Six Zanu PF MPs who were barred from contesting in the party’ s primary elections have vowed to take on National Political Commissar Englebert Rugeje whom they accuse of targeting his perceived political foes,it has emerged.
A Personal Assistant to one of the six MPs told ZimEye.com yesterday the legislators would proceed with the filing of papers in spite of Rugeje’ s spirited efforts to block them.
The affected MPs are Ephraim Gwanongodza (Chivi Central), Retired Brigadier General Callisto Gwanetsa(Chiredzi South), Denford Masiya (Chiredzi East), Darlington Chiwa (Chiredzi West), Robert Mukwena(Chiredzi North) and Tichafa Madondo(Gutu North).
“Given the latest events that are happening in the ruling party, the affected legislators have decided to take the game to Rugeje.
Rugeje ordered the Provincial Executive Committee to turn down the CVs from the MPs.
They are being victimised so appropriate measures are underway as part of efforts to resolve debacle,” said the Chiredzi based PA.
