The ruling party Zanu PF has blocked six MPs perceived to be aligned to former First Lady Grace Mugabe’s G-40 faction from contesting in the primary elections.

Zanu PF National Political Commissar Englebert Rugeje instructed members of the ruling party’ s Provincial Executive Committee here to reject the six MPs’ CVs, party sources revealed yesterday.

The affected MPs are Denford Masiya(Chiredzi East), Darlington Chiwa(Chiredzi West), Robert Mukwena(Chiredzi North), Retired Brigadier General Callisto(Chiredzi South) Gwanetsa, Ephraim Gwanongodza(Chivi Central) and Gutu North MP Tichafa Madondo.

Masvingo Provincial Chairman, Ezra Chadzamira confirmed the party blocked some candidates from participating in the primary elections.

“We are going through a meticulous vetting process so those who do not quality will be dropped.

It is not about factionalism.Let me clarify the misconceptions,” said Chadzamira.
