By Crime and Courts Reporter-Police have confirmed that seven people died in a fatal road accident in Dzivaresekwa early this morning.

In a statement on X, the police reported that the crash involved three vehicles—a Toyota Hiace kombi, a haulage truck, and a UD 70 truck. 

The accident occurred at the intersection of Bulawayo Road and the Dzivaresekwa turn-off near Thuli Service Station.

“Seven people were killed, while eight others sustained injuries. Preliminary investigations suggest that the kombi driver failed to yield at the traffic light-controlled junction, leading to the collision. More details will be released in due course,” police stated.

ZimEye first broke the story, speaking to eyewitnesses who described the devastating scene.

“An early morning collision between a commuter omnibus and a haulage truck along Bulawayo Road has resulted in multiple deaths and serious injuries,” an eyewitness told ZimEye.

Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution on the roads as investigations into the tragic accident continue.
