By Paul Nyathi|Late evening reports from ZimEye.com sources around the country indicate that heavily armed members of the Zimbabwe National Army have been deployed into volatile areas in Bulawayo, Harare and other major centres in the country.

Witnesses indicate that soldiers took full charge of security in Harare, Bulawayo and Chitungwiza late evening and immediately began clearing the city centres and forcing the few open shops to close.

According to the witnesses three highly armed military trucks were seen headed to Chitungwiza where a police station was reportedly under siege from protesters.

In Mabvuku high density suburb, where the protesting emanated from, a huge battalion of soldiers is reported to be taking charge forcing innocent citizens to clean all the mess that was left over after the protesting.

Zimbabweans went on a massive protest against a fuel price increase effected by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Saturday.

The strike also follows days of unrest over the government’s failure to pay civil servants better rates and also failing to deal with the economic woes bedevilling the country.
