The recent Commissioning of a water tape by Mr ED Munangagwa in Chivi district is a very funny and ridiculous thing ever to be expected from a Head of State.
Chivi villagers need economic empowerment stirred up with a free and democtratic environment. The water tapes that ED boast of could have long been installed all over the country. Water is a necessity and as citizens we have the right to good heathy ,water and sanitization. The effort by the ED regime to try exaggaratte and expand a small thing in this world of advanced infrastructural development. Moreover, most political gatherings have been banned . A clear selective application of the law on this case. Zanupf regime took this opportunity to conduct a rally in the guise of a water pipeline commissioning program.
Only an insane human being can believe that Commissioning of a water tape was worth celebrating risking people from the Corona Virus. Whilst we acknowledge and also demand water tapes across all rural areas the natural resource capacity id there but has long been abused. The recent pointing of fingers, arrests and investigations amongst government officials and closests really shows us that the house is burning yet the Father wants us to celebrate. We needed these water pipeline schemes 15-20 years ago. We even needed them in all districts ,we wont allow you to rubberstamp your failures by commissioning a water pipeline. What would the local authorities and VEDCO reps do on their capacity when an all highly delagated team and President risk the spread of COVID 19 by gathering people Bvongwe. As for Chivi people we say lets arise and shine lets open our eyes widely, lets reason and widen up our minds. We demand a well backed up economic status where we are able to harness the water source.
We need democracy people are abducted day in day out, you know of Dzamara, Dr Mugombeyi, the recently abducted and totured trio Cecilia Chimbiri ,Johanna Mamombe and Netsai Marowa. Democracy , freedom and respect of human right are the beginning of a leaders’ wisdom. We wont get our freedom from tapes, we wont get our salaries increased by commissioning a water tape. A good leader could have been mastering and seriously working on high profile projects for the country eg installation of water tapes for the whole Masvingo Province.
The local Chivi people also need empowerment to harness the taped water. Celebrating a mere water tape alone without other backups such as highly empowerered agricultural activities with export and investor appeal and subsequently contribute to the GDP, employment creation.
As a potential green belt zone Chivi needs great projects that attract investors and create employment. The availability of Tokwe Mukosi Dam and those so called commissioned Tapes hasnt been empowered yet to support the local people and the country as a whole. As MDC A Youth we are deeply saddened because the government has done nothing to benefit the youths.
We need hortculture gardens , animal husbandry etc unique and export market projects. The problem that we have is a regime that wants to appease a few individuals for votes come next election. As MDC Alliance ours is a visionary blue print based upon creating an investor friendly country. We also advocate for great ideas and great projects that benefit the Country as whole not a village as a unity.
The Devolution thing has not been handled with competency and transparency . Leaders are not working with the local people, funding is too little to be meaningful. Illegitimacy, and lack of confidence are loopholes we look foward to fight for as MDC Alliance Youth in Masvingo. The Office of the resident Minister Chadzamira should know that our voices, cries and tears will be one day a nightmare and an avenging spirit that would haunt the pepertrators.
