Silence Motowenyoka, who has been working as a child care volunteer for over two years in ward 21 in Gutu, was suspended by Zanu PF Councillor Jephas Mutizwa and senior Social Welfare officers after being incensed by his donation.
A local traditional leader, Chief Makore also banned MDC activities -he threatened to evict all MDC supporters from his area following MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s rally at Man’a Business Centre.
Motowenyoka said he was surprised when Mutizwa came to his homestead to collect the cellphone and bicycle he received from the Social Welfare.
“I was shocked to see Mutizwa coming to my house instructing me to handover the cellphone and bicycle I received from the Social Welfare. He said I was no longer needed by the community. He said I was a sellout and he accused me of donating a goat to the MDC,” said Motowenyoka.
Councillor Mutizwa claimed Motowenyoka was dismissed for incompetence.
“I dismissed him because he is no longer needed by the community,” said Mutizwa.
ZimEye.com has been reliably informed Zanu PF youths and kraal heads in Gutu South, under instructions from the dreaded Central Intelligence Organisation, are compiling the names of villagers who attended Tsvangirai’s rally.
Zanu PF supporters in Gutu South Constituency last week warned villagers to desist from supporting the MDC as the ruling party would ruthlessly eliminate dissent.
