Late former President Cannan Banana’s son Nathan did not know what awaited him when he took to Twitter to advice Zimbabweans to direct their frustration with the government to productive activities and not seek to gain social following while demeaning the country.

While that appeared like a genuine call on his fellow citizens, he may live to regret his decision after angry Zimbabweans descended on him like a tornado, with some using unprintable words to attack and condemn him.

“Some Zimbabwe tweets are like it’s a competition of who will get the most RTs for saying the worst things about their country rather than it being a competition on who has the best positive examples. There’s need to divert our anger and frustration to more productive activities,” tweeted Nathan.

“With all due respect Mr Banana on these streets we critise, expose and complain about the wrong things done to us by the government. Zimbabweans deserve far better than what the government is offering. So we will not not stop. This is too much a burden”
