa has started his leadership on a good note.

MISA Harare Advocacy Chairperson, Garikai Chàunza hailed the visit by the DW delegation saying such visits provided “the platform for local media houses to exchange notes and explore possible opportunities and challenges with Germany’s largest broadcaster.”
