Terrence Mawawa | Bikita | A local man stabbed his girlfriend after catching her red-handed with a boyfriend.
Obey Madzinga of Makumbe Village, in a fit of rage, stabbed his girlfriend when he found her with another lover. Madzinga appeared before Bikita Resident Magistrate, Caroline Tafira last week. Madzinga visited Pamela Mutingwende who resides at Mutendi Complex at Nyika Growth Point and found her with a boyfriend.
There was a scuffle between the two and Madzinga produced a knife and stabbed Mutingwende on the left leg. Although Mutingwende tried to withdraw the case the State insisted that the matter be heard because of the type of weapon used. The Magistrate indicated there was a high possibility Madzinga could be a potential murderer in future. Magistrate Tafira instructed Madzinga to pay $50 fine or serve an alternative two months in prison.
Eyewitnesses told ZimEye.com Mutingwende’s boyfriend fled from the house when Madzinga confronted him over the issue. “We tried to stop the two from fighting. The boyfriend who was caught red-handed fled from the house and Madzinga then confronted Mutingwende and there was a fierce scuffle. The incident happened on August 13 and Mutingwende later attempted to withdraw the case,”said an eyewitness. It is also understood Mutingwende initially refused to go to hospital fearing Madzinga would be arrested after the compilation of the medical report.
