Controversial War veterans’ secretary general Victor Matemadanda has said United States President
Donald Trump should not meddle in South Africa’s land reform issue.
Matemadanda accused the United States of America of having a ‘big
brother’ approach to African issues.
Matemadanda has also said Zimbabwe’s War Veterans are behind the ANC’s decision to amend the Constitution to pave the way for expropriation.
“We are in solidarity with our neighbouring nation and we pray that
they do not give in to the unnecessary attention from the West. They (Mr Trump and Americans) should stop meddling in South African internal matters, they have no right whatsoever. As war vets from both countries, we fought side by side.
If South Africans want their land back, it’s their call and it should be respected. Were our forefathers happy to die when the whites seized their land and did anyone in the moral world condemn it? They took our land in cold blood,” Matemadanda told Chronicle.
