By Own Correspondent| Theileriosis has wrecked havoc in the country killing cattle around areas including Goromonzi, Wedza, Marondera, Chikomba, Buhera, Chivhu, Gutu, Chegutu, Centenary, Shamva and Bindura.

One farmer in Mhondoro-Ngezi Johnson Chipayi lost all his cattle to the disease.
He sold the last batch of his cattle at very cheap prices in fear they would die too.
Individuals and private abattoirs from afar places like Harare, Gweru and Bulawayo have invaded theileriosis affected areas to buy cattle.
In 2018, the country lost about 50 000 cattle to the disease. A worker at Mhondoro-Ngezi Veterinary Services Department, Noreen Ndlovu, indicated that efforts to alleviate the disease are already underway.
She said:
“Of course there was a time when we did not have chemicals for the dip tanks and that is how the disease spread; however, we have rectified the situation.”
