By Jane Mlambo| In yet another twist to the Zanu PF Youth League confusion over Deputy Secretary Lewis Matutu and Political Commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu’s name and shame list of corrupt cartels in the country, Secretary for Youths Affairs in the ruling party, Pupurai Togarepi has sided with the duo while dismissing a tweet by the youth league.
Following the press conference by Matutu and Tsenengamu, the Zanu PF Youth League Twitter handle posted a message distancing the organ from the duo’s action while urging those with incriminating evidence to approach the law enforcement agents.
The state owned Herald went on to carry a story based on the youth league remarks but Togarepi said the newspaper had extracted news from a shadowy twitter group.
“Herald should not attempt to drive a wedge in the Zanu-PF Youth League by extracting news from shadowy twitter groups. I hope the paper will correct its dubious story without delay unless there are ulterior motives. Our position : No to corruption in all its manifestation,” said Togarepi.
It seems battle lines have been drawn in the youth league and it remains to be seen how things will unfold going forward.
