“…well hundreds of people have taken to the witness stand…” – John Masuku
By Simba Chikanza| (ALSO WATCH VIDEO BELOW) While clear LIVE statistics show that less than 40 people have taken stand, the Motlanthe Commission Of Inquiry spokesman has said hundreds of people have testified before it to date.
Mr. John Masuku was speaking at the end of day today.
It was not clear at the time of writing how Mr Masuku arrived at the figure of hundreds of people.
Mr Masuku first spoke revealing the timeline for the final report saying, “well the write up can be very soon, the commissioners are working flat out day and night in order to come up with a comprehensive report.
“But you remember that they had up to 90 days and they have up to the 19th of December, to finish their process so they still have time but as far as they are concerned they would like to beat that deadline so that they are through with all the work much ahead of that time…”
He was then asked, how many people have taken to the witness stand to date, and he replied saying, “well hundreds of people have taken to the witness stand, I was just checking that information with the Secretariat, they were very busy,
“and they indicated that there were hundreds of people but very soon I did request them that we need specific numbers as we get towards the end of the process so as time goes on we will have the specific numbers of individuals as well as the number of organisations.”
