On the 13th July 2019, there will be a by-election in ward 31 Bikita East, Masvingo Province.

The by-election is a result of the death of a Zanu PF councillor in April 2019.

Mr Farai Chinobva MDC National organising director and Mr Dangazela ‘Mr Cool’ one of MDC strategists held free and fair primary elections and Bikita East chose youthful candidate Mr Moses Maphosa as their candidate.

Masvingo provincial leaders organised two rallies that were addressed by MDC National chairperson honourable Thabitha Khumalo, National Organiser honourable Amos Chibaya, Dept National Organiser honourable Happymore Chidziva, National youth chair Mr Obey Sithole and many national youth leaders in Bikita East ward 31 drumming up support for MDC candidate.

On Saturday, 06th July 2019, MDC Masvingo cadres will hold the final rally in Bikita East ward 31.

Provincial and national members will address.

In supporting the noble cause of winning ward 31, Masvingo MDC deputy provincial spokesperson Ms Lee Mahachi said:

“Masvingo provincial chairman Mr James Chafungamoyo Gumbi gave Bikita East ward 31 election 18 agents $1000, meaning each agent will get $56.

Additionally, Advocate Musendekwa gave $500 and Masvingo provincial organizer Mudzingwa and Mr Bhadharai helped with flyers and posters.”

Many Masvingo provincial leaders are giving helping hand in ward 31 include Proportional Representatives – honourable Mrs Mago and honourable National vice women’s chairlady Mrs Mugidho and Masvingo urban member of parliament honourable Jacob Nyokanhete.

MDC is expected to win this by election.

Zanu PF leaders have been campaigning using maize, food items, clothes, party regalia and have deployed high terrain vehicles.

It’s game on.
