By Own Correspondent| The MDC T led by Nelson Chamisa has extended an olive branch to Harare West legislator, Jessie Majome in a move aimed at resolving the challenges which pushed her to declare that she will contest this forthcoming elections as an independent candidate.
In an interview with ZimEye following the press conference held at Morgan Tsvangirai House in Harare (Tuesday), the party’s National Chairperson, Morgen Komichi said his party could not afford to lose talented and hardworking cadres like Majome.
“We are in dialogue with Majome. We like her. She is a hard worker, a top parliamentarian.
“We don’t want to lose a strong woman like Jessie Majome. We would have lost a great leader if we let her go,” said Komichi.
He said his party had engaged Majome to convince her to take up other leadership positions including senatorial.
“We don’t want her to stand as an independent. There are so many options around her. We have positions in the PR in the Senate, it’s up to her now to chose where she wants to go,” said Komichi.
He said the party was aware that her declaration to stand as an independent was done out of emotions.
“We know she has acted out of emotions and now she has calmed down. We are in dialogue with her,” said Komichi.
