By Paul Nyathi|Troubled ruling ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa left the capital this morning for a relatively hopeless 4-nation visit of Eastern Europe allegedly to deepen and strengthen economic cooperation between Zimbabwe and those countries.
Mnangagwa left the country on fire as citizens went on sporadic protests against his 143% fuel price hike effected over the weekend.
Mnangagwa is being accompanied by the Minister of Mines and Mining Development Winston Chitando, nomadic Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube, the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement Retired Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Dr John Mangudya and Deputy Chief Secretary in the President’s Office responsible for communication George Charamba and other senior government officials in a huge entourage that does not reflect the austerity measures that they have been calling for.
From the eastern countries, Mnangagwa will proceed to the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland for his second appearance at the world economic stage.
Chiwenga is the Acting President.
