A police officer in Bulawayo has made a shocking confession to fatally shooting Detective Constable Cassandra Hove, a member of the elite all-female CID unit, Team Lozikeyi, during a police operation two weeks ago ¹. Constable Muradzikwa, stationed at Hillside Police Station, is currently in custody at Donnington Police Station.

According to police sources, Muradzikwa has taken full responsibility for the crime and waived his right to legal representation ¹. He is expected to face justice in court today.

The incident occurred on March 6, 2025, around 8:40 pm in the Habek area of Pumula South Suburb, where Detective Hove and her team were pursuing suspects involved in a string of armed robberies ¹. Initial reports had mistakenly suggested that the robbers were responsible for her death.

Detective Hove, a 37-year-old dedicated member of Team Lozikeyi, tragically lost her life in the line of duty ¹. Her family and colleagues are still reeling from the shock, and the community is demanding justice.
