Farai Dziva| Norman Mapeza’s bid to steer Chippa United out of the murky waters of relegation received a timely boost when he guided them their to their first win of the campaign; a 2-0 victory over Amazulu before the international break.
That was the Zimbabwean coach’s first victory in the league and more importantly, as previously highlighted; the Chilli Boys’ first of the 2019-20 campaign.
Despite still anchoring the log standigs, the win might have injected a new lease of life into Mapeza’s outfit and the just-ended internationa break might have given them a chance to re-group in their fight for survival.
Next up for the Port Elizabeth-based outfit is a home clash against Black Leopards on the 27th of November as there are no league games due to the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout.
