By A Correspondent| 14 lions are on the loose after breaking out of a game reserve.

The pride was spotted roaming near a mine in north-east South Africa, prompting warnings from local officials.

It was seen near Phalaborwa Foskor mine, just west of Kruger National Park near the Mozambique border.

Rangers said they are monitoring the animals, and Limpopo authorities plan to capture them and release them back into the reserve.

The Limpopo province officials has warned civilians to “be alert at all times”.

The report says: A meeting held between LEDET, The Kruger National Park and Greater Balule concluded that the lions are to be captured and released back at Kruger National Park.

Employees at Foskor Mine and members of the public are hereby advised to be alert at all
times.
