Jessie Majome Goes Independent

By Paul Nyathi|MDC-T member of parliament for Harare West Jessie Majome has all but declared that she will contest the Harare West parliamentary election as an independent candidate.

Majome made the declaration at a private press conference held at her home in Harare on Monday.

Majome said that she will contest the national election but will not be involved in the party primary elections which all but declared that she will contest as an independent.

“I want to declare to you Harare Westerners that the journey we started together will not be deterred by these events, I will be available for you to make a decision if you still need me as your messenger in parliament,” she said.

Majome withdrew from the party primary elections on Friday claiming that the electoral process was flowed.

Majome claimed that the MDC-T leadership was shifting the election process to favour her rival Joanna Mamombe to win the election.
