Own Correspondent|Marry Chiwenga Mubaiwa’s family members have revealed stunning allegations giving the case a new twist.

The family claims that their daughter was framed in order to be sent back to prison.

Marry was sent back to the notorious Chikurubi Maximum Prison on Saturday after the court denied her bail on the assault charges.

Marry is accused is alleged to have assaulted family maid Delight Munyoro.

Munyoro filed a police report alleging that Mary had assaulted her at Hellenic School following a heated argument over the custody of Marry and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s three minor children.

Munyoro claims to have sustained a cut on her lips after being struck by Marry. She is also claiming that some of her teeth are loose and are now shaking following the alleged assault.

However, Marry’s family is quoted by sources accusing Munyoro of having connived to frame Marry.

Online publication Kukurigo indicated on Monday that the family claims that Marry did not even touch Munyoro. Instead, they allege that Munyoro was actually slapped by a soldier in order to tarnish Mary’s image and paint her as an out of control violent person.

A family member who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity said, “First of all, Mary weighs 65kg and is much smaller than Delight. She did not even touch her. Delight was hit by a soldier and then ran and started screaming in front of Marry. Bogus witnesses immediately gathered to claim they had seen the alleged assault,”

Following the alleged assault, Marry was denied bail by a Harare Magistrate on Saturday and sent back to Chikurubi Prison.
