Police sources have claimed close to 40 000 cops may not vote despite the High Court ruling on the democratic rights of civil servants to vote.
Impeccable police sources have revealed cops have been strategically deployed in a move calculated to block them from voting.
Irate police officers have accused ZRP boss Godwin Matanga of working with Zanu PF to muzzle junior officers’ rights.
“There is a calculated move to block us from voting.There is no doubt that we are regarded as unruly elements.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa knows that the majority of police officers will not vote for him.
Although the High Court has ruled that civil servants must be allowed to vote, it is too late because ZRP cops have already been deployed to various polling stations,” police sources revealed.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Erasmus Mukodza, the head of the Elections Command Centre , said police officers were given ample time to apply for postal voting.
