By Own Correspondent| Striking junior doctors who downed their tools since December 1, 2018, have resolved not to attend the disciplinary hearings after being summoned by the government.

The government has said that all the suspended doctors will be disciplined after they ignored a Labour Court ruling that their strike was illegal and which also ordered them to go back to work immediately.

Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA) secretary-general Mthabisi Bhebhe confirmed that the striking junior doctors had indeed resolved to ignore the hearings.

Said Bhebhe:

“We have been notified of disciplinary hearings across all central hospitals tomorrow (today), and as for the time and other details, we have not been advised.”

When quizzed whether they will heed theor employer’s call and attend the hearings, Bhebhe said

“Nope, no one is going.”–Newsday
