Terrence Mawawa|The MDC A says it remains unshaken by feeble attempts by the government to discredit today’s peaceful demonstration.
In spite of the fact that thousands thronged Africa Unity Square to participate in the demonstration, the government attempted to denigrate the gathering through an article that has been published by a state run daily paper, see below the story:
A demonstration organised by Mr Nelson Chamisa’s MDC-Alliance in Harare’s Africa Unity Square today is failing to gain traction as people are ignoring it and going about their usual businesses in the Central Business District.
Mr Chamisa and his outfit said they want to demonstrate against the so-called economic challenges in the country. According to information circulated by the party yesterday, people were supposed to have
assembled by 8:30AM this morning but as of noon, they were still struggling to assemble a reasonable crowd.
Most of the activists at the Africa Unity Square are drinking opaque beer and chanting MDC-Alliance slogans.
