Marvelous Nakamba has shared how his recent appearances for Zimbabwe in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers played a key role in his fitness recovery.
The Luton Town midfielder, who was sidelined last season due to a knee injury, marked a major milestone by completing his first full 90 minutes of the campaign during Zimbabwe’s Group J match against Kenya. He also went on to feature in another full match for Luton Town in their 1-0 win over Hull City last weekend.
In an interview with Luton Town media following the victory over Hull, Nakamba expressed his delight at returning to full fitness, saying:
“It was a fantastic feeling. It was great to be back with the national team, and qualifying for the Nations Cup was a huge achievement for the country. he’s wearing leg support braces
“Playing a full 90 minutes with the national team was really beneficial for me.
Coming back to Luton and being able to play another full match for the first time in a long time was a big boost.
“I feel it’s really helped me a lot, and I must also thank the physical coaches here at Luton.
They’ve been incredible, keeping me on track with my training, following the program, and supporting me from day one.”
