There is no love lost between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his former boss Robert Mugabe – as they say.
Mnangagwa could not hide his emotional overtones as he commended his long time boss- Mugabe- for sending his daughter to represent him at the inauguration ceremony on Sunday.
In his letter Mugabe said he was unable to attend his former aide’s inauguration due to ill-health and
he sent his daughter Bona Chikore to represent him.
“Even our former President Mugabe,
who had earlier said he no longer
supported Zanu-PF and was supporting (Nelson) Chamisa also sent a letter to congratulate me.
He sent his daughter Bona because he could not attend the ceremony
because of ill-health. We are happy
that he has realised that he had made a

mistake,” said Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa also described Mugabe as his father and mentor in an emotionally charged speech.
