By a Correspondent| MDC President Nelson Chamisa’s lawyer, Thabani Mpofu was yesterday afternoon involved in a car accident in Mashonaland.

The mishap happened in Muzarabani and the renowned lawyer had travelled for a church event, the MDC spokesman, Jacob Mafume told ZimEye.

Scores of Zimbabweans became disquieted when news of the accident surfaced towards the close of day. Fears were compounded by the long history of suspicious car accidents which go back to the very foundations of the Zimbabwean nation. From Josiah Tongogara, to William Ndangana, to Moven Mahachi, to Peter Pamire, to Edward Chindori Chininga, the story of assassinations has dogged the very veins of the Zimbabwean psyche. The greatest of these include the accident that killed the former MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s daughter, Vimbai in Kwekwe last month, a tragic accident that involved members of the military.

Following allegations by the street preacher, Talent Chiwenga that his car was tampered with by state agents just before Wednesday’s accident that killed the latter’s wife, the timing could not have been more perfect. Many Zimbabweans took to the conclusion due to the fact thaf Mpofu has been Nelson Chamisa’s lawyer in the just ended 2018 electoral challenge ( although he has also represented the nemesis Emmerson Mnangagwa before. )

Bu the party’s spokesman, Jacob Mafume told ZimEye, the lawyer’s condition was not as serious as people thought, while saying he was still to get to the bottom of the full details. Below were his brief comments-
