Jane Mlambo| MDC Secretary General, Douglas Mwonzora who is facing increasing pressure to step down from his planned challenge of party President Nelson Chamisa at the forthcoming congress has blasted what he termed Twitter politicians anticipating to be appointed by the youthful party Presidential candidate in the July 2018 elections.

Asked to comment on claims that he is being sponsored by Zanu PF, Mwonzora said, “This is largely the work of the Twitter politicians who are unelectable and anticipate to be appointed by the President. I am happy that President Chamisa and myself are not engaged in unproductive hate language,”

Mwonzora’s remarks could be targeted by Chamisa backers like party Deputy Treasurer Charlton Hwende whose Twitter handle has been the leading critic of prospective Chamisa challengers.
