Zimbabweans in and out of the country have mixed sentiments on MDC leader Nelson Chamisa’ s BBC Hardltalk interview.
Below are some comments from Facebook users on the interview:
Maureen Kademaunga yesterday wrote:
“Dear Sackur, What is silly beyond nonsense is your inability to
accept that an African can dream for Africa
standards that are beyond current western
standards.”

David Gondokondo commented:
“Chamisa performed well but we should also criticise
subjective interviewing that means we are
behind the leader.”
Mziwandile Ndlovu said:
“I think this is self indulgent abuse of the Pan African
argument. The African man did not rise to the
occasion.”
” I was also offended big time.
Dismissing bullet train in Zim as nonsense? He
sounded like he was reading from an ED manual!”posted Evans Makavire
Simba Usore said ” Surely and honestly you don’t expect any
non-African to endorse an Africa bigger than them.
They will challenge any such ideas. The role of a
visionary is to defend that idea and defend it well.”
Shingi Pride said
“It is not about an African dreaming, it’s about
feasibility. An example is him saying he is going to
bring a train that travels faster than any train. It’s
nonsense. we have to address the basics first and
he is talking about having a train that no country
has, he doesn’t even talk about how he intends to
bring these trains given there is no factory for that.”
“It was hard talk not pampering. The office he is gunning for need seriousness not
foolish talk,” wrote Justice Munyoro.
