Terrence Mawawa, Gutu | In an incident that has shaken the Devure Community in Gutu District, a local man brutally murdered an elderly villager(96), after accusing him of possessing goblins.
The gruesome murder incident happened on December 16, according to the police.
Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesman Inspector Charity Mazula confirmed the incident and said the suspect was arrested soon after the grisly act.
Inspector Mazula said the elderly man, Morgan Panganai was drinking beer with his cousin, Tavonga Masange when Sam Manomano confronted the nonagenarian and accused him of being a witch.
Manomano accused Panganai of possessing goblins.He hit Panganai with clenched fists on the neck and the elderly man bled profusely from the mouth.
“I can confirm that an elderly man, Morgan Panganai of Devure, Gutu died after being hit with clenched fists by one Sam Manomano.
Panganai died on December 17 at Gutu Mission Hospital.
Manomano is expected to appear in court facing murder charges soon,” said Inspector Mazula.

this business of accusing old people of being witches owning goblins must stop. Old people are persecuted simply for being old
He must be hit with whatever as well.
Surely to logic of it is that if the old man had these so called goblins, then hitting him would make the goblins angry and make the local situation a lot worse.
The government needs to act on these goblins and prophet issues.
