Exiled former ZANU PF heavyweight Saviour Kasukuwere has called on goverment to release Zimbabwe National Students Union leader Takudzwa Ngadziore from prison.

Takudzwa was arrested on 10 September and charged him with participating in an illegal demonstration outside the offices of Impala Car Rental. Protest came after student Tawanda Muchehiwa was abducted by state agents using an Impala vehicle. He was granted bail for the offence.

A week later he was arrested after being badly beaten by unknown assailants believed to be members of the ZANU PF Youth League while addressing a press conference 101 meters away from Impala Car Rental premises.

Takudzwa was on 21 September 2020 denied bail on the basis that releasing him will “undermine the peace”. Today marks nearly a month in prison after arrest for addressing the news conference near Impala Car Rental. His bail appeal still cannot start at High Court:
