Burundi National Soccer Team Travelled To A Wrong Venue 940 km Away For Their Match In Ethiopia.

AP|It was a marathon journey for an African team on the road as they forgot to make good use of their compasses.

The Burundi junior female team were in no man’s land on their way to an official match over the weekend as they lack proper guardian and direction to the right venue.

Burundi U-20 female national team were scheduled for an important away tie with East African country Ethiopia but communication gap was too wide between the two countries involved.

Burundi in a bid to catch their opposition off guard sneaked into Ethiopia and they paid extra transportation and stress for it in Kilometers.

Burundi’s U20 team traveled to the wrong city for their FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier against Ethiopia scheduled to be played on Monday.

They went to Dire Dawa in the east instead of Bahir Dar in the north. Google estimates the distance between the 2 cities at 940km.

The 2020 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be the 10th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup , the biennial international women’s youth football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA , since its inception in 2002 as the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship as the age limit was raised from 19 to 20 in 2008. It will be hosted by Costa Rica and Panama . This will be the first ever co-hosting of a FIFA youth tournament, and the second ever co-hosting of a FIFA tournament after the 2002 FIFA World Cup .

Two countries will represent Africa and Nigeria has qualified for all editions since 2002.
