By Own Correspondent| A 19 year old man from Mvurwi drowned while trying to retrieve bathing soap from a river.

Maxwell Mutema from Barwick Farm died from drowning after he tried to retrieve a cake of bathing soap which had slipped into Mukwadzi river.

Maxwell’s twin brother, Clever and a friend identified as Anyway Magetsi were bathing with Maxwell on the fateful day but were unable to rescue him despite their best efforts.

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the incident although he stated that Maxwell’s body is yet to be retrieved.-TheStandard
