By Talent Gondo| Presidential Advisor and aspiring legislator for Norton, Christopher Mutsvangwa has won the recently held primary by elections, albeit by default.

Zanu Pf’s National Political Commisar Retired General Engelbert Rugeje in a statement confirmed Mutsvangwa’s victory. He read out Mutsvangwa’s name announcing him as winner during the ZBC news bulletin Saturday night.

It was not clear how Rugeje arrived at his final results which led to the announcement and ZimEye was at the time of writing still researching on how it was done.

Mutsvangwa, initially lost Zanu Pf’s primary elections against rival Langton Mutendereki and he petitioned the party’s elections directorate challenging his defeat.

“There is a G40-Gamatox coalition interfering in the Zanu PF political processes and determined to stop Mutsvangwa because I was at the centre of [former president Robert] Mugabe’s fall,” said Mutsvangwa.

“My supporters are traumatised, have been harassed and suffered the worst abuses in violation of their rights as party members.”

He also blamed Norton Independent candidate, Temba Mliswa for his defeat. – THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY –  more to follow
