Former Prime minister of Chad and current Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa faki Mahamat has summoned the Chinese consular over the maltreatment of Africans in Guangzhou, China.

He said:

“My office invited the Chinese ambassador to the AU. Mr Liu Yuxi to express our extreme concern at allegations of maltreatment of Africans in Guangzhou.

“We have called for immediate remedial measures in line with our excellent relations. The African group in Beijing is also engaging with government.”

Yesterday, ZimEye exposed how Africans in China were being subjected to inhumane treatment as Chinese landlords chucked them out of their homes and hotels.

The development saw the stranded Africans sleeping on the streets, in the cold like vagrants.

A video on social media showed how the Nigerian consular in that country tried to negotiate for the welfare of Nigerian citizens to no avail.

A leaked chat on a social media platform also showed racist remarks by Chinese nationals against blacks.
