Jane Mlambo| Government will purchase more ZUPCO buses as it moves to cushion the commuting public against the rising cost of transport.

Presenting the 2020 national budget, Finance minister Professor Mthuli Ncube said government will continue to subsidize the mass transport system while capacitating ZUPCO to provide an efficient public transport system.

“To cushion the commuting public against the rising cost of transport, Government will continue to subsidise a Mass Transport System, as well as capacitate ZUPCO to provide an efficient public transport system.

“In this regard, ZUPCO will be capacitated to purchase more reliable conventional buses,” said Mthuli Ncube.
